  • Patent number: 7391736
Abstract: A method is disclosed for transmitting and receiving packetized data having multiple protocol headers in a packet data communication system. An operating state of a network is determined, and a period for transmitting a full packet is decided according to a result of the determination. Full packets having uncompressed headers are transmitted during periodic transmission times according to the decided full-packet transmission period, and compressed packets are transmitted in other transmission times. If the operating state of the network is decided to be a congested state according to an average packet retransmission ratio produced in a period for measuring the operating state of the network, the full-packet transmission period is set to “1”. A value of the full-packet transmission period in an unloaded state is twice a value of the full-packet transmission period in a normal state.

  • Patent number: 7390719
Abstract: A semiconductor device having a dual gate is formed on a substrate having a dielectric layer. A first metallic conductive layer is formed on the dielectric layer to a first thickness, and annealed to have a reduced etching rate. A second metallic conductive layer is formed on the first metallic conductive layer to a second thickness that is greater than the first thickness. A portion of the second metallic conductive layer formed in a second area of the substrate is removed using an etching selectivity. A first gate structure having a first metallic gate including the first and the second metallic conductive layers is formed in a first area of the substrate. A second gate structure having a second metallic gate is formed in the second area. A gate dielectric layer is not exposed to an etching chemical due to the first metallic conductive layer, so its dielectric characteristics are not degraded.

  • Patent number: 7392012
Abstract: An apparatus and method for receiving a signal in a MIMO communication system are provided. In the signal receiving method, a first received signal received at each of the receive antennas is equalized in a predetermined first method. Each of the equalized transmit antenna signals is despread with a plurality of spreading codes used in a transmitter. The strongest transmit antenna signal is detected among the despread transmit antenna signals, and decoded in a predetermined second method, for error verification. The verified strongest transmit antenna signal is reproduced as an interference signal. A second received signal is generated by subtracting the interference signal from the first received signal and equalized in the first method. The above operation is repeated on the equalized transmit antenna signals except the strongest transmit antenna signal.
