  • Patent number: 11846065
Abstract: A new method of delivering more precise amounts of carpet mill dye to regions of discoloration using a roller-ball applicator enables precisely metered delivery of the three primary dye colors to discolored carpet fibers. The method eliminates the need for a water extraction, enables the restoration of a more uniform color pattern, and eliminates dye overspray outside of the treated region that is inherent with the use of a spray bottle. The applicator is held with a loose grip and the roller ball is alternately moved in clockwise and counter-clockwise directions while in contact with the carpet fibers to be dyed. This ensures that dye is delivered to all sides of the fiber. To ensure even dye penetration and improved motion of the roller ball, an emulsifier is added to the dye solution. After each application, a microfilament cloth is wiped across the treated region.

  • Publication number: 20120171492
Abstract: The invention relates to the production of core-shell particles for encapsulating reactive components for single-component resin systems. In particular, the invention relates to the encapsulation of radical initiators such as peroxides. The invention further relates to a method for the 100% encapsulation of reactive components, whereby novel, storage-stable resin systems can be provided. At the same time, the core-shell particles are designed such that they can be opened nearly completely, easily and quickly during application, but have sufficient storage and shear stability before application.

  • Patent number: 8188028
Abstract: Surfactant-containing compositions are described which include a protein component that has the effect of improving the surface-active properties of the surfactants contained in the compositions. The surfactant-containing compositions having the protein component demonstrate significantly lower critical micelle concentrations (CMC), reduced surface tensions, and reduced interfacial tensions than do comparable compositions having no protein component. In addition, the surfactant-containing compositions having the protein component has the effect of converting greasy waste contaminants to surface active materials.

  • Patent number: 8088300
Abstract: Disclosed is a stabilized chlorine dioxide generating composition containing an oxy-chlorine salt, an acid source, optionally a free halogen source, and an endothermic agent. The endothermic agent neutralizes heat evolved by exothermic reaction of the oxy-chlorine salt by the endothermic reaction of the endothermic agent. Since the endothermic reaction eliminates and/or mitigates propagation of the exothermic reaction of the oxy-chlorine salt from a localized area through the total mass of the material, the chlorine dioxide generating composition is thereby stabilized during making, storing, or shipping the composition.
