Abstract: A sensing head of a measuring machine comprises three straight line guiding systems for respective x, y and Z directions. For weight compensation of each single straight line guiding system, a first spring pair is arranged between a fixed beam element and a beam of the first straight line guiding system. This compensates the weight loading the first straight line guiding system. Between the beam of the first straight line guiding system and a beam of the second straight line guiding system, a second spring pair is arranged which compensates the weight loading the second straight line guiding system. Between the beam of the second straight line guiding system and a beam of the third straight line guiding system, a third spring pair is arranged which compensates the weight loading the third straight line guiding system.
Abstract: A device for forming a doubly turned hem on lengths of fabric with a folding sleeve, in the inner space of which a flexible sheet is provided as auxiliary folding device, which presses the fabric against the guiding surface of the folding sleeve and, as the start of fabric is pushed through the folding sleeve, constantly follows its cross-sectional shape. The effective area of the auxiliary folding device can have a fur-like surface, the pile of which is aligned in the direction of advance of the material to be sewn. In order to open a gap for the unimpeded introduction of the edge of the fabric, a shaped metal plate, by means of which the auxiliary folding device is coiled, is movable between the guiding surface of the folding sleeve and the auxiliary folding device.
Abstract: In a device to secure the shoulder straps of a backpack or rucksack, fittings are fitted to the upper ends of the shoulder straps and are pivotally mounted together on a retaining piece. In the preferred embodiment the fittings are situated in the middle of the rucksack and the pivotal mounting of one or both shoulder straps is constructed so as to be continuously adjustable in various angles at the retaining piece. The arrangement permits adjustment of the lateral distance between the shoulder straps in the shoulder region both simply and rapidly to suit the build of the wearer, so that the shoulder straps are always supported in the optimum position.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for determining and regulating the amount of advance of a plurality of workpiece plies at a sewing machine which is affected by scanning the individual plies while recording the stitches being formed between two separate feed points and actuating top and bottom feed devices to achieve a desirable feed of each ply. Signs present or to be applied at any desired point of the workpiece plies are scanned at two successive points, and pulses generated by a pulse generator connected with the main shaft of the machine are summed during this period of time. The pulse sum is compared with a number of pulses which depends on the mutual spacing of the scanning points and on the adjusted stitch length. For two work plies the pulse sums formed between the recognition of the signs are compared directly. As signs to be scanned are used either imprinted marks, the jags of a pinked workpiece edge, or the bright, dark structure of a surface section of the workpiece.

Abstract: The invention concerns the production of three-dimensional thread packages. Vertical rods (11) are maintained in a stationary arranged network by engagement through perforated plates (12,13). A thread (10) is deposited from above this network by a shuttle (9) in a sinuous path between upper end portions of the rods (11). The layers of thread thus formed in succession, supported by the perforated plate (12) which undergoes a descending movement, are compacted by a perforated plate (7) which is lowered upon the finishing of each layer. A lacing arrangement (35) replaces the rods (11) by threads after the thread laying phase.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for forming a uniform, extremely thin film on the surface of plastics molded articles, films, sheets, synthetic paper, fibers, metal, and other objects, the film containing an anti-static agent, anti-fogging agent, anti-corrosive agent, mildewproofing agent, and the like. According to the method of the present invention, a homogenous solution or emulsion is prepared by dissolving a surfactant and agents in a solvent such as water with the aid of ultrasonic waves, and the solution is made into aerosol of fine particles by means of cavitation. The aerosol is brought into contact with an object, whereby the fine particles of aerosol are deposited on the object and a thin film of the solution is formed on the surface of the object due to the difference in surface tension between the surfactant and the object. After evaporation of the solvent, the agents are left on the surface of the object in the form of an extremely thin film.
Abstract: A packaging machine is described which comprises a pair of squeezing guide rolls opposite each other and movable to and from a tubular plastic film, perpendicularly thereto; a pair of heat-sealing members located under the guide rolls and operating in the same manner; and a multi-purpose unit consisting of a compressing component, a cooling component and a cutting component. This unit is divided into two members operating similarly to the other parts of the machine. The film container, after having been charged is moved downwardly and guided first to the heat-sealing members, then to the compressing-cooling-cutting unit by drive rollers means. The displacements are effected for predetermined distances, so as to insure perfect sealing and severing of the containers.
Abstract: An improved device for separating out single coins from a collective plurality of coins solves the problem of separating stacked coins, namely two or three coins lying one upon the other with their total thickness being smaller than or equal to that of the thickest coin. In accordance with the device, to separate the coins, a second coin stripping arm (15) embodied by a narrow and thin guide finger (16) is provided downstream of a first coin stripper (14), considered in the direction of rotation (Arrow 5) of the coin disc (3), the first coin stripper (14) being adjusted to the thickness of the thickest coin, and the guide finger (16) projecting beyond the disc outer edge and guiding the respective underlying coins (11) on the coin disc (3) directly into a guideway (8) above which a first conveyor belt (12) is disposed.
Abstract: A reactor for carrying out exothermic and endothermic catalytic reactions includes a contact tube bundle and radial admission and removal of a heat transfer medium via an annular duct for each, and a circulation through an external heat exchanger. Two or more circulating pumps are connected to the annular ducts and are distributed over the circumference. The heat exchanger can be arranged in shunt to the main circulation and be connected with individual sections of at least one annular duct via setting elements.

Abstract: A method and arrangement for controlling the operation of turbo compressors, particularly those of high capacity, utilizes flow rate and pressure values for an analog controller as well as a computing circuit to optimize the operation of the compressor. The compressor is assumed to have a characteristic basic linear blowoff line and an optimum non-linear blowoff line on its pressure/flow curve. The calculating or computing circuit computes an error signal representing a difference between the basic and optimum blowoff line at an operating pressure and applies the signal to the analog controller which controls the compressor to its optimum extent. An analog system connected to the controller maintains control at least according to the basic blowoff line if the computing circuit fails.
