Abstract: A pollution abatement apparatus comprises an electrified filter bed preceded by a cyclonic mix chamber to remove wood fines and fly ash in a flue gas stream from a wood chip dryer heated by hot gas from an energy system that includes a wood waste combustor. The cyclonic mix chamber has dual inlets, one supplied with flue gas from the dryer and the other supplied with hot gas from the energy system.
Abstract: The present invention provides a data communication method and a data communication device capable of performing high-speed data communication by using a parallel link and higher-speed data communication by reducing a timing skew. A data communication method includes: a step of encoding data of N bits (N being 2 or larger) to transmission data of M bits (M being 3 or larger) on a transmission side; a step of generating a transmission signal in which transition takes place in at least one level of any of the transmission data synchronously with a transmission clock and transmitting the transmission signal to a transmission line on the transmission side; a step of recognizing transition in the signal of M bits received via the transmission line and detecting the reception data of M bits synchronized with the transmission clock on a reception side; and a step of decoding the reception data of M bits to the data of N bits.

Abstract: A semiconductor device includes a gate electrode GE electrically connected to a gate portion which is made of a polysilicon film provided in the inside of a plurality of grooves formed in a striped form along the direction of T of a chip region CA wherein the gate electrode GE is formed as a film at the same layer level as a source electrode SE electrically connected to a source region formed between adjacent stripe-shaped grooves and the gate electrode GE is constituted of a gate electrode portion G1 formed along a periphery of the chip region CA and a gate finger portion G2 arranged so that the chip region CA is divided into halves along the direction of X. The source electrode SE is constituted of an upper portion and a lower portion, both relative to the gate finger portion G2, and the gate electrode GE and the source electrode SE are connected to a lead frame via a bump electrode.

Abstract: When a DRAM enters an operation mode in which only a data storing operation is performed, a check bit for error detection and correction for plural data is generated and stored. Refresh operation is performed in a refresh cycle which is made long within an allowable range of an error occurrence by an error correcting operation using the check bit. Before the DRAM returns to the normal operation mode from the data holding operation mode, an error bit is corrected by using the data and the check bit.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a gravity/flotation circuit where a mineral stream, such as a flotation rougher or cleaner concentrate, undergoes a two stage size separation wherein: i) the screen of the first stage provides a coarse stream of particles greater than 110 microns and a fines stream of particles less than 110 microns; and ii) the fines stream of less than 110 microns is subjected to the second stage separation whereupon a cyclone provides an ultrafine/slimes stream of p80 less than about 25 microns and a middlings stream of p80 greater than around 25 microns. The middlings stream is subjected to flotation to recover nickel sulphide which is sent to final concentrate, and reject or depress magnesia which undergoes gravity separation to concentrate the MgO. It has been discovered that a large proportion of the MgO minerals in the concentrate are contained in the 30 to 100 micron size fraction and that they are well liberated making physical separation possible.

Abstract: ON resistance and leakage current of a vertical power MOSFET are to be diminished. In a vertical high breakdown voltage MOSFET with unit MOSFETs (cells) arranged longitudinally and transversely over a main surface of a semiconductor substrate, the cells are made quadrangular in shape, and in each of the cells, source regions whose inner end portions are exposed to the interior of a quadrangular source contact hole are arranged separately and correspondingly to each side of the quadrangle. Each source region is trapezoidal in shape, and a lower side of the trapezoid is positioned below a gate electrode (gate insulating film), while an upper side portion of the trapezoid is exposed to the interior of the source contact hole. The four source regions are separated from one another by diagonal regions of the quadrangle.
Abstract: An impact absorbing type steering column apparatus for an automotive vehicle is capable of adjusting a steering position and, when a secondary collision happens, absorbs impact energy thereof by moving a steering column supported through a bracket on a car body towards the front of the vehicle. The bracket includes a restricting portion for restricting a steering position adjusting range of the steering column. The restricting portion allows, upon the secondary collision, the steering column to move beyond the steering position adjusting range.
Abstract: The invention comprises: processing for receiving an OFDM packet having a preamble and the following data transmission symbol, in which packet the subcarrier interval of the preamble is set wider than that of the data transmission symbol; processing for estimating a DC offset occurring at a receiving side by using the received preamble; processing for correcting the DC offset on the received data transmission symbol, according to the estimation result of the DC offset; and processing for demodulating the DC offset corrected data transmission symbol. Thus, it is possible to estimate a DC offset and then correct the DC offset according to the estimated value, in the OFDM packet with no nul symbol defined there.

Abstract: The present invention provides a microcomputer wherein in a system which needs to respond to events developed at intervals each shorter than an erase/program process time, erase/programming can be effected on an on-chip non-volatile memory as necessary during its processing. An erase and program control program for an electrically erasable and programmable non-volatile memory is configured inclusive of a loop of the application of a high voltage pulse and data verify or the like, for example. If a program jumped to a subroutine for an address specified by a user is programmed in advance during this loop, then a process by a CPU can be temporarily jumped to the subroutine for the user defined address. Thus, erase and programming can be effected on a system which needs to confirm internal and external events every predetermined intervals or a system with a learning function, or the like during the execution of a user program.
Abstract: Improved citral derivatives, and fragrances and flavorings including the derivatives, that have a longer useful shelf life than citral and/or fragrances and flavorings including citral, are disclosed. In particular, the derivatives maintain the fragrance characteristics of citral, while lowering the allergic properties, and lemony flavors and fragrances with a longer shelf-life than citral, are disclosed. Also disclosed are methods of making the derivatives, and articles of manufacture including the derivatives. In one embodiment, the derivatives are prepared by replacing one or more double bonds in citral with a cyclopropyl group, which can be unsubstituted, or substituted with one or two lower alkyl, preferably methyl groups. The alkyl groups can optionally be substituted, for example, with electron donating groups, electron with drawing groups, groups which increase the hydrophilicity or hydrophobocity, and the like.

Each of the plurality of memory cells has a first memory portion including bipolar transistors and storing information in non-volatility based on whether a junction of the bipolar transistors is destroyed or not, and a second memory portion connected to the first memory portion and for outputting information to corresponding one of the plurality of output lines. The DAC has a first mode in which information is transferred from the first memory portions to the second memory portions when the information is written into the second memory portions, and a second mode in which the second memory portions are specified externally and information is written into the second memory portions.
