  • Patent number: 10227440
Abstract: In one or more embodiments, the present invention provides a novel approach to the addition of plasticizers for softening TPUs, i.e., lowering the durometer and the melt viscosity. This approach involves incorporating bonded sulfonate groups with quaternary ammonium counterions into the TPU. In one or more embodiments of the present invention, the softening of TPU is achieved by incorporating an ionic diol, such as N,N-bis (2-hydoxyethyl)-2-aminoethane-sulfonic acid (BES), coupled with various bulky alkyl ammonium cations, during the chain extension step of the TPU synthesis. It is believed that that steric hindrance of the bulky quaternary ammonium groups weakens the dipole-dipole interactions of the sulfonate groups and/or lowers the crystallinity of the hard block, thereby creating additional free volume that softens the polymer and lowers the melt viscosity.

  • Patent number: 10230984
Abstract: The present invention is related to a method for moving the position of a base view from an arbitrary GOP (Group Of Pictures) start position to implement an efficient encoding structure in multi-view video encoding. The existing multi-view video encoding method exhibits low encoding efficiency when correlation between the base view and a dependent view is low, since the base view is assumed to be fixed. Moreover, in case the view in a live broadcasting program desired by a producer changes from the base view to another, the user has to consume more bit streams and decoder complexity than those consumed when decoding is performed with respect to the base view. Therefore, to alleviate the drawbacks of the existing multi-view video encoding method, the present invention provides a method for designing syntax elements by which the base view can be moved, thereby supporting an efficient encoding structure.

  • Patent number: 10229092
Abstract: Systems and methods which provide robust low-rank matrix approximation using low-rank matrix factorization in the lp-norm space, where p<2 (e.g., 1?p<2), providing a lp-PCA technique are described. For example, embodiments are configured to provide robust low-rank matrix approximation using low-rank matrix factorization in the least absolute deviation (l1-norm) space providing a l1-PCA technique. Embodiments minimize the lp-norm of the residual matrix in the subspace factorization of an observed data matrix, such as to minimize the l1-norm of the residual matrix where p=1. The alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) is applied according to embodiments to solve the subspace decomposition of the low-rank matrix factorization with respect to the observed data matrix. Iterations of the ADMM may comprise solving a l2-subspace decomposition and calculating the proximity operator of the l1-norm.

  • Patent number: 10231149
Abstract: A 3GPP LTE protocol enhancement may realize the full benefit of dual connectivity in Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks by providing a mechanism to carry Radio Resource Control (RRC) messages and/or Information Elements (IE)s from a Secondary Evolved Node B (SeNB) to User Equipment (UE) via Master Evolved Node B (MeNB) RRC messages. Novel downlink (DL) Common Control Channel (CCCH) and Dedicated Control Channel (DCCH) messages, and augmented messages having Information Elements (IE)s for relaying RRC messages from a SeNB to a UE via a MeNB, are defined. Modifications to ASN.1 program coding of LTE 3rd Generation Partnership Project specifications to enable RRC messages from the MeNB to relay RRC information from the SeNB to the UE are provided. In one embodiment, the UE receives, from a MeNB, an RRC message comprising information relayed from a SeNB and interprets the RRC message for control channel and radio resource configuration information from the SeNB.
