Abstract: A fuel supply apparatus for internal combustion engines having a fuel injection pump for supplying a regulatable fuel injection quantity, a ventilation apparatus of the fuel injection pump, a fuel quantity meter and exhaust gas recirculation in accordance with fuel quantity. In the ventilation or overflow line for the pump interior pressure, there is a ventilation valve which responds at least when the pump interior pressure has attained a pressure value which results at an engine rpm outside the exhaust gas test range. In this case, the overflow line of the fuel injection pump is connected with the fuel supply container. At a lower rpm which is within the exhaust gas test range, the ventilation valve may be switched such that a connection is established with the pump inflow downstream of the fuel quantity meter. The ventilation valve may also be embodied as a magnetic valve which is actuated by pressure switches exposed to the pump interior pressure.
Abstract: A fuel injection apparatus in which the duration of fuel supply of at least two pump pistons of a fuel injection pump is determined by the closing duration of an electrically actuated overflow valve. The overflow conduits of at least two adjacent pump work chambers are interconnected, and the return flow of fuel from these overflow conduits to a chamber of lower pressure is controllable by the control element of the overflow valve which is common to these overflow conduits. The overflow conduits are each provided with one barrier valve, by means of which the at least one pump work chamber not under injection pressure at a given time can be blocked off from the pump work chamber which is placed under injection pressure at that time.
Abstract: The invention relates to a fuel injection pump having a governor which functions in accordance with rpm, wherein springs engage an adjusting member, of which one spring acts as the starting spring and at least a second available spring acts as the governor spring upon the adjusting member via a spring plate, the springs being supported, however, at least in the outset position, on the housing via the adjusting piston.
Abstract: A fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines having an electrical shutoff device is proposed, in which an rpm limitation controlled in accordance with the supply pump pressure in the suction chamber is possible in the event that the failure of the rpm governor or of the annular slide disposed on the pump piston means that the pump work chamber can no longer be relieved in favor of the suction chamber. To this end, a control location dependent in the supply pump pressure in the suction chamber is provided, in the form of a relief slide valve, in a second relief line which leads from the pump work chamber to the suction chamber. The relief slide valve is subjected on one end to the supply pump pressure in the suction chamber and on the other end to the force of a compression spring, and upon the attainment of the maximum permissible rpm limit, the relief slide relieves the pump work chamber, thus automatically enabling a hydraulically controlled rpm limitation.
Abstract: This invention is directed to a wobble-torque hydraulic transmission device which has variable forward and reverse speeds and is also provided with a straight-through drive feature. The device is provided with a coaster brake feature that prevents the device from running away when going downhill. Also, the device is provided with a brake assembly that prevents rotation of the piston-pump means during forward and reverse operation but permits rotation for straight-through drive.
Abstract: The support of a relief valve in a constant pressure relief valve of the fuel injection pump comprises a bolt and two openings for receiving it in the sheath-like wall of the movable valve closing body. The openings are embodied by a bore drilled through the wall of the valve closing body at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the valve closing body. The bolt receives a spring plate of a spring of the relief valve in a depression and is thereby positioned and secured.
Abstract: The invention disclosed relates to cutters for automatically cutting strips of material such as wire rope, electrical cable, or any other desired cylindrical, linear material. The apparatus proposed is best suited for cutting wire rope having a diameter of from 1/4 inch to about 1 inch. The cutting apparatus includes a controlled turntable upon which a roll of wire rope is mounted, the wire rope is directed through the tubular guide into two oppositely disposed rollers which are adjusted to size for feeding the wire to a cutter. Adjacent the cutter a V-groove platform is provided in which the wire rope lays during cutting. The V-groove is formed by adjacent doorsections that pivot to permit the cut piece to fall through the opened doors to a container below the table. The apparatus is provided with a suitable electrical circuit for operating the cutter motor, the grip roller, the turntable and controls for movement of the cutter and opening the V-groove doors.
Abstract: This invention is directed to a method and system of obtaining a culture and placing the culture in a gaseous environment for transporting and incubating the culture. The method and system includes a fixed or portable small cylinder of a desired gaseous mixture, a nozzle secured to the outlet valve of the cylinder, a plurality of different sized zip-lock bags and a plurality of petri dishes or an equivalent type means for growing a culture.
Abstract: A speed-lock restraint system for wheelchair systems having a frame assembly for a chair, arm rests and wheels, an inverted U-shaped main channel supported by said frame and extending between a front cross channel and a rear cross channel, an anchor supported from a floor plate having apertures therein, and a pivot arm with diametrically oppositely extending end projections, each of said projections capable of extending within said aperture in alignment and securably relating the wheelchair in speed-locking relation and restraint to a vehicle floor.
Abstract: An apparatus is proposed for measuring the mass of a flowing medium in an air intake tube, in particular, for measuring the aspirated air mass of internal combustion engines. The apparatus has at least one temperature-dependent resistor disposed in the flow of the medium, whose temperature and/or resistance is regulated in accordance with the mass of the medium; the adjustment variable serves as a measurement standard for the mass of the medium. The temperature-dependent resistor is disposed in a gap extending parallel to the flow of the medium, and a deflecting body bridging that gap is disposed upstream of the gap. In orer to prevent soiling of the temperature-dependent resistor inlet conduits for the flow of medium to the gap are provided downstream of the maximum cross section of the deflecting body and these inlet conduits discharge into the gap at an acute angle.
Abstract: A method is proposed for measuring the pulsating air mass aspirated by an internal combustion engine in a flow cross section. To this end, an upper reference value (U.sub.or) is determined from the rpm of the engine, above which value a reversed flow of the air takes place, and an actual flowthrough measurement value (U.sub.s) furnished by a flowthrough measuring device is compared with this upper reference value (U.sub.or). Upon the attainment of the upper reference value (U.sub.or) by the actual flowthrough measurement value (U.sub.s), a time period (t.sub.r) begins to run, which ends whenever the actual flowthrough measurement value (U.sub.s) has again dropped down to the upper reference value (U.sub.or). The time period (t.sub.r) is stored in memory and serves in such a manner to correct the flowthrough measurement value (U.sub.s) upon the occurrence of reversed flow that the polarity of the actual flowthrough measurement value (U.sub.s) is reversed, at the most for the time period (t.sub.

Abstract: An electromagnetically actuatable fuel injection valve for delivering fuel in internal combustion engines comprises a valve casing and an electromagnet core on which a coil carrier carrying a solenoid winding is mounted. The fuel inflow via the feed pipe can be directed past the armature and ejected via the valve seat, fuel passage and preparation bore. The solenoid wind is disposed in the interior cavity of the valve casing in such a manner that fluid can circulate thereabout. A blind bore in the valve casing serves as an accumulator for vapor-bubbles in the fuel which may flow back to the feed pipe via an exhaust line which connects with an annular groove and an exhaust outlet.
Abstract: A method in which a plug-in pump, controlled by oblique edges, is inserted with the aid of an adjusting device into a pump fitting of an internal combustion engine and which without subsequent correction of the supply quantity guarantees an identical supply quantity for all the plug-in pumps of one engine. With a supply quantity adjusting member held firmly in a test position, the plug-in pump is inserted into the test pedestal and rotated until such time as the supply quantity corresponds to the set-point supply quantity, this rotational position marked by a slash mark on the flange of the plug-in pump. With a governor rod, which is part of the engine, locked in the basic test position, a second slash mark is subsequently made on the pump fitting by means of a dummy pump. Once the dummy pump has been removed, the plug-in pump is secured in the pump fitting of the engine with the slash marks in alignment.

Abstract: A fuel injection system for internal combustion engines which serves to inject fuel into the air intake tube of the engine. The fuel injection system includes at least one fuel injection valve, which is disposed in a holder body and communicates with a fuel supply line and a fuel discharge line. The fuel injection valve is provided with a fuel supply groove, from which fuel supply openings branch off, and a fuel discharge groove, from which the fuel discharge openings branch off with the fuel supply groove and fuel discharge groove being axially offset linearly from one another. The fuel injection valve is radially guided in the guide opening of the holder body by means of support bodies of a fuel filter, which extends axially over the fuel injection valve, covering the fuel supply groove and the fuel discharge groove.
Abstract: The fuel injection pump of this invention proposes at least one cylinder, a piston, a drive rod, a guide sleeve for the drive means, a guide conduit embracing the guide sleeve, a restoring spring for the drive rod and piston, said piston being designed to execute a suction stroke under the influence of the restoring spring. The injection pump also comprises a locking mechanism comprising a bearing which extends into two recesses. The one recess is in the form of an annular groove located in the guide conduit. The other recess is a slot formed in the guide sleeve in its longitudinal direction. The locking mechanism prevents the guide sleeve together with the rod and piston from falling out after the injection pump has been assembled. The locking mechanism is inexpensive and easy to assemble because it requires only a single bearing in addition to already existing components of the injection pump.

Abstract: An apparatus for determining the depth position of venous thrombi in the lower extremities utilizes a unique property in .sup.125 I. This resides in the fact that in approximately half of all disintegrations, two photons are emitted simultaneously. These two coincident photons have, like separately emitted photons, an energy of approximately 28 keV. A scintillation detector perceives the coincidently emitted photons as one photon of an energy of 56 keV. The quotient between the number of separately emitted photons and the number of coincident photons may thus be determined. This quotient constitutes a parameter which is greatly dependent on the distance between the detector and the source of radiation, whereby there is obtained a possibility of determining the depth of the thrombus.

Abstract: A separately ignited internal combustion engine and/or an ignition chamber insert for insertion into the combustion wall of an internal combustion engine is proposed with an ignition chamber which is connected to the main combustion chamber via several overflow channels. The ignition chamber is composed of a forward section with a small, and a rear section with a large diameter into which a straight center electrode protrudes which is surrounded with an insulator in the manner of a common spark plug. The ignition takes place at the transition between the forward section and the rear section between ignition chamber wall and center electrode. The forward section of the ignition chamber is connectable to the main combustion chamber via first overflow channels which discharge tangentially into said forward section and via a second overflow channel discharging coaxially to the ignition chamber insert.
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring the mass of a flowing medium, in particular for measuring the aspirated air mass of an internal combustion engine. The apparatus has a hot wire disposed in the flow of the medium, the temperature of which is regulated in accordance with the mass of the medium; and its resistance is regulated by an adjustment variable which is a standard for the mass of the medium. The hot wire is guided on a sensor ring, which is of plastic, via support points. The support points are each fastened with a fastening section in a fastening slit of the sensor ring extending in the axial direction, and they each have a guide section protruding into the interior of the sensor ring through a radial slit. A guide wire extending in the flow direction is fastened to each guide section. The terminal support points in like manner, have attachment sections by way of which an electrical connection is made with the hot wire.
