Abstract: An improved method for fabricating electrode structures, particularly flame-front sensors, spark plugs and the like, wherein the center electrode, the insulating housing therefor, and an outer housing are dimensioned such that a small clearance space is provided between each of the parts; a fluid glue is inserted in the clearance or spacing provided in a fixation zone at one end of the structure by capillary action, so that the device is self-centering and heat sealed and not more than 3 mm in diameter, thus facilitating quick and easy installation in engine cylinder heads and combustion chambers.
Abstract: What is proposed is an electronic circuit for controlling the amount of AC power delivered to an inductive or resistive load which continuously measures the actual phase lag between the load current and applied voltage and automatically adjusts the firing angle to provide the desired amount of AC power. The circuit includes an auxiliary on/off input with soft start and independently adjustable time delays for the on and off functions and also incorporates an input for remote power level control and features a half-wave rectified mode which delivers pulsating DC power to the load.
Abstract: An apparatus is proposed which serves to control the quantity of exhaust gas recirculated from the exhaust gas system of an internal combustion engine to its intake side. The apparatus includes a pneumatic control element having a diaphragm, which defines a work chamber and actuates a valve closing member of an exhaust gas recirculation valve. Via a control pressure line, the work chamber communicates with a flow line leading to the atmosphere and a connecting line leading to the intake tube downstream of a throttle valve. A check valve opening toward the intake tube, a reservoir and a throttle restriction are disposed in the connecting line. A bypass line having a bypass valve embodied as an electrofluid converter control of the nozzle/impact plate type bypasses the throttle restriction.
Abstract: A throttle valve pipe is proposed, which is used for fuel mixture formation for mixture-compressing internal combustion engines with externally supplied ignition. The throttle valve pipe includes an intake conduit and a throttle valve is disposed therein and to control fuel flow. From upstream of the throttle valve fuel can be ejected by an injection valve in the direction toward the throttle valve. The throttle valve is made of ceramic and on its surface which faces the injection valve this valve is provided with an electric heating resistor film. In the pivoting region of the throttle valve, a liner of ceramic is inserted into the intake conduit and the additionally liner surface which forms part of the intake conduit is provided with an electric heating resistor film.
Abstract: A potentiometer chamber on the intake pipe wall of an internal combustion engine for containing an electrical potentiometer. The potentiometer chamber comprises a limiting wall, formed by the intake pipe wall, a sidewall extends thereto from which serves as lateral limits of the chamber. A partition made by injection molding from plastic, into which are embedded electrical contacts extends from the sidewall and a lid is placed on the partition. Therefore the limiting wall, the sidewall, the partition, and the lid form the chamber that encloses a potentiometer.

Abstract: A cross slide contour forming box tool and base which can be applied to automatic screw machines for contour forming desired contours of desired width on the outside of a workpiece. The contour forming tool is positioned on a transverse slide perpendicular to the drive axis. The transverse slide is driven by a pin and cam groove in the face of a cam so that the contour forming tool is positioned in accordance with the shape of the cam groove. The workpiece is rotated relative to the contour forming tool and the desired contour is formed on the surface of the workpiece. The contour forming tool is carried by a base including a slide and cam which functions to move the box tool parallel to the center line of the workpiece in order to form a desired contour width.

Abstract: A device for attaching screw caps to containers has a screwing head driven by an electric motor. To avoid a high peak torque in tightening screw caps, the screwing head is coupled with the drive motor via a soft torsion coupling, which absorbs the energy of the masses that continue to rotate. The torsion coupling is embodied as a tube of a resilient elastomer. The screw cap is prevented from loosening as the masses revolve backward by means of a reverse movement stop which is associated with the screwing head.
Abstract: The unit fuel injector has a pump piston driven at a constant stroke length, which pumps fuel at injection pressure to an injection nozzle as long as an electrically actuated overflow valve blocks the flow of the fuel flowing from the pump work chamber to a low-pressure chamber via an overflow conduit. The overflow valve is inserted between a first section which communicates continuously with the pump work chamber and a second section leading to the low-pressure chamber of the overflow conduit and is secured to a housing part laterally projecting from the pump housing. The first section of the overflow conduit comprises a connecting bore leading away from the pump work chamber, a control conduit controlled by the overflow valve, and a transverse conduit connecting these two.

Abstract: A fuel injection valve which serves to inject fuel into the intake tube of internal combustion engines. The fuel injection valve includes a valve housing, in which a nozzle body having a valve seat is firmly held. Downstream of the valve seat, the fuel is directed via metering fuel guide bores to a preparation bore, which is continued in the form of a preparation bore in an injection sheath. The injection sheath is held on the nozzle body by means of an adapter body surrounding and engaging the nozzle body, and it has an ejection segment within which the inside diameter of the preparation bore decreases in the flow direction toward the ejection end. Teeth are also provided on the ejection segment, pointing toward the ejection end.
Abstract: A flow rate meter which serves to ascertain the mass of a flowing medium, in particular the flow rate of the air aspirated by an internal combustion engine via its air intake tube. The flow rate meter includes a measuring device that is pivotable about a bearing shaft in a flow conduit, in order to reduce the measurement error at maximum flow rate of the medium, a connecting conduit discharges downstream of the measuring device and its opening remote from the flow conduit leads into the damping chamber.
Abstract: An electromagnetically actuatable valve which serves as a fuel injection valve for fuel injection systems in internal combustion engines. The valve includes a valve housing as well as a magnetic coil with poles serving as the core, with which an armature cooperates, which is connected to a valve element the sealing element of which cooperates with a valve seat in a valve seat body. The valve element protrudes without contact through a throttle bore in the valve seat body with a throttling element and is held in a sealing manner on the valve seat by the armature when the magnetic coil is excited. When the magnetic coil is not excited, the valve element is moved by the pressure forces of the fluid in the opening direction of the valve and is centered by the fluid flow.

Abstract: A fuel injection system for Diesel internal combustion engines, particularly vehicle Diesel engines, is proposed which has a full-load stop dependent on atmospheric pressure. The position of the full-load stop which adapts the injection quantity to the variable ambient air pressure is derived from an air pressure adjusting member and transmitted onto the full-load stop via a transmission member. A locking mechanism, which locks the transmission device in a plurality of positions counter to the force exerted by the full-load stop, is associated with the transmission member. The transmission member has two disks draggably coupled within a predetermined range, one of which disks is actuated by the air pressure adjusting member and the other of which disks cooperates with the full-load stop. The draggable coupling effects an adjustment of the full-load stop, if the full-load stop is relaxed, so that the air pressure adjusting member need exert no more than a small adjusting force.

The fuel distributor line is formed of two shell halves inserted one inside the other, of which the first shell half has a tub-shaped end into which the pressure regulating valve is inserted and with which it is securely fastened.

Abstract: A magnetic valve that is switchable in two directions is proposed. The valve comprises an armature, which is firmly joined to a valve body; at least two magnetic coils disposed in one plane and having ferromagnetic cores inserted in them; and two pole bodies, which are joined to the cores and with them belong to the electromagnetic circuit, and acts on the oppositely located flat sides of the armature. Permanent magnets are inserted into the pole bodies in such a way that the operative surface area of the pole bodies is divided into a number of zones, each having a homogeneous magnetic orientation in which the number of zones is equal to the number of magnetic coils.
Abstract: A fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines is proposed, which is embodied as a radial-piston/distributor pump, having an axially fixed and rotationally driven distributor, on the end of which that is remote from the drive and protrudes freely out of the distributor cylinder guiding the distributor an annular slide is disposed, which can be both rotated and axially displaced by means of adjusting drives. Both the quantity adjustment and control of the instant of injection are effected in a electrically controlled manner by relief openings provided on the distributor and control openings which are provided on the annular slide. All of the foregoing can be effected precisely on the end of the distributor which is free of moment.
