    Abstract: A cement for attaching covering to walls, floors and similar bases includes an adhesive substance which may be glue or a synthetic adhesive and a filler material which may be powdered glass or quartz and which has the property of not interacting with the adhesive nor to be dissolved therein and to adhere to the adhesive substance only slightly or not at all. When the layer of cement dries after attachment, e.g., of the wall covering to the wall, the covering may subsequently be removed therefrom by simply pulling and without damage to either the base or the covering, because the cement splits into two separate layers, one of which remains on the base and the other of which remains on the covering being removed. In another embodiment, a layer of cement is applied to the covering and then dried. For attachment of the covering to the base, another layer of either splittable or non-splittable cement is applied to the layer of dried cement already present.

    Abstract: A diaphragm valve which may serve as an equal pressure valve or as a pressure equalizing valve of a fuel metering and distributing unit for an externally ignited internal combustion engine. The valve has a flexible diaphragm having a clamped diameter and a pocket in the diaphragm supports a valve plate. The valve plate operatively cooperates with a valve seat of the valve and has an annular recess arranged to receive a spring to center the valve plate. The valve also includes a stationary thrust plate which is concentrically disposed relative to the valve seat, which defines a knife-shaped edge which lies in a common plane with the valve seat and which operatively cooperates with the valve plate. The knife-shaped edge is penetrated by a plurality of radially extending means defining openings therein.

    Abstract: A fuel injection system for externally ignited internal combustion engines including a device for injecting fuel into an air stream and an air measuring device comprising a valve having an airfoil portion. The air measuring valve is pivotably mounted within the suction tube of the engine, thereby exposing the air measuring valve to the air stream flowing through the suction tube. The air measuring valve is exposed to a combination of forces. One of the forces is an impedance induced force developed in accordance with the principle associated with impedance type valves and as a function of the pressure prevailing in front of and behind the air measuring valve when viewed in the direction of flow of the air stream in the suction tube. The other force is a lift force and is developed in accordance with the airfoil principle and as a result of an air flow about the airfoil portion of the air measuring valve.

The uncontrolled pressure chamber (reference pressure chamber) of the differential pressure valve lies downstream of an apportioning recessed area. A given fuel discharge quantity from the controlled pressure chamber of the differential pressure valve is determined in accordance with the fluctuations of the pressure in the reference pressure chamber, and a positioning motor provided for the correction of the magnitude effecting the deviation of the reference pressure is further actuated in accordance with the discharge quantity.

    Abstract: An electronic control circuit for operating an internal combustion engine near its lean running limit includes means for measuring the scattering bandwidth of the cyclic fluctuations of the combustion chamber pressure. This measurement is made indirectly by measuring the angular speed a rotating engine member, e.g., the crankshaft, and by forming and storing an appropriate analog signal. Circuitry is provided which supplies a nominal value of the scattering bandwidth which is compared electrically with the measured actual value. An appropriately processed difference signal is fed to a fuel injection controller which changes the fuel-air mixture to the desired ratio.

    Abstract: The controlled variable of a system, in particular the timing of an internal combustion engine, is changed on the basis of a set point signal by a closed control loop which alters the relative settings of the breaker points and the distributor shaft, for example. The set point is a single value related to a specific set of magnitudes of engine variables. When the engine exhibits this specific set of magnitudes, the control loop is closed and the engine timing is adjusted to the set point. At other times, the timing follows open-loop, forward control signals such as provided by vacuum advance mechanisms, flyweight governors, etc. The apparatus includes a locking mechanism for locking the relative position of the breaker plate after adjustment by the closed loop controller.

    Abstract: A circuit to be used in association with a fuel mixture control system which includes an oxygen sensor in the exhaust system to determine the relative richness of the combustible mixture. When the engine operates at low speeds, its control response time becomes large due to decreased engine throughput. In order to prevent control oscillations from occcurring under these conditions, the time constant of integration of the oxygen sensor control loop is changed to accommodate to the longer engine response time. For this purpose, the zero crossings of the oxygen sensor signal are compared with the unstable time constant of a multivibrator and a transistor which normally shunts a timing resistor is blocked, thereby increasing the time constant of the control integrator.

    Abstract: A device which influences the composition of the operating mixture supplied to an internal combustion engine having a suction tube and a bypass. The suction tube includes an adjustable mixture quantity control member and the bypass line includes at least one throttle member. Structure is provided to vary the adjustment of the throttle member in proportion to the adjustment of the mixture quantity control member and thereby vary the flow cross section in the bypass. A second throttle member cooperates with the other throttle member and is controlled by a control device connected to the engine to further vary the flow cross section of the bypass. Alternatively, a stylus and cam structure are provided which are utilized to produce the further variance of the flow cross section of the bypass. In this regard the stylus is controlled by the control device.
