  • Patent number: 5161442
Abstract: A cross cutter for a running web of paper which is transported along a horizontal path has an upper rotary knife holder above and a lower rotary knife holder below the horizontal path. The holders carry knives which extend transversely of the path, and each holder further carries an elastic lip-shaped deflector which is located behind the respective knife and serves to maintain the leader of the web behind the separated length of the web in or close to the path so that the leader can enter a transporting unit which advances the severed lengths of the web to a stacking or other processing station. The lower deflector is installed immediately behind and the upper deflector is spaced apart from the rear side of the respective knife.

  • Patent number: 5161644
Abstract: A system is provided for conveying fluid lubricant forwardly to lubricate a forward bearing support member (26) of a vehicular tandem axle assembly (100). The system includes a first open-sided trough (38) in to which the fluid lubricant is deposited by a differential gear assembly (14). Trough (38) is in fluid communication with a second open-sided trough (40) that slopes forwardly and downwardly to the center line of bearing member (26) and is effective to enable the fluid lubricant to flow towards and lubricate bearing member (26) while the vehicle is ascending an incline.

  • Patent number: 5162426
Abstract: A coating composition containing a film-forming organosilane polymer and a sterically dispersed polymer having macromonomer chains which react with the silane functionality of the organosilane polymer. Silane functionalities in the core of the dispersed polymer provides post-cure crosslinking in the core. The coating composition can be used as the clearcoat over a conventional pigmented basecoat, or as a basecoat or monocoat or primer when a suitable amount of pigment is incorporated therein. The coating composition provides improved chemical resistance and is not prone to cracking.

  • Patent number: 5160785
Abstract: A resilient padding body which comprises an intermediate base layer and upper protruberances extending upwardly off the surface of the base layer and bottom protruberances extending downwardly off a lower surface of the base layer. The padding body includes longitudinal and lateral upper recesses which are formed between the upper protruberances. The upper protruberances have side walls which slope inwardly to form an object which is in the shape of a trancated pyramid and angled recesses. The base of the upper protruberances is essentially coplanar with the base member's upper surface. The base of each upper protruberance is separated by a slit which extends into the base member for about one half of the base member's thickness. The bottom protruberances include foundation sections which have vertical side walls. The foundation sections are spaced sufficiently to form a narrow channel between adjacent foundation section walls.
