The sheath is fitted tightly into the sealing device.

    Abstract: A device is proposed for controlling a flowthrough cross section in a controlled line, in particular in a line carrying operating medium in internal combustion engines, in order to exert influence on the idling rpm of the engine. The device includes an actuation member comprising an immersion-coil magnet system which engages an actuation shaft with which a first valve member and a second valve member are connected. The coaxial guidance of the actuation shaft in the valve housing is effected by means of two guide diaphragms held in place relative to one another by attachment to the housing on their circumference. The valve members are identical in shape and each cooperates with a valve seat provided in a valve plate in the identical direction. The air flow may be effected via inlet apertures provided in the tubular section of the valve housing exhausting via the opened valve seats to outlet apertures in the cap.

    Abstract: A vane-piston pump having a rotor supported eccentrically in a pump housing. The rotor is provided with slits for the passage through it of the vanes, and sealing strips are disposed at either side of the slits. The vanes slide along these sealing strips. Each sealing strip is subjected to the force of its own spring, and under the force of this spring, each sealing strip is pressed against the vanes.In this manner the spring forces can be kept smaller, so that friction is reduced. The vane-piston pump is preferably used in motor vehicles for generating compressed air in order to operate exhaust-gas treatment apparatus.

    Abstract: A fuel injection pump is proposed in which the quantity adjustment member has a travel limitation device in the form of an adjustable stop, which is adjusted in accordance with the displacement of an adjusting piston in accordance with a contour formed in the jacket face thereon. The displacement of the adjusting piston is effected via rpm-dependent pressure of the suction chamber counter to the force of a restoring spring and counter to a pressure which can be established with the aid of a pressure control valve in accordance with engine operating parameters. The adjustment of the stop is thus effected with the high work capacity of the suction chamber pressure, and the limitation of the adjustment is attained with the aid of the modulated pressure diverted from the suction chamber pressure.

    Abstract: A short-circuit-resistant trigger circuit layout is proposed for an electrical consumer for motor vehicles. The trigger circuit layout is located in series with a switching transistor, which is preceded in turn by an operational amplifier whose negative input is coupled with the junction point of two resistors parallel to the transistor and whose positive input receives both an average constant potential and a dynamic switching signal. In case of error, that is, in case of a short-circuit consumer, the transistor, which has initially been switched on, switches back into its blocked state after a predetermined time constant has elapsed. The short-circuit current flowing during this open phase can be limited by means of a resistor in series with the transistor.

    Abstract: An apparatus for measuring the mass of a pulsating medium flowing in a flow cross-section, in particular for measuring the aspirated air mass of internal combustion engines. The apparatus includes a temperature-dependent measuring resistor, whose temperature and/or resistance is regulated in accordance with the mass of a flowing medium. The measurement signal (U.sub.S) representing the mass of the medium can be influenced in accordance with the flow direction by use of a pressure-sensing element which has corresponding electrical contacts and when there is a flow reversal the pressure-sensing element, via a correction circuit, suppresses the delivery of the measurement signal (U.sub.S) to an electronic control unit. By use of the correction circuit it is also possible to subtract the amount measured during a reverse flow from the measurement signal made during flow in the desired flow direction. As a result, an error in the measurement signal (U.sub.S) during pulsating flow is prevented.

    Abstract: An electronically controlled or regulated fuel metering system for an internal combustion engine having one sensor each for the air flow in the intake tube and for the throttle valve position is proposed. In accordance with the signals of these sensors, influence can be exerted upon at least one of the operating states of lambda regulation, full load and fuel quantity limitation. The fundamental concept is that not only the air flow rate signal or only the signal relating to an opened throttle valve should be evaluated as a full-load signal but that the full-load state is presumed to exist when, with the throttle valve opened, the air throughput in the intake tube simultaneously exceeds a predetermined value as well. The same condition applies to full-load enrichment. The overall result is cleaner exhaust gas.

At the output of an integrator by means of a sample and hold circuit, an injection quantity signal is produced whenever the rpm signal (Un) is supplied to the integrator for the integration process and the duration of the integration is determined on the basis of the injection duration signal (SD).

    Abstract: A air flow rate meter apparatus includes an air bypass line, which branches off from a filter housing on the air intake fitting of an internal combustion engine and discharges at a restriction of the air intake tube upstream of a throttle valve. An injection valve is disposed in the restricted section, ejecting fuel in the direction toward a throttle valve. The air bypass line extends vertically and has a first U-shaped section, the connecting portion of which is located at a lower level than its legs. A temperature-dependent resistor in the form of a hot wire or hot strip is disposed in the downstream leg of the first U-shaped section, so that during a burnoff procedure of the temperature-dependent resistor a flow is effected in the direction toward the mouth of the air bypass line, thus preventing the aspiration of a fuel-air mixture into the air bypass line and thus avoiding the danger of ignition with the possible destruction of the temperature-dependent resistor.

The system for mixture regulation includes an integrator with an alternating integration direction which can be switched on during steady and quasi-steady operational states. It is further proposed that the integrator time constant be selected in accordance with operating characteristics of the engine and time during the regulation period. For mixture metering, average values are used based on switching values, for instance of a .lambda. sensor in the exhaust pipe. The proposed system is also useable in connection with learning regulating systems, in which corrected values for .lambda.=1 or values for .lambda..noteq.1 computed on that basis and these values then serve as initial values for new regulating cycles.
