  • Publication number: 20130215955
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer program for detecting sequences of digitally modulated symbols transmitted by multiple sources are provided. A real-domain representation that separately treats in-phase and quadrature components of a received vector, channel gains, and a transmitted vector transmitted by the multiple sources is determined. The real-domain representation is processed to obtain a triangular matrix. In addition, at least one of the following is performed: (i) hard decision detection of a transmitted sequence and demapping of corresponding bits based on a reduced complexity search of a number of transmit sequences, and (ii) generation of bit soft-output values based on the reduced complexity search of the number of transmit sequences. The reduced complexity search is based on the triangular matrix.

  • Patent number: 8514774
Abstract: A method, and components for performing such method, is provided for synchronizing multiple user signals in a multi-user communication system. An interference matrix is generated based on time delay and frequency offset information for the active users accessing an OFDMA uplink receiver. User signals are received from the active users and are segmented into blocks, and the interference matrix is applied to each of the blocks. The received user signal is OFDM demodulated and un-used sub-carriers are discarded. Typically, the method includes also applying a factorization matrix formed by factoring a correction matrix created from the interference matrix and an inverse matrix formed based on the factoring results to the user signal blocks, e.g., the correction step includes multiplying each of the blocks from the user signal by each of these three matrices. The corrected user blocks are then concatenated to form a corrected vector signal.

  • Patent number: 8514328
Abstract: One or more digital video frames are interpolated using motion compensated temporal interpolation (MCTI). The quality of motion vectors corresponding to object motion between the two adjacent second video frames is detected. An average of forward motion vectors and an average of backward motion vectors representing motion of the object are compared by calculating the absolute value difference of the averaged forward and backward motion vectors to detect the quality of the motion vectors and a control signal is generated corresponding to the detected quality. Customized Image segmentation based on a first mode of image processing, a second mode of image processing or a combination of the first and second modes of image processing is then performed based on the detected accuracy to generate the interpolated frame.

  • Publication number: 20130207720
Abstract: An operational amplifier may include a differential stage comprising two transistors whose gates are respectively linked to the two inputs of the operational amplifier. The sources of the two transistors may be linked to a first current source whose delivered current depends negatively on temperature variations and to a second current source whose delivered current is proportional to absolute temperature. The sum of these two currents may be less dependent on temperature, in that this link of the sources of the two transistors with the two current sources is effected respectively by way of two resistors, and in that the current which passes through the two transistors is imposed of proportional with temperature type, so as to allow substantially temperature-independent elimination of the offset voltage of the operational amplifier while obtaining a temperature-independent constant gain-bandwidth product.
