Abstract: A fuel injection apparatus for supplying fuel to an internal combustion engine is proposed. The fuel injection apparatus includes a pump work chamber enclosed within a pump housing, which work chamber is defined at one end by an axially displaceable and rotatable pump piston. The pump work chamber can be made to communicate, during the intake stroke of the pump piston, with a fuel inlet conduit via an electromagnetically actuatable metering valve and a check valve. The metering valve and check valve are combined into a common valve housing and are disposed in the immediate vicinity of the pump work chamber.
Abstract: An anti-skid regulating system for front-wheel-drive vehicles. The brake circuits are such that the brakes of one front wheel and one rear wheel, especially the rear wheel diagonally opposite that front wheel, are included in one brake circuit. Measurement transducers are assigned only to the front wheels, and the pressure in each brake circuit is regulated in accordance with the wheel behavior of the associated front wheel. In order to prevent an excessive drop in pressure under certain road-surface conditions caused by the tractive engine torque, the braking effect of the engine on the driven wheels is at least reduced, at least temporarily, in the event that the anti-skid regulation comes into effect.
Abstract: A current regulator is proposed for use in an electronically controlled, continuously operating gasoline injection system, with the aid of which a control element can be supplied with different current values depending upon the operating states of the engine. In addition to a current regulating phase during active operation, it is possible with the proposed current regulator to reverse the direction of current flow in the control element for the sake of blocking the supply of fuel during overrunning. Towards this end a circuit apparatus links signals relating to rpm, throttle valve position and temperature. Furthermore two safety circuit arrangements are proposed for the current regulator, so that in case of a failure of important components there is no impairment of safety, and emergency operation is assured.

Abstract: An apparatus for optimizing operating characteristics of an internal combustion engine on the basis of torque variations based on a test signal, wherein the maximum output torque is determined directly on the basis of the torque signal and the specific fuel consumption is determined indirectly from the torque signal via the efficiency. Either the maximum output torque or the minimum fuel consumption is optimized, depending on the engine load range. Additional apparatus is described for simultaneously optimizing the ignition angle on the basis of torque signals, wherein individual test signals are associated only with individual cylinders or groups of cylinders and the corresponding torque variations relating to the individual cylinders are ascertained and processed.
Abstract: A fuel injection pump for Diesel engines in which a rotating and reciprocating piston pressurizes and distributes fuel to individual pressure lines leading to the injection valves of the engine. In order to change the timing of injection with respect to the engine cycle, there is provided a mechanism to change the relative angle between the pressurizing piston and its drive means, which runs in synchronism with the engine. The mechanism operates hydraulically and is affected by the fuel pressure in the sump of the injection pump. There is also provided a hydraulic control valve mechanism which permits varying amounts of fuel to flow back from the sump to the low pressure side of the fuel delivery pump, thereby changing the injection timing. A primary control valve adjusts the sump pressure on the basis of engine speed while a secondary control valve adjusts the sump pressure on the basis of engine temperature in order to adapt the timing of fuel injection to engine starting and engine warm-up.

Abstract: A hydraulic dual-circuit brake booster in which two brake circuits are closed brake circuits. A dual-circuit tandem main cylinder is used in combination with a pedal push rod supported in a displaceable piston and exposed to the brake pressure directed into the system by the control valve. The pedal push rod and the tandem main brake cylinder are disposed coaxially and the brake booster is particularly suitable for use with anti-skid brake systems.
Abstract: A method for supplying an internal combustion engine with liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and a fuel supply system for the supplying the LPG into the intake manifold of an internal combustion engine are proposed. The fuel supply system includes a pump, which pumps LPG from an LPG tank at a predetermined pressure above its vapor pressure into a supply line, which leads via a heat exchanger to a metering valve. The metering valve has a metering piston, which is axially displaceable in a guide bore by means of an air flow rate meter and thereby opens a metering opening to a greater or lesser extent. Downstream of the metering valve, the metered LPG quantity flows via a regulating valve and through the heat exchanger, in which it at least partially evaporates and cools the LPG flowing to the metering valve. The supply of the metered LPG may be effected via a nozzle into the intake manifold upstream of a throttle valve.
Abstract: An apparatus for manufacturing metallic fine particles by use of at least one arc-discharging section located in a hollow interior cavity of a rotary body. Metallic material is dropped into the rotary body during rotation thereof. The metallic material is melted and driven centrifugally through an outlet where it impinges upon a stationary cooled wall of a surrounding casing. When the melted material strikes the cooled wall, the melted material forms small particles. These small particles are then withdrawn through an outlet in the casing.
Abstract: A method and a fuel supply system for supplying fuel to a mixture-compressing internal combustion engine with externally supplied ignition. The fuel supply system includes a nozzle having a flow cross section of a nozzle-like body which discharges into the intake tube. Compressed air furnished by a compressed air source enters through this flow cross section in the intake tube at a pressure such that at the narrowest point or throat area of the nozzle the air attains sonic speed. A fuel delivery line also discharges at the narrowest point or throat area of the nozzle, and fuel metered in accordance with engine operating characteristics is carried via this fuel delivery line downstream of a fuel metering valve. The quantity of air flowing through the nozzle should be a partial flow of the aspirated air quantity; for instance, it should not be greater than the idling air quantity of the engine, so that at little expense, a continuous flow of air through the nozzle can be effected at sonic speed.
Abstract: The invention provides an automatic channel box fitting position adjusting apparatus to facilitate positional adjustment of a channel box for fitting onto a nuclear fuel assembly. The apparatus comprises a position adjusting mechanism and a jig having a rod for controlling the position adjusting mechanism. The position adjusting mechanism includes guide rollers to guide the channel box to a correct fitting position. The guide rollers are tapered toward outer ends and are cantilevered at inner ends thereof.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for optimizing operational variables of an internal combustion engine, such as the output, or the fuel consumption, by means of the variation of engine variables and the detection of the relative variations thus resulting in the operational variables and a corresponding follow-up of the engine variables which includes a control device, with which the engine variables are preset and are variable at selectable times and/or upon the appearance of certain operational variables or changes in operational variables and the corresponding reactions serve for determining the optimum output and/or the minimum specific fuel consumption. Thus, on the basis of the most precise possible presetting of the various values, a change in the engine variables and a corresponding change in the individual variables in accordance with the particular reaction at that time take place only at fixed times or at fixed combinations of operational variables.
Abstract: A control mechanism for a fuel metering system in a combustion engine is proposed which makes possible a start control defined as load-independent or as nearly load-independent. It is the purpose of the control mechanism to avoid possible false interpretations of the load signal during extremely low rpm. The control mechanism comprises a function generator which, dependent on operational characteristics, determines or co-determines the signal at the load input of a signal processing stage of the fuel metering apparatus during start-up.
Abstract: A control device for internal combustion engines, especially for turbocharged diesel engines. The control device is arranged to generate a control distance proportional to the amount of air supplied to the engine. The control device includes a pressure chamber charged by the intake air pressure, which is separated from the back-pressure chamber by a membrane. A stop abuts against the membrane and is scanned via an intermediate lever by a supply volume adjustment element of a fuel pump. The reference absolute pressure in the back-pressure chamber is positioned between a throttle with variable throttle diameter and a throttle with fixed throttle diameter. A vacuum pump aspirates air via the throttle with fixed throttle diameter, connected to atmospheric pressure, and the throttle with variable throttle diameter is arranged to respond to the reference absolute pressure.
Abstract: A method for supplying an internal combustion engine with liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and an apparatus for blowing LPG into the intake manifold of the engine. The apparatus includes an evaporator-pressure regulating valve, downstream of which a metering valve having a metering piston is provided. The metering piston is movable in a guide bore and opens a metering opening to a greater or lesser extent. The adjustment of the metering piston is effected in accordance with the quantity of air aspirated by the engine by means of an air flow rate meter, as a result of which a quantity of LPG corresponding to the aspirated air quantity can be metered. The pressure at the evaporator-pressure regulating valve is variable via a control pressure line by means of a pneumatic control medium via a pressure control valve in such a manner that it is possible to regulate a mixture adapted to operating parameters of the engine.

The nozzle is disposed in the tubular body from which tubular-pouch packages are made and is directed at the pressing plane of the transverse-seam welding apparatus.
Abstract: There is proposed herein that a push rod of a fuel injection pump embodied as a radial piston pump which push rod further has a groove in its base be arranged to positively secure a roller in a relatively fixed position. The push rod is slidably guided in a hollow cylindrical wall in a sleeve. An apertured hub which forms an end wall of the sleeve has a slit, into which a prong which offstands axially from a fastening ring secured to said hub is arranged to protrude into said push rod. A helical spring supported by the sleeve presses a piston of the pump against the inside of the base of the push rod.
Abstract: A method of securing a hot wire to holder wires within a carrier body by means of heating and soldering material applied to the holder wires. In this method, holder wires are provided with a layer of soldering material and secured in a carrier body, while in a second operation each holder wire is placed in a tool between conductive poles of an electrical current circuit. In a third operation, the hot wire to be secured in place is placed at each holder wire between the conductive poles of an electrical current circuit which in the fourth operation is operative in a manner limited in duration, until the melting temperature of the soldering material has been attained. The wires are held in place until the melted solder solidifies. The method according to the invention enables the automated contacting of electrically conductive wires such that the connection is capable of withstanding both corrosion and high temperatures.
