Patent number: 12232846Abstract: Optical imaging or spectroscopy described can use laminar optical tomography (LOT), diffuse correlation spectroscopy (DCS), or the like. An incident beam is scanned across a target. An orthogonal or oblique optical response can be obtained, such as concurrently at different distances from the incident beam. The optical response from multiple incident wavelengths can be concurrently obtained by dispersing the response wavelengths in a direction orthogonal to the response distances from the incident beam. Temporal correlation can be measured, from which flow and other parameters can be computed. An optical conduit can enable endoscopic or laparoscopic imaging or spectroscopy of internal target locations. An articulating arm can communicate the light for performing the LOT, DCS, or the like. Patent number: 12238120Abstract: An intrusion prevention system can be embedded in an industrial controller to detect possible attacks on the corresponding physical system of the industrial controller. The intrusion prevention system can analyze the payload of network packets received at the industrial controller and predict what harm the payload of the network packet could cause to the physical system if executed by the industrial controller. To predict how the payload of a network packet may affect the physical system, the intrusion prevention system can perform a simulation with the payload of the network packet. The simulation can incorporate a model of the physical system, a copy of the logic used by the industrial controller and information relating to the current state of the system. The result of the simulation can be new predicted states for the physical system that can be evaluated to determine if a safety violation has occurred.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 2021Date of Patent: February 25, 2025Assignee: Board of Trustees of the University of Alabama, for and on behalf of the University of Alabama in HuntsvilleInventors: Aaron W. Patent number: 12235945Abstract: Two-dimensional face presentation attacks are one of most notorious and pervasive face spoofing types, causing security issues to facial authentication systems. To tackle these issues, a cost-effective face anti-spoofing (FAS) system based on acoustic modality, named as Echo-FAS, is devised, which employs a crafted acoustic signal to probe the presented face. First, a large-scale, high-diversity, acoustic-based FAS database, named as Echo-Spoof, is built. Based upon Echo-Spoof, we design a two-branch framework combining global and local frequency features of the presented face to distinguish live vs. spoofing faces. Echo-FAS has the following merits: (1) it only needs one speaker and one microphone; (2) it can capture three-dimensional geometrical information of the presented face and achieve a remarkable FAS performance; and (3) it can be handily allied with RGB-based FAS models to mitigate the overfitting problem in the RGB modality and make the FAS model more accurate and robust.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 2022Date of Patent: February 25, 2025Assignee: City University of Hong KongInventors: Chenqi Kong, Kexin Zheng, Haoliang Li, Shiqi Wang
