  • Patent number: 8199247
Abstract: A method for assist in focal length detection is adapted to a digital camera having a flash. The method includes the following steps. First, the flash of the digital camera is actuated and an image having a face portion is captured. Afterwards, an exposure feature value of the face portion in the image is calculated. A focus range comparison table is looked up according to the exposure feature value to obtain an initial focus position. Then, a focus procedure is performed according to the initial focus position to obtain a target focal length. After the target focal length is obtained, a flash feature value of the image is further calculated, and a guide number (GN) and a diaphragm value are set according to the flash feature value.

  • Publication number: 20120030355
Abstract: A provisioning system is described for dynamically and automatically allocating index server resources to different respective uses. For example, the provisioning system can allocate index server resources among different search-related production uses, different analysis-related uses, different testing-related uses, and so on. In one case, the provisioning system includes an allocation manager module that receives information that has a bearing on the allocation of index server resources. Based on this information, the allocation manager module determines an allocation of index server resources and sends instructions to an indexing system to carry out the allocation. In one case, the indexing system respond to the instructions by allocating rows of index server resources to different partner entities which have requested index server resources. Each row can also implement custom index information and/or custom processing functionality for use by particular partner entities.

  • Patent number: 7952644
Abstract: An adaptive de-interlacer can convert an interlaced video signal into a progressive video signal, and comprises a motion detector, an intra-field interpolator, an inter-field interpolator, a motion aliasing artifact detector and a blending unit. The motion detector generates an alpha value for each interpolated pixel in a current field of the interlaced video signal based on successive fields of the interlaced video signal. The intra-field interpolator outputs an intra-field interpolated pixel based on the current field, and the inter-field interpolator also outputs an inter-field interpolated pixel based on the successive fields. Afterward, the motion aliasing artifact detector detects whether the interpolated pixel is located in a motion aliasing area.
