Abstract: The invention relates to a table unit for seats in vehicles, especially airplane seats, comprising a first table element (10) which is provided with the functions of a table, and a second table element (12) which is provided with at least one other table function. Both table elements (10, 12) can be rotated in relation to each other about a first pivotal axis (14) by means of at least one hinge (18, 20) can be fixed in a predetermined position. It is possible to integrate various desired table functions in a single table unit as a result of the fact that both table elements (10,12) can be rotated about another pivotal axis (16) by means of another joint (20, 22) and can be fixed in a predetermined position. The possible table surface and position thereof can be varied in such a way certain table functions are protected and other service personnel can have access to them.

Abstract: The invention relates to a folding table, consisting of a table top (1) and a folding steel wire frame (2) with four vertical struts (3) and four cross-struts (4). It is characterized by the fact that the vertical struts (3) on one hand are arranged on the top in a pivoting manner in a table front edge profile (5) that is firmly connected with the table top (1) and on the other hand are arranged on the bottom in rollers (6) in a horizontally non-pivoting manner, wherein the vertical struts (3) each are arranged only in half of the rollers (6) and in the other half of the rollers (6) the cross-struts (4) are arranged in a horizontally pivoting manner, and wherein the cross-struts (4) at their upper ends are fixed in an anchor plate (7), which is arranged on the bottom of the table top (1). The table with a filigree appearance exhibits good stability, can be transported easily and is well protected against damage due to scratching during assembly.

Abstract: A stylish fold-up table has pivoting leg assemblies mounted to the underside of opposing ends of a table top. Pivoting skirts are mounted to the underside of opposing sides of the table top. The leg assemblies are erected and the side skirts are then folded down. Latches on the side skirts then engage latch receiving elements on the leg assemblies to secure the table in an erect position. In a preferred embodiment, this arrangement allows for a storable fold-up table in which all mounting hardware is hidden when erected.

Abstract: A collapsible structure includes first and second longitudinally extending rigid members, and a connector pivotally connecting the first and second members for movement between a compact storage orientation, wherein the first and second members extend longitudinally in a substantially parallel relationship, and an erected use orientation, wherein the first and second members extend longitudinally in a substantially non-parallel relationship. Movement between the storage and use orientations requires movement of the second member through an arc greater than 180° and less than 360° into a reflex angle relative to the first member.

Abstract: A folding table base is provided which includes a mounting plate adapted to be secured to the bottom of a table. A hinge plate is hingedly connected to the side of the mounting plate. The hinge plate is adapted to pivot between a first position and a second position. A leg is secured to the hinge plate and extends generally orthogonal thereto. A latching mechanism is secured to the bottom of the table. The latching mechanism includes a latch mounting plate and a pull latch. The pull latch being slidably mounted on the latch mounting plate such that the pull latch is operable between a latched position and an unlatched position. The latching mechanism engages the hinge plate when the pull latch is in the latched position and disengages the hinge plate when the pull latch is in the unlatched position.

Abstract: A closure mechanism for maintaining a foldable table in a closed configuration and for allowing opening thereof. In one embodiment, the closure mechanism includes a keeper mounted to a first table section, a clasp mounted to a second table section that is adapted to engage the keeper to secure the first and second table sections together in the closed configuration, and a plunger adapted to deflect the clasp to thereby disengage the clasp from the keeper to allow opening of the foldable table. In one embodiment, the clasp includes a hook that engages the keeper, and a flexible central portion that allows deflection of the hook to disengage the hook from the keeper.

Abstract: A collapsible structure includes first and second longitudinally extending rigid members, and means pivotally connecting the first and second members for movement between a compact storage orientation, wherein the first and second members extend longitudinally in a substantially parallel relationship, and an erected use orientation, wherein the first and second members extend longitudinally in a substantially non-parallel relationship. Movement between the storage and use orientations requires movement of the second member through an arc greater than 180° and less than 360° into a reflex angle relative to the first member.

The device includes a multi-function bench assembly rollably mounted on spring-loaded caster assemblies and user configurable between a cabinet/workbench configuration and a step stool configuration. Abstract: A z-axis positioner that maintains precise parallel relationship between a triangular top platform (24) and a mating bottom platform (30) juxtipositioned with each other, when separated in the z-axis. Three rectangular hinge plate sets (32) and (36) are attached with flexural strip hinges (40) in crossed pairs to opposite sides of the platforms and hinge plates such that the top and bottom platforms maintain the parallel relationship when separated without of any lateral movement. The platforms are adjusted in separable height by a variety of methods such as a micrometer, a hand screw or pneumatic, hydraulic or electromechanical actuators. A second embodiment utilizes the same principles except the platforms are square in shape and only two hinge plate sets are required on two adjacent sides of each platform.

Abstract: A sturdy collapsible wooden TV/sofa table for use with a chair, couch or sofa, comprising of a foldable tabletop and folding t-shaped leg supports. The foldable tabletop comprises of two coplanar pieces mounted together by two hinges. One of the coplanar portions is a great deal smaller than the other thus allowing for the tabletop to fold into a parallel position against its leg supports when in the collapsed form. The leg supports are also mounted pivotally to each other by two hinges. One leg is mounted perpendicular to the tabletop piece while the other is hinged lengthwise to the middle of the longer portion of the tabletop and folds parallel to it when in the collapsed position. The movable hinged leg is designed to hold the tabletop in the upright position when in use, where it is fastened to a finger latch located underneath the tabletop. The finger latch keeps the leg from moving from its t-shaped position while in the upright position.

Abstract: A seat for, for example, an aircraft that has an open outer shell which embraces a seat portion, a seat back, a head rest and a foot rest when the seat is in an upright position. Also embraced by the shell are a pair of arm rests. The seat is reclinable into a bed configuration such that the seat portion is moved forwardly out of the open end of the shell. Simultaneously, the arm rests are movable between the raised position and the position substantially flush with the seat portion. In the bed configuration, the removal of the arm rests from the raised position significantly increases the width of the bed, thus enhancing the comfort of the user.

Abstract: A portable table assembly constructed of plastic and aluminum that may have a built-in shelving system, a lightbox for displaying backlit graphics, and lockable wheels for transport of the closed table and for movement of the open table. The table has no separate parts to assemble and provides for easy mounting of graphics to the front of the assembly. The table has a hinged top, hinged doors, and may have hinged shelves. A torsion bar assist mechanism is disposed within selected ones of the upper tubular members of the leg structures, and includes a torsion bar located within an internal passage defined by the upper tubular member. The linkage includes an adjustable link member having an adjustment device. The adjustment device provides for changing the length of the link. The end of the housing receives a bolt threadably connected to the sliding block. The side walls 28, 36, 38 and 40 of the enclosure are hingedly connected 42, 43 so that the walls fold inwardly for storing or transporting the device.

The frame includes lower frame members which are rested upon the floor of the vehicle and upper frame members which support the table top. The upper and lower frame members are connected together by pivotal table leg members which enable the upper frame members, with the supported table top, to be raised or lowered relative to the lower frame members. The table top is slidably connected to the upper frame members for sliding part-way out of the vehicle. The table top, which normally is in a horizontal, lower, storage position within the vehicle can be manually raised while still horizontal and then slid part-way out of the vehicle for table use. Thus, articles may be supported upon the table in both its raised table use position and in its lowered storage position.

Abstract: A new platform apparatus for installation in the rear compartment of a vehicle. The inventive device includes a platform member. An outer periphery of the platform member defines a border extending therearound. The border defines an inner area and an outer area. The inner area is inside the border while the outer area is outside the border. A pair of first support legs are pivotally coupled to the lower surface of the platform member. A pair of second support legs are pivotally and slidably coupled to the lower surface of the platform member. Each of the second support legs is pivotally positionable along an arc extending around a second corner formed by a side and the rear of the platform member. Each of the second support legs is slidably positionable between a retracted position and an extended position, such that the second support legs are located in the inner area when in the retracted position and are located in the outer area when in the extended position.

Abstract: A conformally folding table comprises a surface assembly and a support member adapted to pivotally attach the surface assembly to a structure such as a post or mast. The surface assembly comprises a plurality of surface members and is adapted, upon being pivoted into a stowed position, to fold or "wrap," by means of relative rotations between adjacent surface members, around the structure and into close conformance with it, so as to allow storage of the table in a minimum of space. When the table is to be used, the table is pivoted away from the structure into a deployed position and the surface members are unfolded or "unwrapped" to form a flat table surface. Preferred embodiments of the table also comprise one or more legs for stability and a lateral support member to help support the surface members in forming a flat table surface.

Abstract: A folding work table for mounting to a wall structure so that the folding work table may be folded out of the way when not in use. The folding work table includes a table top with a support leg structure pivotally coupled to a lower face of the table top adjacent a first end edge of the table top. A mounting board is pivotally coupled to a second end edge of the table top. The lower face of the table top has a generally U-shaped track with an elongate channel extending therealong. At least one C-clamp is provided having a generally C-shaped frame has a pair of opposing ends defining a break therebetween. One of the ends of the frame of the C-clamp has a pivot ball slidably disposed in the channel of the track.
