  • Patent number: 8893923
Abstract: Provided are methods and systems for dispensing different chemicals used for high productivity combinatorial processing. A dispense panel may include multiple inlet lines for supplying different chemicals. Each inlet line is connected to its own three-way valve that either allows the supplied chemical to flow from the inlet line towards a dispense valve connected to a dispense manifold (during dispensing of the supplied chemical) or allows another chemical to flow from the dispense valve to a waste manifold (during priming of the dispense manifold with this other chemical). Specifically, during priming a chemical supplied from its inlet line and is passed through a corresponding three-way valve and is directed to its dispense valve and then into the dispense manifold. Other dispense valves and three-way valves of the dispense panel allow this chemical to flow out of the dispense manifold, thereby priming remaining parts of the panel.

  • Patent number: 8883075
Abstract: An attractive and compact device and an effective method to store and disinfect a manual shaving razor are disclosed. The method reduces corrosion of the razor's metal blades. A compact container has separate but suitably connected chambers allowing for economy of use of as disinfectant liquid combining alcohol, detergent or soap and skin conditioner. By protecting the razor in one enclosed chamber, oxidative damage and rusting of blades is avoided. A knife edge element is placed at the bottom of another chamber to pierce the foil seal of a suitably inserted bottle within the other chamber. An optional third, drainage chamber below the other two chambers allows for appropriate drainage and removal both of excess fluid used, as well as hair and debris from the blades. The design of the device is compact and attractive, as is the method an extremely effective way of protecting and disinfecting the razor.

  • Publication number: 20140326750
Abstract: A beverage dispensing system comprises a container, an attachment mechanism, and a cartridge. The container may hold a mixing solution or liquid, such as water, to be mixed with the contents of the cartridge. The attachment mechanism is generally located within the container. The attachment mechanism may comprise an engagement assembly, a piercing portion, and a valve assembly. The engagement assembly may generally receive the cartridge within the attachment mechanism. The piercing portion may generally pierce the cartridge, thereby releasing the contents of the cartridge into the container. The valve assembly may generally open upon engagement of the cartridge with the attachment mechanism. The cartridge generally engages with the attachment mechanism to open the cartridge to be dispensed into the container, thereby combining the contents of the cartridge with the liquid within the container to create a drinkable beverage.

  • Patent number: 8857665
Abstract: An internal chamber incorporated with the cap of a container, for example, a disposable beverage bottle. The internal chamber has an internal bore designed to hold a powder or liquid that can be released into the container. The chamber is inserted into a bottle or similar container when the cap is placed over the opening. A push-button on the top of the cap advances an actuator within the internal bore to push a diaphragm out of the distal end outlet port in the chamber to release the ingredient(s) within the internal chamber into the container. The diaphragm also has two or more peripheral guide rails to ensure that it remains aligned with the chamber housing during those movements. Alternative embodiments utilize a dome cover over the push-button. • Patent number: 8708196
Abstract: A fluid delivery device includes a compressible sleeve configured to hold a fluid-holding container such as an ampoule or capsule. The sleeve is compressible so as to be able to shatter the container under user-applied force to release the contents of the container for application to a desired location. The sleeve is constructed from at least two independent and separate walls. The independence of the walls improves the resistance of the sleeve to accidental puncturing by the frangible container while not significantly impacting the force required to shatter the container.

  • Patent number: 8701936
Abstract: Dispensing systems facilitates formation and dispensation of a use solution from a solid concentrate. The dispensing system may include a cartridge attached to a spray bottle or other dispensing apparatus. The cartridge defines a reservoir configured to store a solid product concentrate. A diluent, such as water, is placed in a fluid reservoir of the dispensing apparatus. Activation of a dispensing mechanism, such as a trigger, creates a vacuum in the cartridge reservoir, opening a valve and drawing diluent from the fluid reservoir into the cartridge reservoir and onto the solid product. The flow of diluent onto the solid product causes a portion of the solid product to be dissolved, eroded, and/or otherwise mixed with the diluent to form a use solution. Actuation of the dispense mechanism may further draw the use solution from the cartridge reservoir and dispense the use solution through the nozzle.
