  • Patent number: 4690373
Abstract: The magnetic valve for fluid control in a fuel injection nozzle includes a valve housing having a magnetic coil mounted on a core of ferromagnetic material and an armature, which is connected to a valve closing element cooperating with a fixed valve seat. After the excitation of the magnetic coil is interrupted, the valve closing element is moved toward a stop tappet by the force of a restoring spring and by the fluid pressure engaging the valve closing element. The stop tappet is supported such that it is displaceable in the opening direction of the valve closing element, counter to the force of a second spring. As a result, a large flow cross section is available for the fluid between the valve seat and a closing body of the valve closing element and a rapid pressure drop is made possible.

  • Patent number: 4690374
Abstract: A magnetic valve used for fluid control includes a valve housing, having a magnetic coil surrounding a core, and an armature, which is joined to a valve closing element which cooperates with a fixed valve seat. An end on which a collar is embodied, the valve closing element protrudes into an interior of a spring housing, which is slidably disposed counter to the force of a counterspring. A first bent end of an angle element is supported on a cover of the spring housing, while a second bent end grips the collar from behind and protrudes through a bottom opening of the spring housing. In the open position of the valve closing element, the second bent end is spaced apart from the collar by a distance a. In the valve closing element there is a compensation bore leading to the interior of the spring housing. After actuation of the magnetic coil, the armature displaces the valve closing element toward the valve seat counter to the force of the restoring spring.

  • Patent number: 4685435
Abstract: A safety device is proposed for an internal combustion engine which is operated with supercharging in combination with both a fuel metering system and a control unit for the instant of ignition. The safety device is characterized in that it controls the fuel metering in accordane with the volumetric efficiency of the engine. In the case of an excessively high volumetric efficiency, a defect of the charger or of the charge-pressure regulator is presumed. In order to protect the engine from mechanical and thermal overload, the fuel metering in this case is either reduced or shut off completely. The subsequent reinitiation of the fuel metering is suitably effected in combination with a late instant of ignition or a late injection onset in order to prevent a jump in torque.

  • Patent number: 4685433
Abstract: An rpm governor for fuel injection pumps of internal combustion engines, in which a control motor triggered via an electronic control unit processing parameters actuates a quantity control member of the injection pump via a pivotable governor lever. The governor lever is embodied in two parts, and the two parts are joined by a hinge and the lever part that is connected to the quantity control member is engaged by a spring in the direction of a decreasing injection quantity. The other lever part cooperates with the control motor and a pivot stop. As soon as the governor lever strikes the stop, the hinge yields, causing a change in the lever ratio and thus in the adjusting movement between the control motor and the quantity control member.

  • Patent number: 4674677
Abstract: An apparatus that serves to collect and account for empty beverage bottles in beverage stores. A carriage is provided as the receptacle, the bottom of which is automatically displaceable in height by means of a chain drive, operated via light beam emitters and tripping vanes, in accordance with the bottles continually introduced into the receptacle. The bottles, on being introduced, enter an intake rotor having sectors. This rotor alternately changes its direction of rotation after each bottle is introduced, so that the bottles pass into the receptacle in two different directions in alternation via guide chutes. Pyramids of bottles are thereby prevented from forming on one side only. Therefore bottle breakage is avoided as a result of the adaptation of the height of the bottom, and that replacing a full container with an empty one can be accomplished without difficulty. When used with a bottle recognition and evaluation unit, the apparatus can accept bottles and calculate the amount of deposit due.

  • Patent number: 4674805
Abstract: A brake booster, combined with an anti-skid apparatus for a master brake cylinder. The brake booster is controlled by a brake valve and has a first booster piston displaceable by a brake pedal via a tappet for emergency braking and hydraulically pressurizable for braking with brake boosting, and a second booster pinion, which is only hydraulically displaceable. With normal braking, both booster pistons operate simultaneously. In case of skidding the first booster piston is hydraulically fixed in its operative position during a first, low brake pressure reduction and the second booster piston is relieved of boost pressure and performs reductions in brake pressure. If these are not sufficient, the first booster piston is also displaced in the direction of its initial position. Whereby the first booster piston pressures against the tappet via a spring mounted between it and the tappet which, in turn, acts on the brake pedal.

  • Patent number: 4675721
Abstract: In a method for transmission of color television signals, at least two color information containing signals are coded using code elements comprised of a half period or a full period of a sine wave, the sequence of code elements forming at least one essentially sinusoidal code signal stream. In one embodiment, the code elements form binary code words for conveying different types of information, as hue and saturation of a color picture element. Alternatively, each code element may have an amplitude related to the value of the information to be transmitted, as saturation of a specific primary color. Each code word may comprise a plurality of portions related to different types of information, as different primary colors, audio information and the like. Two code signal streams each forming a sine wave of the same predetermined frequency may be phase displaced by 90 degrees, superimposed and employed in a composite video signal e.g. instead of and at the same frequency as an usual color subcarrier wave.
