    Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing Multicast and Broadcast Service (MBS) in a Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) system are provided. The BWA system configures one or more areas of Access Control Routers (ACRs) as one Multicast and Broadcast Service (MBS) zone. A master MBS controller (MBSC) for synchronizing the MBS zone includes a divider for dividing MBS data received from a content server into a plurality of segments according to burst allocation information, a header generator for generating headers, each of which include information on an absolute broadcast time, for the segments provided from the divider and for generating MBS sub-packets by appending the generated headers and a transmitter for transmitting the MBS sub-packets generated by the header generator to one or more slave MBSCs included in the same MBS zone.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a single mode light source device having an external cavity. The single mode light source device according to the present invention includes a laser diode, an integrated lens, and an optical fiber. The optical fiber has an incidence surface cleaved at a predetermined angle, such that a portion of light emitted from the laser diode is reflected to return to the laser diode. An internal cavity embedded in the laser diode is combined with an external cavity, thereby selecting only an optical signal of a single mode (wavelength) and outputting the selected optical signal. The external cavity is formed between a light emitting surface of the laser diode using multi mode oscillation and the incidence surface of the optical fiber. According to the present invention such constructed, the single mode light source can be embodied easily at a low price and also can be used as a variable wavelength light source.

    Abstract: A method for registering a first image to a second image using a similarity transformation. The each image includes a plurality of pixels. The first image pixels are mapped to a set of first image coordinates and the second image pixels are mapped to a set of second image coordinates. The first image coordinates of two reference points in the first image are determined. The second image coordinates of these reference points in the second image are determined. A Cartesian translation of the set of second image coordinates is performed such that the second image coordinates of the first reference point match its first image coordinates. A similarity transformation of the translated set of second image coordinates is performed. This transformation scales and rotates the second image coordinates about the first reference point such that the second image coordinates of the second reference point match its first image coordinates.
