The first piece includes a transverse wall that can enter the opening, and an annular wall forming a skirt, the inner face of the skirt including a larger diameter part, a smaller diameter part, and an intermediate part configured to contact with conjugated parts of the outer face by clamping. The transverse wall and the skirt form one component and are made of a highly flexible material enabling the first piece to be brought into an intermediate state in which the first piece is enlarged to be removed from the second piece, while retaining elastic deformation.

Upon mating, an exterior region of the lid sealing edge attaches to an exterior region of the base sealing edge to form a seal, and the interior region of the lid sealing edge and the interior region of the base sealing edge gradually part from the point of attachment, forming a gap between the lid rim and the base rim.

Abstract: A lid is reliably engagable with a tray while being easily releasable without disturbing tray contents and without undue lid stress. At least two lift tabs or indentations are provided at separated locations about the lid periphery, thereby providing two distinct initial disengagement locations and overcoming any tendency of the elastic lid to reactively grip the tray when disengagement is initiated. Initial disengagement at the two locations thereby enables easy removal of the entire lid. Lid release can require simultaneous and/or sequential actuation of tabs and/or indentations. Embodiments further include locations that can be pressed while corresponding tabs are lifted. Some embodiments include a peripheral skirt that is short enough to allow a user's fingers to pass beneath and support the tray sidewalls when lifting the tray-lid assembly from a horizontal surface, avoiding any need for the lid engagement to bear the weight of the tray and its contents.

The present invention is also a lid for a container that holds viscous fluids such as paint or lacquer. The lid comprises a ridge along the bottom surface of its perimeter edge and a ring adapter. The ring adapter has an outer rim with a ridge on its lower surface to be received by the circular channel of a container and an inner rim with a channel to releasably receive the ridge of the lid. The inner rim channel has three or more elongated drain apertures providing liquid flow from the circular channel.

Abstract: A process of manufacturing a pulp molded cup lid includes making a pulp slurry; distributing the pulp onto a continuous screen wherein the pulp slurry is converted into a blank; feeding the blank and the continuous screen onto a first blanking die; moving a first blanking punch onto the first blanking die to dry the blank at a temperature of 160-180° C. for 2-5 seconds; causing the first blanking punch to exert pressure of 27-40 N/cm2 on the blank for 8-20 seconds; conveying the blank onto a second blanking die which is disposed under a second blanking punch; drying the blank, the second blanking punch, and the second blanking die at a temperature of 160-180° C.; moving the second blanking punch onto the second blanking die in 2-8 seconds; and causing the second blanking punch to exert pressure of 80-120 N/cm2 on the blank for 30-45 seconds.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for the controlled preparation of a beverage from one or more beverage bags within a variety of containers and the quick and sanitary storage of the bag or bags once the beverage preparation has been completed. The apparatus may include a drinking aperture, an even retention structure profile, and a bag retention aperture that is openable such that at least a portion of the bag may be drawn within and thereby retained in a position elevated above the beverage so that the beverage can be consumed even with the apparatus in place on the container and the bag or bags retained within the apparatus. The apparatus also may include a depressed wall section sized and shaped such that, when a bag is secured by the bag retention aperture, the bag is prevented from blocking a drinking aperture even when the container is rotated for drinking.

In one of the embodiments provided herein, the closure is provided with a roof portion, a shoulder portion that merges with the roof portion, and a skirt portion depending from the shoulder portion. Provided on the shoulder portion are recessed regions and full-depth regions. The recessed regions and full-depth regions alternate around the shoulder portion and are provided for improving a number of manufacturing, costs, and structural factors.

Abstract: A tamper-evident tab construction for a thermoformed package. In one embodiment, the package includes top and bottom parts with overlapping tabs. The top and bottom parts may include locking tabs that interlock with one another and provide a structure for holding the package while it is being opened. The top part may also include a pull tab located proximate the locking tabs. The pull tab is configured to provide a structure for pulling the top part away from the bottom part to open the package. The pull tab may be joined to the top part by a small land of material that is configured to deform when the package is opened. As a result, the pull tab may remain at an angle after opening to provide a visual indication that the package may have been opened or tampered with.

The collapsible cover is available in different diameters to allow covering beer or soda cans, bottles, mixed drink glasses or wine glasses.
