  • Patent number: 5238615
Abstract: A method for joining together tubular plastic products (1, 2) by heating the joint faces of the plastic products (1, 2) which have been chamfered at least partly in advance, and by passing molten plastic material into the space (4), that is formed between the opposite joint faces. The fixing of the tubular plastic products (1, 2) and the feed of the molten plastic material take place with the aid of a mold tool (5) which is applied onto the space (4), and molten plastic material is passed rapidly into the hollow space between the mold tool, (5) and the joint faces through a feed stub (6) provided in the mold tube.

Abstract: A device for firing projectiles (9) through an electrically heated plasma including a combustion chamber (12) which is provided on the breech side and the muzzle side with an electrode each, between which an arc generating plasma burns. A cartridge (18), which contains a material that decomposes into a low-molecular-weight gas under the effect of the arc, can be introduced into the combustion chamber (12). A current conductor, which connects a breech-side electrode (10) to the muzzle-side electrode (7) extending annularly around the muzzle-side end of the cartridge (18), is arranged in the longitudinal axis of the cartridge (18). The current conductor (20) consists of a plurality of strands (21) which extend radially to the outside from the longitudinal axis toward the annular electrode (7) at least at the muzzle-size end of the cartridge (18).

Abstract: A duct (12) movable axially within a tubular wall (1) is provided so as to form with the latter a cavity (I) with grill (14) and an expansion piece (7) shaped so as to cooperate with the upper edge of the duct (12) when the latter is raised so as to close it off and when the latter is lowered so as to form an annular space. A body (18) with holes (20) for entry of the air into the cavity (I) is provided at the end of the tubular wall (1). The duct (12) is movable through a central hole (18A) of the body (18) and has a collar (24) which closes off the holes (20) when the duct (12) is raised, and has holes (26) which, when the duct (12) is raised, are located above the body (18) and, when the duct (12Is lowered, are closed off by the wall of the hole (18A). The suction current is created in the duct (12) during the two phases of tensioning and reversing.

  • Patent number: 5235971
Abstract: An anesthetic metering device is provided with a temperature-stabilized anesthetic vapor source, from which anesthetic vapor 14 is metered into a carrier gas stream via a delivery line 8 with a metering valve 11 that can be controlled by a control unit 6. The arrangement is provided so that uncontrolled evaporation of anesthetic is prevented. To accomplish this task, the anesthetic vapor source is designed as a vaporizer chamber 2 filled with liquid anesthetic 3, and a gas delivery element 9 generating the metering pressure P.sub.I is present in front of the metering valve 11.

  • Patent number: 5236531
Abstract: This invention relates to the method for manufacturing a variety of square bottom containers by folding to the same side both of two brims of a sheet-shaped container of raw material of paper, aluminum foil, plastic laminate film and the like such that the brims mutually abut each other, forming a bonding agent or heat-seal layer on the outsides of both these butted brims, then forming the lower portion into a W-shape with an inverted V-shaped fold being provide in the midway, and then press-fitting the bonding agent or heat-seal layer from the outside of the formed sheet for its bonding or deposition, the press fit formed sheet defining a square bottom container having a bottom laminate which is flat with no overlap and having a heat seal film or the like which doesn't come inside the container. The method is efficient and the containers can be manufactured quite easily.

  • Patent number: 5237140
Abstract: An a-c/d-c microwave oven adapted to be connected to an a-c and/or d-c power source. The oven has an inverter for converting d-c power to a-c power to feed power to a magnetron generating high-frequency energy via a transformer. Input from the d-c and a-c power sources is selectively fed to the magnetron. A first primary winding is fed commercial a-c power. A second primary winding is fed on a-c voltage from the inverter. A secondary winding connecting to the magnetron is wound on the transformer. A predetermined voltage is adjusted in the secondary winding of the transformer by adjusting the frequency of the a-c voltage from the inverter at a higher level than the commercial a-c power, which is fed to the second primary winding.
