Folding Patents (Class 108/115)
  • Patent number: 4225146
Abstract: A device for exercising an infant while walking characterized in that connection metal fittings having open outer sides are fastened to an upper portion of right and left side rods which constitute resilient lower legs formed in a V-shape, hooking holes formed on the opposing side walls of said right and left connection metal fittings in the vertical direction maintaining a distance between the upper and lower legs, said hooking holes being communicated by a path narrower than the diameter of said hooking holes. A horizontal rod of an upper leg folded in a U-shape is inserted in said right and left connection metal fittings. Hooking rods which fit into the hooking holes are attached to the right and left side portions of said horizontal rod thereby to construct a leg member, and the thus constructed leg member is fitted to a plate ring having wheels and to a table plate on which is mounted a saddle.

  • Patent number: 4157798
Abstract: A foldable support for a machine tool which is suitable for supporting tools such as a small size band saw comprises a base plate having different widths at each end. A pair of legs are pivotally mounted at each end of the base plate and are foldable thereunder. The first leg is narrower than the second leg so that they may be overlaid under the base plate to occupy a relatively small volume to facilitate transportation. A pair of extendible casters are mounted under the first leg and cooperate with a pair of foot wheels fixedly mounted under the second leg. The wheels permit easy and convenient movement of the support over short distances within the shop.

  • Patent number: 4140311
Abstract: A baby walker comprises a travelable frame, a table positioned above the frame for supporting the trunk of an infant, and a plurality of support legs interconnecting and supporting the frame and the table. Each of the support legs is divided into an upper leg portion and a lower leg portion connected together by a joint so as to be foldable into the space between the table and the frame. The joint has a bearing portion and a pair of restraining walls formed on the opposite sides of the bearing portion and bent inward as opposed to each other. One of the leg portions of the support leg has a pair of support portions and pivot portions inwardly projecting from the support portions respectively, the support portions being movable toward and away from each other and biased at all times outward away from each other. The pivot portions are turnably supported by the bearing portion of the joint.

  • Patent number: 4138951
Abstract: An open-ended tubular pedestal member has front and rear walls joined by opposite side walls. The front and rear walls have an inward recessed configuration to provide reinforcement as well as to form foot spaces. Such walls in one embodiment are held in recessed configuration by a connector strip removably attached between the front and rear walls. A top wall has depending side tabs which project into the tubular pedestal member adjacent respective side walls or if desired the top can be secured at one side to the pedestal and at the other side have the depending tab. The recessed configuration of the front and rear walls extends fully to the side walls to form acute angular portions at the juncture therebetween and the depending tab or tabs on the top wall have a fitted engagement in such acute angular portions. The pedestal member and the top wall have bend lines so as to be foldable into a compact, flat package for shipment and storage.

  • Patent number: 4136622
Abstract: A table surface member is movable between a vertical storage position against a wall and a usable positioned horizontally extending from the wall. The table member connects to the wall by means of a hinge assembly which permits folding of the table such that the upper edge of the table in the storage position is the edge adjacent the wall in the usable position. In a preferred embodiment latch means are provided for latching the edge of the table to the wall or wall mounting bracket in the usuable position, so that no supporting legs for the outer end of the table are required. Alternatively, another disclosed embodiment uses folding legs to support the outer edge of the table in the usuable position. A preferred hinge assembly includes upper and lower hinge arms pivotally connecting to the wall and the table. The pivotal axis of the lower arm or arms to the table is spaced below a plane passing through the pivot axis of the upper arm to the table and parallel with the table surface.

  • Patent number: 4112855
Abstract: A foldable furniture unit includes a foldable base framework provided by a plurality of generally U-shaped support members; each including a horizontal cross-piece joined at opposite ends to vertically disposed leg sections. Each leg section of each support member is adjacent to and substantially vertically aligned with a leg section of a different support member to provide a plurality of spaced-apart, double-leg section supports; and connectors rotatably join together the double-leg sections of each of the supports. Preferably, the foldable base framework is employed in a table having a top that is removably connected through retainers to horizontal cross-pieces of more than one U-shaped support member.
