Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method and system for providing, transparent mixed mode, object and block data storage transport. The system implements I/O modules capable of translating between communication protocols for providing common message passing multi-channel data transport for data storage while providing apparent I/O circuit exclusivity to controllers. The system is capable of converting object based transports for block storage, thus permitting both block and object based access to the storage complex. Implementing the system of the present invention allows for a common data transport system permitting component scalability and virtualization while allowing for target and initiator mode utilization of I/O interface circuits.
Abstract: A method and system is provided for automatically recognizing geometric points of features in a target design for OPC mask quality calculation. For each feature in the target design, x, y points comprising the feature are traversed and each neighboring pair of points is connected to define respective segments, wherein a set of contiguous segments form a step if the x values of the segments/points all increase or decrease and the same is true for the y values. Physical characteristics of the segments of the respective features are determined by comparing lengths of the segments to one another and to threshold values. Locations of quality measuring points are then determined along particular ones of the segments based on the physical characteristics.

Abstract: A Pseudo Low Volume Reticle (PLVR) which consists of multiple design layers on a single reticle. Specifically, the reticle can include two instances of each layer in order to facilitate die-to-die inspection techniques. A scribe is wrapped around each instance of the layer, such that both the frame and active area of the chip can be inspected with the die-to-die method. The chip consists of design data for a given part. The scribe, or frame, is preferably standard data across products which is used for yield and in line testing during the chip manufacturing process. Since only one chip and scribe unit is necessary to manufacture a device at each layer, it is only necessary that one chip and scribe instance yield during the reticle manufacturing process.
Abstract: A process is provided, which includes receiving geometrical information for a plurality of layers of an electronic structure within at least one output data file from an electronic structure design tool. At least one numerical analysis data file is created from the output data file, which contains the geometrical information and has a file structure compatible with a numerical analysis tool for characterizing the electronic structure. The numerical analysis tool is used to read the numerical analysis data file and generate a three-dimensional meshed geometric model of the electronic structure from the numerical analysis data file, wherein the model includes three-dimensional geometric models of each layer. The model can then be used, for example, to solve numerical thermal, mechanical or electrical equations that are applied to the model.
Abstract: In one embodiment of the invention, decompressed video signals are upscaled and then filtered using a combined mosquito noise reduction (MNR) and aliasing coring filter that reduces both mosquito noise in the decompressed video signals as well as aliasing noise resulting from the upscaling process. In one implementation, the combined coring filter includes a dual-band filter having two passbands interleaved with two stopbands. The strength of the coring filter may be dynamically controlled based on compression information (e.g., quantizer scales indicative of video quality) associated with the compressed video bitstream from which the decompressed video is recovered.
Abstract: A method of receiving a plurality of instructions. The method generally comprises the steps of (A) storing a first of the instructions in response to receiving the first instruction at an initial time, and (B) rejecting a second of the instructions that depends from the first instruction in response to receiving the second instruction greater than a maximum delay after the initial time.
Abstract: An instrument for precisely cutting tissue to controlled dimensions (length, width, depth, and shape) is provided for the removal of tissue specimens from remote sites in the body of a patient, such as from the gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, or vascular structures, or any tissue surface or soft tissue of the body. The instrument has a housing and a substantially flexible shaft extending from the housing to a distal end. The distal end of the instrument has an open cavity into which tissue is receivable. Suction can be communicated along the shaft to the distal end for distribution across the cavity utilizing a manifold having a grated tissue engaging surface with opening(s) for applying the suction, thereby pulling tissue adjacent to the distal end into the cavity against the tissue engaging surface of the manifold. One or more hollow needles are extendable from the housing through the shaft into the cavity to enable infusion of fluid, such as saline or a hemostatic agent, into the tissue.
Abstract: A bipolar transistor which has a base formed of a combination of shallow and deep acceptors species. Specifically, elements such as Indium, Tellurium, and Gallium are deep acceptors in silicon, and are appropriate for such an application, in combination with boron as the shallow acceptor. The use of a deep acceptor for doping the base of the transistor has the benefit of providing a doping species, which increases in ionization as the temperature rises. At elevated temperatures, the fraction of, for example, indium which is ionized increases and it results in an increased Gummel number, driving down the current gain. In other words, the enhancement of the Gummel number between room temperature and an elevated temperature compensates for the increase in the ratio of collector and base currents due to band gap narrowing effects. Thus, a zero temperature coefficient bipolar transistor is provided.

Abstract: A method and computer program for static timing analysis includes receiving as input minimum and maximum stage delays for two corners of an integrated circuit design. A path slack for a setup timing check is calculated from the minimum and maximum stage delays as a function of net clock cycle interval T_clk, launch path delay T_LP, capture path delay T_CP, data path delay T_DP, and a first delay de-rating factor Y1. A path slack for a hold timing check is calculated from the minimum and maximum stage delays as a function of the launch path delay T_LP, the capture path delay T_CP, the data path delay T_DP, and a second delay de-rating factor Y2. The path slack calculated for the setup timing check and for the hold timing check is generated as output.

Abstract: Disclosed is a netlist query language that reads and updates electrical circuit data stored in a netlist database that stores electrical circuit data parsed from a netlist text file. To obtain the netlist text file, an electrical circuit schematic of an electrical circuit is created using a commercially available electrical schematic capture software tool. The electrical schematic capture software tool is then directed to create the netlist text file that is representative of the electrical circuit. The netlist text file is then parsed, and the parsed netlist data that is representative of the electrical circuit is stored in the netlist database. The netlist database provides netlist database access subroutines that allow a software program to read and update data stored in the netlist database. Sophisticated programming skills are required to read and update the netlist database using the netlist database access subroutines.
