  • Patent number: 4510786
Abstract: A method of making double reverse corrugated material includes feeding the material between an upper die and a lower die. Each of the dies have laterally spaced projections and a stripper positioned in the spaces between the projections of the die. One die is moved toward the other die to form the corrugations in the material. One die is moved away from the other die while both strippers and the other die are maintained substantially fixed with respect to each other. The stripper associated with the moving die is then moved with respect to the other die and the stripper associated with the other die is then moved with respect o the other die to strip the formed double reverse corrugated material from the dies. The formed material is then moved out from between the dies.

  • Patent number: 4423615
Abstract: A structural joint for bearing a structural load is formed by a pair of wooden members fastened together by at least one metal connector plate. The connector plate is formed from a metal plate having a plurality of pairs of teeth punched therefrom. The teeth are punched from the plate so as to project in a direction substantially perpendicular to the plate. Each pair of teeth is struck so as to leave a corresponding longitudinally extending slot between the teeth. Each of the teeth has a knife edge portion that extends from the plate. This knife edge portion is thinner than the remaining portion of each tooth and has a sharp edge with a cross-sectional angle of less than 20.degree., preferably 8.degree. to 12.degree., for facilitating penetration of each of the teeth into the wooden members to be secured together. • Patent number: 4061507
Abstract: An improved high strength wrench is stamped from a strip of a heat hardenable and relatively strong metal, such as stainless steel. The wrench is of the open-end type and has jaws with operating surfaces which, due to the hardness of the metal from which the wrench is stamped, maintain their original configuration even after the wrench has been utilized for an extended period of time. To promote the accurate formation of the operating surfaces of the jaws of the wrench, they are initially formed to a size which approximates their final size and configuration. The operating surfaces are then accurately trimmed to their final size and configuration by a shaving operation. During this shaving operation, a section of metal extending between the outer ends of the jaws of the wrench holds the jaws of the wrench against movement relative to each other.
