The device includes a first chamber including a fluidized bed in which a funnel-shaped fluidizer element is housed to receive support grains of spherical or similar shape; a second chamber in fluid flow connection with the first chamber to deliver precursors in a vapor phase of chemical species to be deposited on the support grains and to convey a fluidizing gas towards the first chamber; and a flute at an inlet to the fluidizer element to control distribution of the vapor phase precursors and the fluidizing gas within the fluidizer element. The distributor flute includes one or more outer grooves, each groove including a first portion oriented along the longitudinal axis of the flute and a second portion winding helically around the axis to generate a fluidizing gas vortex within the first chamber.

Abstract: An electrode for an alkali fuel cell comprises an active layer formed by a bilayer or by a stack of a plurality of bilayers. Each bilayer is composed of a catalytic layer comprising catalyst particles of nanometric size and of a porous layer comprising two opposite faces one of which is in contact with the catalytic layer. The porous layer is made from a porous composite material comprising a hydroxide ion conducting polymer matrix in which a metallic lattice is formed constituting a plurality of electronically conducting paths connecting the two opposite faces of the porous layer. Advantageously, fabrication of such an electrode is obtained by successively performing vacuum deposition of the catalyst particles and vacuum co-deposition of the hydroxide ion conducting polymer and of the metal on a free surface of a support.

Abstract: Methods for providing feedback in messaging systems are described. A communication node can include a first counter for counting a first number of messages which received by and/or forwarded by the node. The communication node can also include a second counter which counts a second number of messages which are expected to be delivered from that node to other nodes.
Abstract: A channel quality indicator value is determined on a per transport block basis. A signal-to-interference ratio estimate of a control channel and a channel quality estimate of user-data channel are employed in the determination of the channel quality indicator. The channel quality estimate of the user-data channel can include information about Automatic Retransmission Request (ARQ) processing, and the number of iterations of a Turbo decoder. Additionally, information about the Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC), which is determined on a per transport block basis, can be employed in the channel quality indicator determination. The determined channel quality indicator is reported to the radio communication system.
Abstract: The resonant device comprises an electromechanical resonator of nanometric or micrometric size that comprises a mobile element and a fixed element. Detection means provide detection signals representative of movement of the mobile element with respect to the fixed element to a feedback loop that is connected to an excitation input of the resonator. The resonator is formed on the same substrate as the detection means and feedback loop. The feedback loop comprises at most first and second transistors connected in series between a reference voltage and the excitation terminal. A capacitive load is connected between the excitation terminal and reference voltage. The detection signals control the conductivity of the first transistor.

Abstract: A travel bowl assembly for traveling in a vehicle including a bowl member divided into a snack section and a cup holder section. A cup holder, cup holder insert extends downward from a bottom of the bowl member. The cup holder insert can be integrated or removably attached to the bowl. A pliant adapter can be integrated or removably attached to the cup holder insert. The pliant adapter utilizes flexible winglets for compensating between dimensional differences between the cup holder insert and a receiving cup holder. The pliant adapter is formed having a tapered sleeve for sliding the adapter onto a tapered sidewall of the cup holder insert. A lid can be provided, sealing the snack section of the bowl.
Abstract: Communication devices that include one or more software components can determine whether a software component is missing, notify a computer server of a software component determined as missing, and request a download of the missing software component to the device.
Abstract: An electronic circuit power supply device configured to selectively apply at least one first voltage or one second voltage to a power supply terminal of the electronic circuit that includes elements for applying to the power supply terminal a voltage variable from a value equal to the first voltage to a value equal to the second voltage and elements designed for selecting application of the second voltage to the power supply terminal when the variable voltage reaches the second voltage.
Abstract: Method and system are disclosed for bi-directional probing of software. The bi-directional probe is capable of transferring data to and from a software under test. This two-way transfer of data allows the variables and arguments in the software to not only be monitored, but also changed as needed. Test vectors may be developed and inserted into the software while running for testing purposes. Regression analysis may be made easier by using data from previous iterations as input for the next iterations.
Abstract: The invention relates to charging of a short message transmission in a telecommunications network. The invention provides a mechanism for refunding the subscriber for an already charged short message in the event of a failure during the delivery of that short message. The invention also relates to the methods and devices that are used to deliver a short message and perform the charging thereof.
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for the treatment of gaseous effluents, such as those originating from the production of semi-conductors involving contact with a liquid. The inventive apparatus consists of: a gas/liquid contact chamber which can receive a liquid in the lower part thereof and which is topped with a gas cover, said chamber comprising means for introducing a gas to be treated and means for releasing residual gases following treatment involving contact with the liquid; turbine-type gas/liquid contacting means comprising one or more stages which ensure improved contact between the gas and the liquid, the upper part of said means being equipped with an opening for drawing the gas situated in the gas cover above the liquid; and, preferably, means for measuring the pH of the liquid.

Abstract: To enable analysis of a signal associated with surveying a subterranean structure, a processing system receives a time series of the signal associated with surveying the subterranean structure. A visualization of the time series is generated, where the visualization is a time-based representation of a characteristic of the signal. The visualization enables a determination of whether undesirable variations occur with the signal over time.
Abstract: The invention provides a method for assisting handover of a user terminal's, UT's, communication session in an integrated multi RAT network, said method to be carried out by an RNCI being installed in said network, said method comprising the following steps:— receiving a “Handover Candidate” message comprising a message type identifier information element identifying said message as being a “Handover Candidate” message and which message identifies said session and which message further identifies a candidate RNC of said network, wherein said candidate RNC constitutes an RNC handover candidate for said session,— establishing the identity of said RNC by investigating said message,— associating said communication session with said candidate RNC identified in the previous step. The invention provides an RNC1, RNC2, and software, realising the method according to the invention.
Abstract: An output circuit for a microwave tube is provided that has generally high interaction impedance for good efficiency, has high average power capability, and is physically large for a given operating frequency. The output circuit is designed to operate in conjunction with an off-axis, bunched electron beam. Electromagnetic fields are applied to the region in which the electron beam propagates to impart an azimuthal velocity to the bunched electron beam. The electron bunches then interact synchronously with a resonant output structure to excite radio-frequency modes from which energy can be extracted and applied to a load.

Abstract: A target layer comprising at least one degradable material is deposited on a support. Nanotubes are then formed on the degradable material of the target layer before deposition of an insulating layer is performed. Degradation of the degradable material and elimination of degradation sub-products are then performed by means of the nanotubes passing through the insulating layer thus forming air gaps in the target layer.

One or more radio base stations are arranged in the installation shaft in the vicinity of one or more associated antennas at the top of the tower body. The installation shaft is formed to allow personnel access to the radio base station. There is also provided an elevator arrangement for an antenna tower structure.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for reducing the number of CC messages transmitted in a provider network. In one embodiment of the invention, a first service provider network element receives CC messages from a first customer network at a first periodicity rate. The first service provider network element stores the received CC messages and reduces the first periodicity rate to create a second periodicity rate that is smaller than the first periodicity rate. The first service provider network element transmits CC messages to a second service provider network element through the provider network at the second periodicity rate. Other methods and apparatus are also described.
