  • Patent number: 11253760
Abstract: Attachment of an interchangeable grip sleeve particularly suited for golf requires three basic securing movements. In the first movement, the grip is situated and secured into place on the shaft by fastening toe components at the lower, distal portion of the grip onto the shaft using an insertion tool. In the second movement, heel components of the grip are positioned onto the shaft, by either rotational torque or downward pressure, optionally using a tightening tool, which results in securing the upper, proximal portion of the grip onto the shaft. In the third movement, once both heel and toe embodiments of the grip have been fastened to the shaft, the internal core diameter of the grip is decreased in order to secure the grip to the shaft, such as by rotating or twisting the entire grip body, wherein an internal mechanism maintains the grip body in the torqued or twisted position, thereby preventing the grip body from rotating back.

  • Patent number: 11256261
Abstract: A system determines one or more constraint locations that are present in an environment. A constraint location is a location in the environment through which a user, pet, or moving device is deemed likely to pass due to one or more physical constraints such as walls, furniture, and so forth. For example, a constraint location may be located at a midpoint of a doorway, or where a corridor narrows. Movement of an autonomous mobile device in an environment takes these constraint locations into consideration. In one implementation the autonomous mobile device is prevented from stopping within a threshold distance of a constraint location to avoid blocking movement of others.

  • Patent number: 11256707
Abstract: Devices and techniques are generally described for per-query prediction of shard relevance for search. In some examples, a search system may receive a first search query. A first score may be determined for a first database partition, the first score indicating a relevancy of the first search query to first data stored by the first database partition. Similarly, a second score may be determined for a second database partition, the second score indicating a relevancy of the first search query to second data stored by the second database partition. A determination may be made that the first search query is related to the first data stored by the first database partition. A determination may be made, based at least in part on the second score, that the first search query is unrelated to the second data stored by the second database partition.

  • Patent number: 11256004
Abstract: Direct-bonded lamination for improved image clarity in optical devices is provided. An example process planarizes and plasma-activates optical surfaces to be laminated together, then forms direct bonds between the two surfaces without an adhesive or adhesive layer. This process provides improved optics with higher image brightness, less light scattering, better resolution, and higher image fidelity. The direct bonds also provide a refractory interface tolerant of much higher temperatures than conventional optical adhesives. The example process can be used to produce many types of improved optical components, such as improved laminated lenses, mirrors, beam splitters, collimators, prism systems, optical conduits, and mirrored waveguides for smartglasses and head-up displays (HUDs), which provide better image quality and elimination of the dark visual lines that are apparent to a human viewer when conventional adhesives are used in conventional lamination.

  • Patent number: 11255465
Abstract: A microfluidic check valve includes an inlet bore, an internal chamber, an outlet bore, and a disk freely movable in the chamber between an open position and a closed position. At the open position, the disk permits fluid to flow from the inlet bore, through the chamber, and to the outlet bore. At the closed position, the disk prevents fluid from flowing in the reverse direction from the chamber into the inlet bore. The check valve may be positioned in-line with a fluid conduit, and/or incorporated with various fluidic devices such as, for example, capillary tubes, fittings, and chromatography columns. The check valve is capable of withstanding high fluid pressures, while featuring a small swept volume, such as a nano-scale volume. The check valve may be utilized, for example, to prevent fluid back flow and isolate pressure pulses in fluid flow systems.
