Abstract: Described herein are one or more embodiments of closures with a child-resistant safety structure. A cap couples to a container neck, such as via threads. An overcap extends around the cap. A biasing element in the overcap biases the sidewalls of the overcap above the cap so that rotating the overcap does not transfer sufficient torque to the cap to also rotate the cap. When the overcap is pressed towards the container body, the sidewalls of the overcap interface with the cap, thereby providing a sufficient interface with sufficient friction to permit rotation of the overcap to translate into rotation of the cap.
Abstract: Computed tomography (CT) image reconstruction from polychromatic projection data. In an embodiment, polychromatic projection data is acquired using a CT system. An optimal correction value for linearization of the polychromatic projection data is determined, and the polychromatic projection data is linearized according to the determined optimal correction value. The image is then reconstructed from the linearized projection data.
Abstract: A method, a system, and computer program product for rendering a visual representation of a target object using a selection of a first position on the surface of the target object. A reference surface is determined based on selected positions on the surface of the target object. A graphical object overlaying the visual representation of the target object is rendered. A location of the graphical object in the graphical user interface is based on the reference surface. The graphical object has a perimeter including the perimeter positions. A perimeter position of the perimeter positions is mapped to a second point on a three-dimensional representation of the target object. A distance between a first point and a second point on the three-dimensional representation of the target object is less than or equal to a second distance. The first point on the three-dimensional representation is associated with the first position.

The device is further provided with a heating element above the top plate and below the fragrance container to provide heat to the fragrance container, and a switch coupled to the lid of the fragrance container and operable to sense that the fragrance container is covered by the lid and to deactivate the heating element when the fragrance container is covered by the lid.
Abstract: A method and system for implementing domain name services (DNS) is described. In one aspect a query from a user device for access to a particular resource record may be received and forwarded to an authoritative DNS device. A reply to the query may be received from the authoritative DNS device. Information of the reply also may be distributed to other DNS devices.
Abstract: A truck bed storage system provides multiple different use configurations, including a cap, a rack, and a bed cover. Elements of the system are reconfigurable to assemble the different use configurations. The system is easily assembled, reconfigured, or disassembled. The system includes a modular frame which connects to the truck bed and is used in the rack and cap configurations. A bed cover is removably attached to the top of the frame in the cap configuration, and connects to the top of the bed in the bed cover configuration. Removable panels attach to the frame in the cap configuration.
Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a method of deploying first and second tenant deployable elements to a set of one or more public clouds, the first and second tenant deployable elements being different types of elements. The method identifies first and second sets of performance metrics respectively for first and second sets of candidate resource elements to use to deploy the first and second tenant deployable elements, the two sets of performance metrics being different sets of metrics because the first and second tenant deployable elements being different types of elements, the first set of performance metrics having at least one metric that is not included in the second set of performance metrics.
Abstract: A patient-positioning system, computer-control and data-integration system, and surgical componentry are provided. The patient-positioning system can be used to manipulate the patient prior to, during, and after surgery to globally or regionally articulate the patient's body to facilitate stabilization of the patient's spine. And the computer-control and data-integration system can be used to facilitate operation of the patient-positioning system and enabling technologies use to perform surgery. Furthermore, the surgical componentry can be used to locally articulate the patient's body and/or the stabilize patient's spine. Surgical methods of using the patient-positioning system, the computer-control and data-integration system, and the surgical componentry for improving patient health outcomes are also provided.

Abstract: A drain is positioned in an aperture in a floor surface. The drain includes a flange that defines an opening, extends overt the floor surface and engages the floor surface. A first conduit is connected to the flange and extends through the aperture in the floor surface. The first conduit defines a first length extending downward from the flange and also defines a first perimeter. A second conduit is connected to the flange and extends through the aperture in the floor surface. The second conduit defines a second length extending downward from the flange, and defines a second perimeter. The second perimeter is greater than the first perimeter, the second conduit surrounds the first conduit, the second conduit is outwardly spaced from the first conduit, and the first conduit and the second conduit are coaxial.

Abstract: A shaving razor system having a handle having a first end with a top surface defining recessed surface between a pair of guide surfaces. A shaving razor cartridge is removably mounted to the first end of the handle. The shaving razor cartridge includes a housing and a blade carrier assembly. The blade carrier assembly has a blade carrier with a blade platform at a first end, a tab extending from the blade platform to a second end. The tab has a crest positioned within the recessed surface of the handle. A blade is mounted to the blade platform. The blade has a cutting edge. The tab is positioned between a pair of guide members on the housing that engage the corresponding guide surfaces of the handle.
Abstract: Processes and systems that enhance the heating of packaged foodstuffs and other items in various microwave heating systems are described herein. It has been unexpectedly found that configuring the microwave heating zone of a microwave-assisted pasteurization or sterilization system so that the article carrier, the microwave launchers, and/or the packages have certain relative dimensions may significantly enhance the uniformity of heating of the articles. The result is pasteurized or sterilized articles that exhibit fewer hot and cold spots, a consistent microbial lethality rate, and desirable end properties, such as visual appearance, taste, and texture.

Abstract: In various embodiments a player of a gaming device or mobile gaming device is presented with an indication of a payout amount less any taxes that would be owed for the payout.
Abstract: In one embodiment, the invention provides a portable wireless personal communication system for cooperating with a remote certification authority to employ time variable secure key information pursuant to a predetermined encryption algorithm to facilitate convenient, secure encrypted communication. The disclosed system includes a wireless handset, such as PDA, smartphone, cellular telephone or the like, characterized by a relatively robust data processing capability and a body mounted key generating component which is adapted to be mounted on an individual's body, in a permanent or semi-permanent manner, for wirelessly broadcasting, within the immediate proximity of the individual, a secret or private key identifying signal corresponding to a time variable secure key information under the control of the certification authority.
Abstract: A rotary disc valve is used in a fluid delivery system to control flow of fluid between multiple ports. The valve may include a valve body having multiple ports that are connected to the system. In addition, the valve may include a diverter and seal assembly that are disposed in the valve body. The diverter is configured to rotate about a rotational axis and to control fluid flow through the valve body. The valve is free of an axial compression spring, and the valve body, the lid and the diverter are shaped and dimensioned so that an interference fit exists between the lid and the diverter that results in compression of the seal assembly between the diverter and the base.
