  • Patent number: 6220731
Abstract: A cyclorama light includes a housing having generally opaque rear, bottom and side walls and an open front wall defining a window that extends from a region proximate to the upper end of the rear wall and a region proximate to the front end of the bottom wall and generally extending between the side walls. The housing defines a housing axis generally parallel to the rear and bottom walls and normal to the side walls. An elongate reflector essentially extends between the side walls and is mounted for rotary movements about the housing axis. An elongate lamp having a lamp axis is mounted on the reflector to maintain the lamp axis substantially coextensively with the housing axis, the reflector being configured to direct light generated by the elongate lamp with a predetermined intensity distribution through the window formed in the open front wall in a direction which is a function of the rotational position of the reflector about the housing axis.

  • Patent number: 6204616
Abstract: A CRT driving circuit includes a cathode control circuit for controlling a cathode voltage of a CRT on the basis of a video signal created by a video circuit, a power supply circuit for creating a power supply voltage for each of the cathode control circuit and the video circuit, a switch circuit provided between the power supply circuit and the cathode control circuit, and a monitor control circuit for on/off controlling the switch circuit and the power supply circuit on the basis of a power-on/off externally inputted signal. In response to the power-on/off signal, when the monitor control circuit switches the switch circuit and the power supply circuit into an off-state, it turns off the power supply circuit later than the switch circuit. Even after a power-switch is turned off, the video signal is supplied to the cathode control circuit so that the cathode control circuit continues its on-state.

  • Patent number: 6172764
Abstract: An ink jet printer includes an MPU for outputting 1 byte of reverse data. This reverse data is loaded onto a reverse data register. Low nibble data in 4 bits is set to a data switch in response to a “state 1” control signal from a status control. Responsive to a “state 6” control signal, high nibble data in 4 bits is set to the data switch. Thus, the reverse data, configured by 8 bits in the “state 1” and “state 4”, is sent on a 4-bit basis to a host computer.

  • Patent number: 6171626
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for detoxifying shellfish contaminated with paralytic toxin. Actually no industrial method has been described that is 100% effective for detoxification of shellfish containing this type of toxins. Decontamination is achieved through a process involving the chemical treatment of shellfish. This chemical treatment consists of preincubating and then cooking the shellfish in an alkaline pH solution. This treatment can be combined with one or more other procedures for the reduction of the products' final toxicity, these other procedures including, for example, partial shellfish detoxification by depuration, removal of the most toxic parts, and commercial cooking/canning of the shellfish. The process reduces total toxicity levels in shellfish to values below 80 &mgr;g of eq. STX/100 g shellfish, independently of the toxin profile, or the initial toxicity present in the shellfish.

  • Patent number: 6165037
Abstract: A toy, preferably a plush toy, includes a main body and an electroluminescent display panel arranged on and forming a surface portion of the main body. When the plush toy is a toy pony, the electroluminescent display panel is placed, for example, on the blaze on the pony's face. The power source is arranged within the main body and a first ON switch is placed within one front hoof of the pony while a second OFF switch is placed within the other front hoof of the pony. The hooves are soft and deformable so that they can be compressed when squeezed to selectively actuate one of the switches. In this way, application of power to the electroluminescent panel by squeezing of the ON hoof energizes the panel and causes it to generate illumination in the region of the toy.

  • Patent number: 6147554
Abstract: A control signal amplification circuit for amplifying a control signal reproduced by a control head. The control signal amplification circuit includes a level detection circuit for detecting an output level of an amplification circuit body having an amplification factor determined on the basis of the quantity of negative feedback to thereby send out a level control signal indicating a result of the detection, and a variable feedback resistance circuit which is connected between a minus-input terminal and an output terminal of the amplification circuit body so that the equivalent resistance value of the variable feedback resistance circuit decreases when the level control signal indicates the increase of the output level, and the equivalent resistance value of the variable feedback resistance circuit increases when the level control signal indicates the decrease of the output level, whereby the control signal is amplified without deformation of its waveform.
