Patent number: 7109537Abstract: A pixel circuit with a dual gate PMOS is formed by forming two P+ regions in an N? well. The N? well is in a P? type substrate. The two P+ regions form the source and drain of a PMOS transistor. The PMOS transistors formed within the N? well will not affect the collection of the photo-generated charge as long as the source and drain potentials of the PMOS transistors are set at a lower potential than the N? well potential so that they remain reverse biased with respect to the N? well. One of the P+ regions used to form the source and drain regions can be used to reset the pixel after it has been read in preparation for the next cycle of accumulating photo-generated charge. The N? well forms a second gate for the dual gate PMOS transistor since the potential of the N? well 12 affects the conductivity of the channel of the PMOS transistor. The addition of two NMOS transistors enables the readout signal to be stored at the gate of one of the NMOS transistors thereby making a snapshot imager possible.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2005Date of Patent: September 19, 2006Assignee: Dialog Imaging Systems GmbHInventors: Taner Dosluoglu, Nathaniel Joseph McCaffrey

Patent number: 7102076Abstract: A water sensing wire for a cable. The water sensing wire has a conductor and a water permeable insulation surrounding the conductor. The conductor is formed by a plurality of metal wires. The water sensing wire may also have a plurality of filaments contained inside the water permeable insulation. Longitudinal and/or radial application of stresses cannot cause damage to the water sensing wire because damage can be avoided by the deformable cross section of the sensor conductor and by the reinforcement provided through the filaments. The water sensing wire is particularly useful in power cables but may also be used in telecommunication cables or optical fibers.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 2003Date of Patent: September 5, 2006Assignee: Pirelli Kabel und Systeme GmbH & Co. Patent number: 7100503Abstract: In a method and system to generate a print image on a carrier material, the surface of a print substrate is covered with at least one of an ink-repelling and an ink-attracting layer. In a structuring process, ink-attracting regions and ink-repelling regions are generated corresponding to a structure of the print image to be printed. An ink-attracting carrier substance is applied which can be an ink or other carrier substance on the print substrate surface that adheres to the ink-attracting regions and is not accepted by the ink-repelling regions. The carrier substance is fixed and subsequently the fixed carrier substance is inked with ink at least once. The applied ink is transferred to the carrier material. Before a new structuring process, the print substrate surface is cleaned and newly covered.Type: GrantFiled: July 3, 2002Date of Patent: September 5, 2006Assignee: Oce Printing Systems GmbHInventors: Manfred Wiedemer, Robert Link

Patent number: 7102794Abstract: In a method and apparatus for engraving printing cylinders in an electronic engraving machine, an engraving control signal is formed from an image signal, which represents the tonal values of the cups to be engraved, and from a raster signal for generating a printing raster. An engraving stylus of an engraving element controlled by the engraving control signal engraves a printing form engraving line by engraving line in the form of cups arranged in the printing raster in a rotating printing cylinder. Functionability of the engraving stylus is continuously checked during engraving of the printing cylinder by a digital filtering of the engraving control signal in an engraving stylus monitoring device. When damage is found, a control signal is generated that aborts the engraving, or acoustically or optically signals the identified damage to the engraving stylus.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 2000Date of Patent: September 5, 2006Assignee: Hell Gravure Systems GmbHInventor: Bernd Lübcke

Patent number: 7102795Abstract: In a method and apparatus for engraving printing cylinders in an electronic engraving machine, an engraving control signal is formed from an image signal that represents tonal values of cups to be engraved and from a periodic raster signal for generating a printing raster. An engraving stylus of an engraving element controlled by the engraving control signal engraves a printing form in the form of cups arranged in the printing raster in a rotating printing cylinder. For checking of the functionability of the engraving stylus, test cups are engraved simultaneously when engraving the printing form. A respective measurement interval is defined for selected test cups. The raster signal is respectively eliminated from the engraving control signal for the duration of the measurement interval, and the remaining engraving control signal is investigated for harmonics characteristic of damage to the engraving stylus.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 2000Date of Patent: September 5, 2006Assignee: Hell Gravure Systems GmbHInventor: Bernd Lübcke
