  • Patent number: 5257422
Abstract: The bowl (18) of a urinal is detachably fastened with threaded bolts (20) to a building wall (19). After detaching the bowl (18), it can be swung away from the building wall (19) by a limited amount by a pivoting device (26, 27, 28) for maintenance of control devices (23) and fittings (21). The drain socket (24) is connected to the drain elbow (17) by a flexible line (12). In the use position of the urinal, a partially flexible siphon trap (12) is wound such that it forms a drain siphon. When the bowl (18) is swung away from the building wall (19), the flexible line (12) is stretched, and it is not necessary to detach the connection between the socket (24) and the drain elbow (17). The present invention permits simple maintenance of devices and fittings arranged covered behind the bowl (18).

  • Patent number: 5258927
Abstract: A method and device for monitoring and measuring underwater physical therapy or exercise employing fluid elements in either enclosed compressible fluid filled chambers or aquatic exercise devices submerged in water. Measurements are taken via pressure ports formed on first and second opposite surfaces of the hydrodynamic device to provide a pressure differential signal. This pressure differential signal may be compared to a calibrated zero signal to form a measurement signal. The measurement signal is then converted to a digital signal for evaluation by a digital computer. The exercise performed may be stored and evaluated. The arrangement provides information with regard to the type of exercise performed and the degree of exercise performed.

  • Patent number: 5257831
Abstract: The rag tearing machine embodies an inlet station 1 in which the materials to be processed for a first time 23 and recycled waste 19 are poured, separately, onto the circulating belt 2. Several rag tearing stations (4a, 4b) are each followed by fan groups (5a, 5b), including side doors 8 access for which throw a material coming from the preceding station to a filtering box 9 in which powder, after a sharp bend 10 separates from the material by passing through a pierced plate 11; the material then falls down and passes to the following station and so on until the end of the machine. The machine further includes gates 14 for bypassing subsequent stations and if the material is considered sufficiently processed, the respective gate is opened and the material goes out of the machine through a duct 15.

  • Patent number: 5253640
Abstract: A process for calibrating a flow sensor in a respiratory system, with final control elements arranged in the respiratory system for influencing the respiration gas stream, is to be improved in terms of the influence of the qualitative gas composition of the respiration gas. To accomplish the task, the final control elements 4, 11 are switched, for calibration, over to a closed respiratory system with directed respiration gas stream. The drive unit 13 feeds the respiration gas present in the respiratory system through the flow sensor 9 according to a predetermined time-volume relationship. A calibration value for the flow sensor 9 is formed by comparison of the time-volume relationship with the measured signal of the flow sensor 9.
