  • Patent number: 5353278
Abstract: A magneto-optical disk comprising a substrate whereon a recording medium is formed, and a depression is formed on the substrate on the inside of the recording medium of the substrate. A center hub is installed on the depression such that the center hub is substantially level with a protective resin layer covering the recording medium. On the center hub, a flying head performs CSS (Contact Start and Stop). This configuration of the disk eliminates the occurrence of dust due to the abrasion and head crash, and achieves stable CSS. A method of manufacturing the magneto-optical disk, wherein the protective resin layer is formed after installing the center hub on the depression. In this method, since a space is not produced between the center hub and the protective resin layer, the stable flying characteristics is obtained. And a magneto-optical disk whereon small physical bumps and pits are formed on the substrate on the inside of the recording medium, which prevents the flying head from sticking to the disk.

  • Patent number: 5321431
Abstract: A method for forming an image in which image data defined of three original colors for forming a full color image is written in a mass of three kind of liquid crystal cells by beam light and the image is read by irradiating each liquid crystal cell with light corresponding to each of three original colors and printed out, the method including the steps of writing the image data into each liquid crystal cell by scanning beam light in a primary scanning direction and moving in a secondary scanning direction the three kind of liquid crystal cells arranged in the secondary scanning direction, and reading the image data by irradiating the liquid crystal cell with light of original colors while moving the mass of the liquid crystal cells in a direction opposite to that at the time of image writing.

  • Patent number: 5313555
Abstract: A Lombard voice recognition method for recognizing a voice input in a noisy background includes a step of matching and a step of warping. The step of matching matches a frequency spectrum of a feature pattern derived from the input voice to a frequency spectrum of a standard pattern. The step of warping warps a lower frequency spectrum of the feature pattern than a lower frequency side with respect to a frequency axis in case that a noise level of the background in higher than a predetermined noise level.

  • Patent number: 5306109
Abstract: An infusion supply apparatus is provided which can be connected with a stationary apparatus such as an overhead support (1) on the one hand, and with a patient transporter (3) on the other hand. In order to allow an easy and locking transfer from one such apparatus to the other the stationary apparatus (1), the patient transporter (3) and a mobile chassis (5) each have a coupling member (2, 4, 9) and a support for the medical appliances has a coupler system (13) cooperating with respective two such coupling members. The coupling system (13) comprises a locking apparatus (19, 20) which unlocks for selective release of an engagement if two coupling members engage the coupling system and which locks upon engagement of a single coupling member.

  • Patent number: 5297820
Abstract: In a line connector system an incorrect interconnection of different lines shall be excluded. This is achieved by connecting a female connector (1-3, 1-6) to one line and a male plug (2-3, 2-6) to the other line, the female connector and male plug having a defined total length when connected; the total length may for example exactly correspond to the distance between two holding members (4, 5) of a holder (3) which receives the connected coupling members with the lines connected thereto. The individual female connectors and male plugs, respectively, have a respective different length such that the total length of incorrect coupling members in a connected state deviate from the predetermined length, whereby for example an insertion of the connected coupling members into the holder is impossible.
