    Abstract: A unit for delivering fuel from a supply tank to an internal combustion engine, having a disklike impeller driven to revolve in a pump chamber, on whose circumference a number of blades are disposed, and having at least one supply conduit, disposed in the region of the impeller blades and open toward the impeller, in a chamber wall defining the pump chamber on the face end and axially adjoining the impeller, which supply conduit extends via a split ring around the pivot axis of the impeller from an inlet opening into the pump chamber to an outlet opening from it. In order to assure that sufficient fuel can be aspirated unthrottled in the presence of gas bubbles in the fuel, in particular when the fuel is hot, the supply conduit is embodied in the region of the inlet opening as larger by a factor of 2 than the usual supply conduit cross section; the cross section of the supply conduit then decreases continuously, beginning at the inlet end, forming a compression conduit.

    Abstract: A fuel injection nozzle for internal combustion engines with direct injection including a nozzle body and an outward-opening valve needle with a closing head, in which outward-oriented injection ports are disposed. In order to form exact oriented fuel streams from the injection onset on, the cross section of the stream is controlled by the valve needle as a function of its stroke. The injection ports have a sharp control edge with a sharp control edge on the nozzle body which determines the injection cross section, and a sealing seat line formed by a hollow frustoconical valve seat on the nozzle body and a frustoconical valve cone on the nozzle needle, with a radially inner annular edge. The annular edge is disposed on an annular body secured to the valve needle and is aligned with the control edge of the injection ports in the injection direction of the injection ports. The annular body is secured to the end of the nozzle needle toward the combustion chamber either nonpositively or positively.

    Abstract: A valve having a magnetic armature, which is moved longitudinally in a valve dome; a valve tappet of this armature carries a closing member of a seat valve, which is open when in the rest position. The seat valve is disposed in a valve chamber, from which two pressure fluid conduits lead to face ends of the magnetic armature, which is sealed on its circumference side. When the seat valve is partially open, a pressure is produced in a partial valve chamber by means of a shaping of the valve seat as a hollow cone and of the closing member as a flattened end ball. In the control chamber remote from the closing member, this pressure leads to a movement of the magnetic armature against the tension of a restoring spring, which results in a reduction of the through flow cross section of the seat valve. The valve is particularly useful in slip-controlled hydraulic brake systems of motor vehicles.

    Abstract: A fuel injection pump of the distributor type for a multicylinder internal combustion engine has a pump piston that both rotates and is driven in the lifting direction for generating a fuel injection pressure in a pump work chamber, and a magnet valve that blocks and unblocks the pump work chamber in the direction of a relief conduit for designating the beginning and end of pumping. The rotational movement of the pump piston is generated by a drive shaft and its lifting motion is generated by a cam drive. For use of the fuel injection pump in an engine having more than four cylinders, the cam drive has a first cam disk connected to the pump piston in a manner fixed against relative rotation with front cams, and a second cam disk connected to the drive shaft in a manner fixed against relative rotation with front cams. An unrotatable but axially displaceable roller holder supports rollers that roll off respectively one of the cam disks.

    Abstract: A throttle appliances in which induction ducts are configured off-set with respect to the pivoting region of throttle elements, such that metering walls that are provided influence the air throughput at small opening angles of the throttle element in an optimum manner. The throttle appliance is characterized by its extremely accurately matched metering walls in a range of small opening angles of the throttle butterfly in the induction duct. The metering walls are achieved by a method of displacing a rotating chip-cutting element with its center (M) on a previously calculated path (B) in the induction duct in the axial direction with a radial offset. This method permits the manufacture of varied contours of metering walls in order to achieve desired air throughput/opening angle characteristics. The throttle appliance is usually employed in internal combustion engines which are preferably used in motor vehicles.

    Abstract: A fuel injection nozzle for internal combustion engines having a nozzle body with a conical valve seat face and with a valve needle displaceable in the nozzle body, the valve needle having a closing cone cooperating with the seat face in valvelike fashion. To prevent the sealing cone from repeatedly covering the injection ports that begin at the seat face, which can be caused by the natural oscillation of the valve needle during the opening stroke, the valve needle is embodied to have a high natural frequency. To that end, the following segment that adjoins the guide segment guided in the nozzle body and that protrudes freely toward the seat face is embodied as conically tapered toward this seat face. The end segment of the valve needle that carries the closing cone may also be embodied as a thickened head.

An electric motor for the pumps and relays for controlling the electromagnets and the electric motor. To make the design simple to manufacture and assemble, the cover is subdivided into a connector base and a covering hood that can be attached thereto. The connector base overlaps the electromagnets and the covering hood overlaps the relays, which are inserted into two connector receptacles disposed on the connector base and secured against axial displacement by the covering hood. The electrical connection of the electromagnets to the connectors and relays is effected via a flexible contact foil and a stamped screen embedded in the connector base.

    Abstract: A fuel injection nozzle for internal combustion engines for preinjection and main injection has an inwardly opening valve needle which is loaded by a single closing spring. After a prestroke (h.sub.v), in which the supply pressure in combination with the effective surface area of the valve needle controls the stroke, a stroke switchover to an interposed piston takes place, the effective surface area of the piston is less than that of the valve needle. Because the force of the piston that tenses the closing spring is reduced proportionally compared with the force of the valve needle, a flatter opening of the valve needle takes place after the prestroke (h.sub.v) than during the prestroke.
