    Abstract: The fluctuations of the rotational speed of the engine crankshaft are detected by two torsionally coupled inertial discs with fiducial markers. The movement of these markers past an inductive sensor provides a signal which is fed to a logical control circuit that controls the generation of a voltage which is characteristic of the actual crankshaft fluctuations. This actual voltage is amplified and rectified and compared with a set-point voltage generated by a set-point generator. The resulting signal is used to control an integrating circuit which may engage the fuel injection system of the exhaust gas recycling system of the engine to change the fuel-air mixture so as to return the actual voltage value to the set-point value.

    Abstract: In an internal combustion engine employing intermittent, pulse-controlled fuel injection, the amount of fuel, i.e. the duration of the control pulses is made dependent at least on engine speed and the degree of opening of the throttle plate. These variables are converted to electrical signals which are used to generate an approximation of the optimum pulse duration values as a succession of linear approximations added to an initial value. The throttle angle signal is fed into an amplifier that limits the output signal above a certain value of throttle opening, e.g. 50.degree.. The speed signal feeds into a ramp generator and the throttle signal controls an initial value generator. The outputs from these generators are summed and compared with a maximum value and at least one minimum selector selects the lower of these values for use as the injection control signal.

    Abstract: An apparatus to regulate the temperature of the interior of a motor vehicle, including a room air temperature sensor and a heating air temperature sensor, with the room air temperature sensor providing a substantially higher controlled variable change per unit of temperature change and wherein the sensor signals are summed by a controller. The heating air temperature sensor consists of two series-connected temperature sensors of which one is thermally insulated. The sensor control signal is taken from the junction between these two temperature sensors so as to provide dynamic coupling of the heating air temperature sensor to the room air temperature sensor. In this manner, the room air temperature is sensed precisely and relatively more rapidly so that an excessively large fluctuation of the actual temperature is avoided if the heating output of the heat exchanger varies between a high and a low value.

The incandescent lamps are staggered throughout the length of the display with the light transmitting segments (fiber optics) directing light from the lamp source toward the center of the display, to present emitted light in a well defined line to which provide a linear or circular solid state display. The dot positions can be illuminated in any number of ways individually, sequentially or otherwise, depending on the selected mode of operation.

    Abstract: A pivoting member, especially the air flow rate meter of an internal combustion engine is disposed on a hub which surrounds a locally fixed shaft. Extending inwardly from the hub is a protrusion, for example a pin, which penetrates an opening in the wall of the shaft which is hollow at this point due to a blind bore extending axially into the shaft. The protrusion is held between two balls or rollers which are located in the blind bore and held in position by cooperation of a spring and an adjustment screw. The adjustment screw has a counter nut which bears on the end face of the shaft and also has gear teeth which engage a first set of threads of a pinion. The pinion has another set of threads of opposite and slightly different pitch so that rotation of the pinion causes differential rotation of the counter nut and permits very precise axial positioning of the hub which carries the pivoting member.

    Abstract: Circuitry is described for use with a fuel mixture control system of an internal combustion engine in which an oxygen sensor is located in the exhaust system and generates a generally bi-valued signal which is compared with a set-point voltage to indicate rich or lean mixtures. In order to permit control loop operation even when the sensor signal changes due to decreasing temperatures, the set point voltage is adjusted to remain between the two values of the sensor signal. This adjustment is effective only when the lower sensor signal exceeds a given limit.

    Abstract: A fuel supply device for internal combustion engines wherein the temperature of the fuel fed to an injection pump can be regulated in order to avoid temperature influences on the fuel metering operation. For this purpose, fuel is withdrawn in a controlled quantity via a temperature-controlled valve from the intake chamber of the injection pump, where the fuel is under the feed pressure of a fuel feed pump and the withdrawn fuel is fed, either by way of a heat exhchanger or directly back to the intake side of the fuel feed pump. In this arrangement, the inherent fuel heating process taking place in the fuel injection pump is exploited to regulate the temperature of the fuel fed to the fuel feed pump.

    Abstract: A vehicle with an engine, a torque converter, planetary gearing sets operatively connected with the torque converter, running means on either lateral side operatively connected with the respective planetary gearing set, a turning drive mechanism with two output shafts to rotate in opposite directions with each other and switching over means for selectively switching over output rotation directions of the turning drive mechanism. The turning drive mechanism takes the driving power from input side of the torque converter and transmits the power to drive either sun gear or planetary gears of the planetary gearing sets, thus to cause differential rotary speeds of the running means on one side as compared with the other side. The vehicle can thus turn very sharply when it travels at slow speed.

    Abstract: An edge controlled fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines, whose axially and rotationally movable pump piston, guided within the pump cylinder, has an improved leakage oil return system, which avoids piston wear and increased oil leakage even under very high injection pressures and relatively short piston strokes. The pump piston has an annular leakage oil collecting groove next to, but separate from, the recess that serves to end the fuel delivery, and a plurality of narrow leakage oil return grooves, which are formed in the outer surface of the piston diametrically opposite the recess and are connected with the collecting groove. Of these leakage oil return grooves, at least one is always connected with a leakage oil bore in the pump cylinder to a chamber of low pressure in the pump during the useful stroke of the piston.

    Abstract: A flow rate meter for gaseous media has a pivotable member rotating about a shaft in a conduit carrying the medium. The force of the flowing medium pivots the member against a restoring force. The constriction of the stream generates a counter force which would make the displacement non-linear unless compensated. The compensation is provided by a vane which extends into a pocket of the conduit and defines two chambers which are connected to portions of the conduit upstream and downstream of the pivoting member, respectively. In a particular application, the flow rate meter is located in the induction tube of an internal combustion engine and is provided with fuel flow channels which meter out fuel in proportion to the pivotal displacement and deliver the fuel to the air stream through one or more nozzles.

A second hydraulic jack, called a central jack whose body is fast to and coaxial with that of the stamping jack has its stem passing coaxially through the hollow stem and the head of the latter.
