  • Patent number: 5253806
Abstract: A heater (independent vehicle heater) which can be operated in a particularly wide range between full load and partial load, e.g., 1:10 to 1:15, is shown. This is achieved by the annular space surrounding the combustion chamber being divided into two partial compartments and by supplying the combustion air to these partial compartments. A control element (back-pressure-controlled control element), which separates some of the air passage openings between the annular space and the combustion chamber from the passage of air, is arranged in the combustion air line.

  • Patent number: 5252286
Abstract: A machine for molding is equipped with a toggle mechanism for moving one of the die-holders. The movable die holder slides on columns. The columns are attached at one end to a stationary die-holder and at another end to a closing plate. The toggle mechanism is preferably a double toggle and connects the closing plate to the movable die-holder. A control ring also slides on the columns and is connected to the toggle mechanism by connecting rods. A hydraulic actuator is used to apply force to the movable die-holder to move it towards and away from the stationary die-holder. The control ring and the connecting rods are designed so that the toggle mechanism extends outside the columns during movement of the movable die-holder away from the stationary die-holder.

  • Patent number: 5252265
Abstract: A technique is described for the production of manufactured articles of composite material of large thickness, the matrix of which is composed of polymerizable resins, using electron beams. To achieve the polymerization of the matrix, it is proposed to induce the adhesion of the resin of a layer (1) of already polymerized material with the resin of a second layer (3) to be polymerized by irradiating the second layer and the zone of adhesion between the first and the second layer with electron beams (F) of appropriate energy. The method can also be used for the welding of a plurality of layers or portions of already polymerized material. This permits the polymerization of matrices of such a thickness as not to be penetrated in a single phase by electron beams of limited energy. The treatment by successive phases performs the polymerization of the resin matrix in a manner equivalent to a simultaneous treatment over the entire thickness.
