Abstract: A pallet protector unitarily formed as a molded plastic part reinforces a wooden pallet. Its faceplate is nailed or screwed to the front and optionally the back face and side faces of the pallet. The protector has entry openings for the tines of a forklift and the openings are articulated into hollow collars that extend into the pallets inner regions. These collars provide a structure that accepts the weight and moment between the tines and the pallet and spread it across of the entire front of the pallet. RFID modules can also be included.

Abstract: A shipping base for use with an appliance or other large product is provided. The base includes locator pins for removably securing the base to the appliance via a friction fit. The locator pins are captured by and extend upwardly from a folded corrugated member to frictionally engage the appliance. The locator pins preferably have a conical upper portion to help guide the pins into footholes or other openings in the bottom of the appliance.

Abstract: A pallet, a method of securing a load to a pallet, and a method of manufacturing therefor, in which the pallet includes a top plate, a base structure, and support legs, at least a portion of which join the top plate and the base structure. The support legs are disposed between the top plate and the base structure in an arrangement that accommodates engagement of the pallet with a standard jacking device along any edge of the pallet. Securing slots extend through the top plate, wherein a first subset of the securing slots is oriented lengthwise parallel to a first edge of the top plate and a second subset of the securing slots is oriented lengthwise perpendicular to the first edge of the top plate.

Abstract: A method to improve a pallet may include joining into a pallet four C-brackets, a pallet-deck, a first bottom-deck member, and a second bottom-deck member where two of the four C-brackets insides face two of the other four C-brackets' insides. The method may also include sizing a port to receive load-handling equipment tines formed by the four C-brackets, the pallet-deck, the first bottom-deck member, and the second bottom-deck member.

Abstract: The present invention provides a slipsheet and/or divider sheet and a method for making the same, the sheet having an imprint or an embossing that provides a raised planar surface. The raised planar surface preferably comprises a plurality of ridges, crowns or crests, which are preferably arranged in a pattern throughout an upper surface of the sheet. To make the sheet, a die can be etched to have protuberances or bumps, and the die is preferably pressed into a sheet of pliable thermoplastic material. The sheet thus made has a plurality of indentation formed by the protuberances or bumps on the die, and the sheet has a planar outer surface comprising a plurality of ridges, crowns and crests between the indentations.

A method of loading articles on a pallet, including arranging the pallet with the second portion of the platform in the second position, loading articles onto the second portion of the platform, shifting the second portion of the platform to the first position, and loading articles onto the first portion of the platform.

Abstract: A pallet base structure including a center deck defining a support surface extending between opposed sides and having at least two lugs extending from each of the opposed sides. A pair of base side members are positioned along respective sides of the center deck. The respective lugs are received in the respective lug receiving slots such that the center deck support surface is aligned with an upper surface of each support member to define a planar pallet surface. Abstract: A reinforced composite material cargo pallet including a core reinforced with two fused opposed layers of thermoplastic material and two opposed layers of aluminum is provided. The core, the layers of thermoplastic material and the two opposed layers of aluminum can be sized and designed to fit into a recess portion defined in the frame.

Abstract: An apparatus is described that forms a base resembling a pallet that can be retrofitted onto computer equipment racks, and other datacenter equipment, in order to allow the equipment or equipment rack to be moved with a moving device such as a pallet jack or one or more safe movers. Using a moving device to move items of equipment or and equipment rack allows the equipment or rack to remain fully loaded and in a vertical orientation, to help minimize downtime, minimize equipment damage, and maximize personnel safety.

Two pallets (10) can come together as shown, one inverted relative to the other and can inter fit which results in space saving when the pallets (10) are not in use. For example, the dimensions of the front and rear plates (12, 14) allow the rear plates (14) to be received in-board of the front plates (12) and resting against the frame members (20) of the other pallet (10). Once inter fitted, the volume of the pallets (10) is less than the sum of the volume of two independent pallets.

Abstract: A pallet having an upper deck and a lower deck secured by supporting block members. The upper deck may include a plurality of board members and may be provided with at least one lead board operable to serve as an energy attenuator. The lead board may comprise a composite material and may be formed using pultrusion techniques. The lead board may be separated or spaced from an adjacent board member by a gap or scallop type area and may be operable to flex inwardly or otherwise upon impact to absorb energy. The gap or scallop type area may be suitable to operate in combination with the lead board as a handle mechanism for grabbing or lifting the pallet. The lead board may also be used to attach shipping straps.

Abstract: A tray and slip sheet system for transporting aggregated bales of rubber that provides a manner for thawing rubber being transported, that prevents large rubber bales being transported from fusing together, and that does not damage or contaminate the packaged rubber when a forklift's forks are inserted between two stacked aggregated bales using the tray and slip sheet system. The tray and slip sheet system uses a tray sheet, a slip (when transporting more than one stacked aggregated bale of rubber), and a strap securing system. The tray and slip sheet system provides a system that defines an air recirculation system that allows the first two levels of bales of rubber stacked over the footprint to be defrosted in hot air chambers after winter transport. Systems not having ventilation slits do not allow the first two levels of bales being transported from being completely defrosted.

Abstract: A disclosed reusable pallet serves as device for packaging and shipping materials. Upon completion of the shipping function, the reusable pallet is configured so as to permit the legs and slave plates of the pallet to be manipulated, whereby the (i) physical nature of the pallet can be changed through a process of subtraction and addition, (ii) the pallet can be used as formwork for creating an object that can be used in a way other than for packaging and shipping materials, and (iii) the pallet can be altered through the augmentation of accessories that can change the function of the pallet.

Abstract: A packing unit includes a pallet, a structural base, and a fixing device. The pallet mounts an article thereon. The structural base has a fixed portion and is detachably attached to the article. The fixing device fixes the article to the pallet and includes an article fixing member slidably supported by the pallet. The article fixing member is movable between a fix position at which the article fixing member is engaged with the fixed portion of the structural base of the article to fix the article to the pallet and a release position at which the engagement of the article fixing member and the fixed portion is released.

Abstract: A slip sheet for use with unitized loads has a plurality of banding anchors. The banding anchors extend from an edge of the slip sheet or from a portion of the slip sheet tab. The banding anchors may be provided on one, two, three, or four edges of the slip sheet. The banding anchors may be folded up against the side of a unitized load to provide a place for packaging bands to engage the slip sheet. Portions of at least one slip tray sidewall are separated from the remaining sidewall to form flaps that may be folded down to function as tabs that help lift vehicles get under the slip tray.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for stacking objects on a transport carrier. The apparatus is provided with a forming platform, a loading platform on which a transport carrier to be loaded, such as a pallet or a roller container, can be placed, and a gripper which is movable between the forming platform and the loading platform. The gripper comprises a support frame which is provided with at least one row of parallel forks, which forks comprise an upright to which a horizontal beam is attached at a distance beneath the support frame, wherein the beams can be moved backward and forward in their longitudinal direction, wherein each fork is individually adjustable vis-à-vis the support frame. The forks are independently adjustable vis-à-vis the support frame.

Abstract: A load equalizing pallet apparatus for transporting a concentrated load and for use with load binders is disclosed and comprises a load equalizing base and a plurality of shoes. The base is constructed substantially out of wood, has a periphery and, in use, receives said load. The shoes are metal and, in use, are arranged about the periphery of the base and rigidly engaged thereto. Each shoe has a plurality of lugs, the lugs, in use, being engaged by said load binders to couple said load to said pallet.

Abstract: The present invention is a materials-handling pallet with a non-flat-deck, particularly for flexible cargo, which composed of any known pallet's construction, except that its upper deck is not flat. Moreover, the provided pallet can be reinforced by inserting or attaching reinforcing elements and can include a taut cable that prevents or reduces the declining of the upper deck when the pallet is loaded.

Abstract: A molded plastic skid base for a resin building is formed with all of its openings facing downward and with runners integral with a deck that forms a floor of the base. Replaceable wear plates cover the bottoms of the runners and have truck loading notches molded at their ends and a longitudinal channel in which fastener heads are positioned. Stake down slots are provided in the ends of the runners and wear plates in a diagonal orientation so as to be aligned toward the center of the building, below the base. The floor of the base is a grid formed of diagonally oriented ribs, at least some of which may be shorter in their center than at their ends, is crowned in the center and has openings which taper upwardly. A solid sheet may be placed over the grid to close it.

Abstract: A new pallet rail that is light weight, strong and environmentally friendly is part of an alternative modular pallet assembly. The rail includes a recessed portion with projections extending thereinto. A method of making the pallet rails and assembly is also disclosed.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and device for transporting materials from a shipping end to a receiving end. The device is a slip sheet formed from a flat sheet of material having a flat portion with four side edges. One of the side edges has a compressible tab portion that extends outwardly therefrom. The compressible tab portion has an elliptical lip and an upper lip that forms a convex air foil-type cross-sectional area. The compressible tab portion is canted upwardly from a plane defined by the flat portion of the slip sheet. The slip sheet can be used in combination with a captive pallet to transport materials. Further, a method of transporting materials is disclosed whereby the shipping and receiving ends house the captive pallet whereby only the slip sheet is transported by a push-pull or fork-lift type truck.
