Abstract: Adapters are provided for mounting automobile wheel assemblies of different sizes and types to the mandrel of a wheel balancing or tire truing machine. The adapters have few parts and precisely align the wheel assembly with the mandrel.
Abstract: An apparatus is proposed for transferring measured portions of loose material into packaging containers. The individual product portions, after being measured out, are to be filled rapidly and without interruption into packaging containers in such a manner that the product is not damaged thereby. To this end, the apparatus has a conveyor belt disposed beneath a container which prepares the product portions. The conveyor belt stretches out the poured product portions into a rapidly moving stream and directs this stream into a filling pipe leading to the packaging container. Limiting walls and a movable, endless belt form a conduit which guides the stream.
Abstract: A process for delaying the axial movement of the pump piston of a fuel injection pump of an internal combustion engine and fuel injection pump for completing the process are proposed. The fuel injection pump consists of a pump piston placed in a movable and rotating mode within a cylindrical bore of a cylindrical sleeve. The pump piston is designed as a combination piston with a damping piston of larger diameter, which will upon completion of the fuel injection period of the turn with the damping shoulder, border the damping chamber within damping bore of the cylindrical sleeve. This further allows only throttled amounts of fuel to flow through the throttling pintle into the suction chamber; the throttling pintle runs in a longitudinal direction and is located on the damping piston.
Abstract: An electronic control system for the fuel quantity of an internal combustion engine having self-ignition is proposed, in which above a predetermined load threshold the increase in fuel quantity is limited and a regulation of exhaust gas temperature is performed. The load threshold is preferably approximately 75% of the full-load value, and it may be dependent on operating characteristics, for instance on the rpm. Depending upon the engine type, it may be useful to regulate not the absolute exhaust gas temperature but rather the difference between the exhaust gas temperature and the temperature of the aspirated air.
Abstract: An electromagnetically actuatable valve which serves in particular to inject fuel into the intake tube of internal combustion engines operating with fuel injection. The fuel injection valve includes a valve housing, a shell core with a magnetic winding, and a flat armature which is firmly connected to a valve element having a tubular section and a spherical section. A guide diaphragm attached to the housing engages a guide edge of the flat armature in an elastic manner and guides the flat armature parallel to the end face of the shell core. The coaxial guidance of the spherical section relative to the valve seat is effected by means of guide faces of a guide ring. As a result, the movable valve element can have an elongated embodiment, and the fuel injection can be effected at any desired location of the intake tube, while the valve simultaneously requires little installation space.

Abstract: A sensor serves to detect acceleration, in particular for triggering passenger protection devices (air bags) in motor vehicles. A spring-restrained inertial mass subjected to the acceleration which is to be measured is deflected, and the deflection is detected with respect to a locally fixed reference point. Upon the exceeding of an acceleration threshold, a trigger signal is generated. A mass-restrained body has a first photoconductor, one end of which is acted upon by a light source. Depending upon whether it is in the state of rest or in a state of deflection dependent upon acceleration, the other end of the photoconductor is located opposite one of various photoconductors, which are connected to photo elements.
Abstract: A fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines is proposed which has a hydraulic injection instant adjuster, which is exposed to an rpm-dependent pressure established with the aid of a pressure control valve. The control of the pressure control valve is effected by means of varying the control pressure acting upon it. This is accomplished with the aid of a pressure valve, which has a slide exposed to a force variable in accordance with altitude, and the control pressure of the pressure control valve can be modified by means of this slide.
Abstract: A magnetic valve is proposed, in particular a fuel injection valve for internal combustion engines, which has a valve housing, a conductor coil mounted on a core of ferromagnetic material, and an armature which carries a valve body cooperating with a valve seat. The core has an inner cylinder and an outer cylinder, which are magnetically conductively connected with one another at one end face via a yoke. At the other end face, a circular-annular plate is magnetically conductively connected with the outer cylinder. The magnetic circuit is closed between the circular-annular plate and the inner cylinder via an armature, which has a plate-like element and a hollow cylindrical strut. The strut is located opposite the inner cylinder and with it forms a first air gap. The rim of the plate-like element of the armature is located opposite the circular-annular plate and with it forms a second air gap.

Abstract: A device is proposed for the supply of operating air-fuel mixtures including exhaust gases to internal combustion engines. Between the opening periods of the inlet valves of an internal combustion engine, precisely dispensed quantities of recirculated exhaust gas are pre-stored in the intake channel directly upstream of the inlet valve whereby a stratification of exhaust gas and fuel-air mixture in the combustion chamber of the engine is obtained.

Abstract: A fuel injection system is proposed which serves to inject fuel into the combustion chambers of internal combustion engines. The fuel injection system includes at least one inlet and one outlet line each for the fuel, at least one pump piston to supply the fuel to an injection valve, and at least one apparatus to adjust a parameter of the injection system, such as instant of injection, or quantity of injection, or both. Furthermore, the fuel injection system includes an electro-fluidic transducer which can be controlled by an electronic control device, the electro-fluidic transducer acting to adjust the desired parameter.

Abstract: A fuel metering device for a fuel injection pump is proposed in which the amount of fuel to be injected is metered by means of a magnetic valve. An electro-magnetic valve and a back pressure valve are placed in series in the fuel supply channel leading to the pump work chamber of the fuel injection pump, whereby the back pressure valve places the closing element of the magnetic valve in the open position during the supply stroke of the fuel injection pump, so that only a small holding current is required to keep the magnetic valve open. Rapid switching of the magnetic valve is achieved by a mechanical closing by means of a closing spring of the magnetic valve after the exciter current is switched off.
Abstract: An improved fluid-carrying line, such as a fuel line for distributing a liquid to several connections. The fuel line is formed by extrusion with a passage therethrough and, extending parallel to it, a bulged portion, preferably of rectangular cross-section, in which are provided two oppositely-disposed grooves. The grooves are formed so as to cooperate with spring clamps to retain fuel injection nozzles in bores disposed in the bulged portion of the fuel line.
Abstract: An apertured shield is disclosed having spring tongues, pointing radially inwards, each of the tongues having two lateral limiting edges and a longitudinal extent terminating in an irregular edge all of which edges define together an aperture. Adjacent spring tongues are overlapped in an area on the limiting edges, and are connected together at the circumference of the shield by being flanged into a retainer ring. The apertured shield is disposed in close proximity to the injection valve to cause a turbulence with superimposed spin flow of the medium flowing into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine.
Abstract: An air flow rate meter in an internal combustion engine which functions on the principle of a constant-temperature anemometer is proposed. The device includes a resistance measurement bridge with a regulatable total bridge current, and the relative orientation between the bridge diagonal voltage and the input voltage of a subsequent amplifier is variable. By means of this variation, an adjustment can be made of the set-point and actual curves of the air flow rate meter. In accordance with a first exemplary embodiment, a supplementary current is supplied to one of the connecting lines of the bridge diagonal and the amplifier; in accordance with a second exemplary embodiment, a voltage divider is located between the bridge diagonal points, and one of the voltage divider resistors is connected parallel to an amplifier having a specific offset voltage.

Abstract: A flow rate meter is proposed, which serves to ascertain the quantity of a flowing medium, in particular the air quantity aspirated by an internal combustion engine via an air intake tube. The flow rate meter includes a measuring body (3) which is pivotable in a flow conduit (2) about a shaft (5) supported in the housing (1) counter to a restoring force in accordance with the quantity of medium flowing through the conduit. The lateral gap (15, 16) between the measuring body (3) and the lateral wall of the flow conduit (2) is narrower in the range of a slight deflection of the measuring body (3) than in the range of a greater deflection. As a result, air flowing via the lateral gap (15, 16) is prevented from impairing the measuring range of the flow rate meter, so that even very slight quantities of flowing air, such as those at low engine idling, can still be measured by this flow rate meter.
Abstract: A blood vessel prosthesis and a method of producing such a prosthesis in which single fibers having a sticky surface are sprayed onto a rod to form a tube from which the rod is subsequently removed, the fibers being formed in at least one layer, the fibers being applied to the rod in one or more selected directions and, in one form, the fibers, when stuck together, form a tube into which connective tissue cannot grow, the prosthesis having properties such as radial elastic expansibility, non-kinking and the like adaptable to those of natural arteries and views the tube may also be provided with an inner layer of flexible foil for impermeability or an outer coating to provide a smooth outer surface.
Abstract: A method for mixture formation for mixture-compressing internal combustion engines having a turbocharger and a fuel supply system for performing the method. The fuel supply system serves to regulate the fuel-air mixture in accordance with operating parameters of the engine and includes a first fuel supply element disposed upstream of a throttle valve and a second fuel supply element disposed upstream of a compressor. Below the operating temperature of the engine, fuel is fed only via the first fuel supply element. Above the operating temperature of the engine, the feeding of fuel is effected via the first fuel supply element until such time as the charging range begins, at a predetermined intake manifold pressure (p.sub.um), and above this pressure only via the second fuel supply element. The transition from one fuel supply element to the other takes place in accordance with a predetermined timed function. As a result, good fuel preparation and good cylinder filling are attained.
Abstract: An apparatus for shaping, filling and closing packaging containers is proposed. In order to create an inert gas atmosphere in the head room of packaging containers which are to be closed with a foil strip and in order to distribute portions of a product in the containers, the apparatus has a gas-treatment device having a chamber which narrows toward the closure device. This chamber is defined at the top by the foil strip moving toward it, which is supported by a slide track, and at the bottom by the containers. Protruding into this chamber in the direction in which the containers are conveyed and overlapping the lateral rims of the containers are gas supply lines, which have gas outlet openings directed transversely with respect to their longitudinal axis. The outlet openings are disposed in staggered fashion on sides of the gas supply lines which face one another.
