Abstract: An electric powered vehicle includes a traction motor powered from a source of switched DC power. The motor includes a tachometer for measuring the rotational velocity of the motor and for providing a tachometer signal indicative thereof. A low pass filter low pass filters the tachometer signal and produces a reference tachometer signal. A summing circuit combines the tachometer signal and the reference tachometer signal to produce a deviation signal. The deviation signal is provided to a signal processing circuit which includes a comparator and a reference value generator. The comparator compares the output of the summing circuit to a reference value provided by the reference value generator and produces a binary changing signal as a function of the comparison.

Abstract: A vehicle seat has an upholstery which is integrated in both eat part and in the backrest. A ventilation layer is provided through which air can flow, and an air-permeable upholstery cover spans the surface facing the sitting person, as well as having devices for ventilating the ventilation layer. For improving the sitting climate comfort, which also includes a rapidly effective cooling of the seat surfaces heated by sun radiation when the vehicle is entered and the removal of the transpiration moisture, and also for avoiding disturbing air connection hoses between the vehicle seat and the air-conditioner, the ventilation layer is arranged on an upholstery layer. Devices for ventilating the ventilation layer have a plurality of electrically driven miniature fans integrated in the upholstery layer. One miniature fan respectively is arranged in an air duct penetrating the upholstery layer from the underside to the ventilation layer.

Abstract: Connectors for joining protective ducts and/or hoses for the installation of insulated electrical conductors and/or cables in an aircraft are equipped with lids that are easily opened even without a tool. The lids are preferably permanently secured to the connectors. The lids are constructed as roll-up tapes or as a flat or curved plates. The curved plates are held in place in the closed condition by springs. A flat plate lid is held in place, for example by a circlip, or by a leg spring or by a hinge.
Abstract: A wall structure for fuel-cooled engine walls, with a cooling structure having an inner wall to which hot gas is admitted; an outer wall located at a spaced location therefrom; as well as a plurality of webs, which connect the two walls and divide the intermediate space between the walls into cooling channels (19), and with a support structure in the form of at least one stable outer jacket. The cooling structure is slotted from the outside in the area of each web, wherein the slots (22) pass through the outer walls and the centers of the webs into the area of the inner wall. The support structure is designed as an elastically nonrigid support structure at least in the area joining the cooling structure and/or is located at a spaced location from the cooling structure.
Abstract: An air bag curtain, particularly for a vehicle window, comprises several tube-shaped chambers which are arranged side-by-side. The chambers are spaced from one another and can be filled with gas and have a largely circular cross-section after being filled with gas. In the effective gas-filled position, the air bag curtain extends between two lateral fastening points. The chambers, which are crossed by a tension line connecting the two fastening points with one another, are constructed with a bulge in the crossing area which results in the oval cross-section being oriented approximately in the direction of the tension line.
Abstract: The boundary layer flow along the surface of an aircraft rudder assembly is controlled by suction applied through perforations primarily installed in the leading edge of the rudder assembly. The control is such that a laminar flow is enforced or at least such that any turbulent flow is displaced so that it begins downstream of the rudder assembly leading edge. Suction air chambers are arranged along the leading edge inside a nose box of the rudder assembly and these boxes are connected through air ducts and a valve system to an exhaust fan. The valve system and the exhaust fan are controlled by a central processing unit providing a flow controller for the suction in response to control signals produced from rated values and sensed actual valves to provide a uniform distribution of the suction along the leading edge of the rudder assembly. The suction system may be switched over to a de-icing mode by blowing warm air out through the perforations in a controlled manner.

Abstract: In a vehicle operating pedal unit, which may include clutch and brake pedals, mounted on a front wall of a vehicle passenger compartment and including a pedal support structure on which the pedals are pivotally supported by bolts, the pedal support structure includes a portion which extends upwardly so as to be disposed on top of a transverse frame member to which it is mounted and which is sufficiently strong to withstand forces to which a brake unit mounted on the opposite side of the front wall may be subjected during a crash. At least the brake pedal has an extension projection to a point adjacent the transverse frame member to prevent the brake pedal from being tilted by a brake operating rod into the leg room of the vehicle if the brake unit and the operating rod are pushed inwardly during a crash.
Abstract: A method for regulating the full-load injection quantity of a diesel internal combustion engine having a fixed steady state full-load injection quantity includes the following phases: a first transient phase, in which the full-load injection quantity is increased to a value which exceeds the steady state full-load injection quantity; a second time-limited phase, in which the full-load injection quantity is maintained at the excess level and, at the end of this phase, is reduced to the full-load injection quantity in the steady state; and a third phase, in which the full-load injection quantity in the steady state is supplied to the diesel internal combustion engine in a known way.
Abstract: A method for controlling a compressor of a motor vehicle air conditioner that is designed for variable power draw and is driveable by the vehicle drive. The power draw of the compressor is subject to an upper limit that is set variably as a function of the difference between the maximum drive torque that the vehicle drive can deliver and the drive torque that is required to drive the vehicle. During a vehicle acceleration maneuver, the air conditioning power of the air conditioner is reduced only to the degree required to reach the desired acceleration.
Abstract: In a hydraulic power steering for a motor vehicle with a hydraulic servomotor and a servovalve arrangement in communication with opposite servomotor actuating chambers by way of separate communication conduits through which the actuating chambers can be pressurized or depressurized for the operation of the servomotor depending on a force applied by an operator to a steering means, the communication conduits include valve arrangements permitting, when they are open, the release of hydraulic fluid from the actuating chambers but blocking the release of hydraulic fluid when they are closed thereby hydraulically locking the power steering.

Abstract: A ventilation nozzle for vehicle interiors, having a front screen which is visible in the vehicle interior and having a multiplicity of screen openings. An air-guide block, made of elastic material, is arranged upstream, in the air-flow direction, of the front screen, having a multiplicity of parallel air ducts passing longitudinally through it. An adjusting device changes the flow direction of the air flowing out of the front screen. For the purpose of producing diffused ventilation, the air-guide block is placed nonpositively against the front screen and the adjusting device is additionally designed in such a manner that it is able to raise the air-guide block, counter to a biasing force, from the front screen.
Abstract: A process and an arrangement for determining the position of a vehicle moving on a given track by using a map matching process is provided. At least three types of position measuring data in the form of object site data, path length data and route course data are obtained. By use of a computer unit, for each type of measuring data, a data correlation is carried out with a respective pertaining stored desired data quantity for the determination of respective position results which then are evaluated, in an m-out-of-n decision making process. In this process, a given number m of the n determined position results is taken into account. With comparatively low expenditures, this permits a reliable and error-tolerant vehicle position determination for use, for example, for railway vehicles.
