Abstract: The process comprises insertion of an element in tiles by cementing, the element being obtained by sinking organic or inorganic objects into a transparent matrix made using polyester trivalent, acrylic, or epoxy resin, and a subsequent hermetic crystallization of the organic or inorganic element in the transparent matrix. The system for fixing the element in the tile can be done using a paper lattice and glass fibre with silicone glue or hot-gluing done on the back of the tile, or by simple cementing between the lateral surface the transparent element and the lateral surface of the recess made in the tile. The fixture can comprise a further stage of decorative and fixture-coating on the visible side of the tile. The invention can be applied on colored two-faces tiles so that the insert, thanks to the fact that it is transparent, can be visible on both sides.

  • Patent number: 7588654
Abstract: A fluid-filled chamber may include an outer barrier formed from a polymer material and a foam tensile member located within the outer barrier. In manufacturing the fluid-filled chamber, a mold may be contoured to substantially equalize compressive forces between the outer barrier and various portions of the tensile member, thereby providing substantially uniform bonding between the outer barrier and the tensile member. Surfaces of the tensile member may also be contoured to substantially equalize compressive forces. In some configurations, the outer barrier and tensile member may be formed from thermoplastic polymer materials that form a direct bond between the outer barrier and surfaces of tensile member.

Abstract: The invention relates to a rotomolding process for forming a multi-layer article of two different polymers with different melting points in which an outer layer polymer powder is added to a rotational molder along with an inner layer polymer powder that is separated from the outer layer powder by a release film. The release film has a particular melting point that is greater than that of the outer layer polymer and preferably between the melting points of the inside layer and outside layer polymers. In one embodiment, the release layer forms an enclosure or bag in which the inner layer (higher melting point) powder is enclosed. In another embodiment the release film forms a barrier between an insulated cavity and the mold. The process provides a means for a “one-shot” rotomolding method.

Abstract: The method employs a stationary mold having depositing recesses equipped in its inside with a deposition element such as a target electrode, and movable molds made slidable. A primary molding is performed to form a body portion and a cover member to have joint portions around their opening. The body portion left in the vertically sliding mold is deposited after it was densely covered with the depositing recesses. Next, the deposited body portion and the cover member, as left in the molds, are registered and mold clamped, and the molten metal is injected to integrated the joint portions.

Abstract: The invention relates to a membrane-electrode assembly having a multicomponent sealing rim, with the rim components being joined by means of two different joining methods. The rim construction of the membrane-electrode assembly comprises at least two materials (sealing material A and frame B) which are joined to one another both by adhesion and by physical locking. The frame B has at least one perforation through which the sealing material penetrates and establishes an intermeshing connection. Adhesive bonding methods, lamination processes and/or injection moulding processes are suitable for producing the multicomponent rim and the corresponding membrane-electrode assembly. The multicomponent rim construction has a high bond strength. The membrane-electrode assembly having a multicomponent rim is used in electrochemical devices such as fuel cells (PEMFCs, DMFCs, etc.), electrolysers or electrochemical sensors.

  • Patent number: 7582246
Abstract: Provided is a transferring and molding method capable of forming a molded article on which a pattern is transferred in a prescribed position by automatically correcting a shift when there is produced a molded article on which the pattern is transferred with a shift. When the pattern of a molded article has a shift, the shift dimension and the shift direction of the pattern of the molded article are detected as digital values, and positional correction is carried out by automatically moving the transfer film by the detected shift dimension toward the side opposite from the detected shift direction. Thereafter, the pattern is transferred in the prescribed position of the molded article that has undergone the transferring, and molding is carried out.

  • Publication number: 20090206515
Abstract: In the production of elongate plastic profiles (10), which usually takes place by the pultrusion process, the cured plastic profile (10) emerging from a die (14) is pulled through the stationary die (14) by a take-off device. This process only makes it possible to produce straight plastic profiles (10). The invention envisages producing curved plastic profiles (10) by using a die (14) corresponding to the curvature of the plastic profile (10). For moving the cured part of the plastic profile (10) out of the die (14), it is provided that the die (14) is moved back step by step in relation to the stationary plastic profile (10) counter to the direction of production (19). In order that the plastic profile (10) remains stationary in relation to the die (14) as this takes place, it is securely held outside the die (14) by a holding means (20) during the moving back of the die (14).
