  • Patent number: 4373410
Abstract: Method and apparatus for manufacturing polycrystalline diamond stud assemblies for a drill bit. The stud assembly is cylindrical in form and has a truncation at one marginal end thereof. The truncated end includes a shelf which forms a land positioned perpendicular to a back to provide a seat for the polycrystalline diamond cutter element. The land and back lie in perpendicular planes which intersect the longitudinal axial centerline of the stud. The cutter element is semicircular in form and represents a cylinder or wafer which has been bisected by cutting so that the diameter of the cylinder is received against the land while the rear face of the cutter element is received against the back. The cutter element is fabricated in a fixture having a cavity therein which receives the stud and element therewithin, and spaced abutment means so that one abutment means can be moved towards the other to place the elements of the stud assembly in compression.

  • Patent number: 4209166
Abstract: A universal jack and work positioning mechanism comprises a support structure having a base with a jack shaft being vertically movable relative to the support structure for vertical positioning of the work piece to be supported by the mechanism. An upwardly diverging cradle is connected to the shaft and is positioned to receive and provide primary support for a conduit work piece. A plurality of leveling arms extend from the lower portion of the cradle and orient various bottom and side positioning leveling screws in such manner that the tubular work piece is engaged at its bottom and side portions and is accurately positionable through manipulation of the leveling adjustment elements. A pivotal orienting element is supported by one of the leveling arms and is so manipulatable as to position a universal orientable adjustment element to various selective positions thus allowing adaptability of the mechanism for support and adjustment of different kinds of tubular work pieces such as pipes, tee fittings, 45.

  • Patent number: 4096023
Abstract: A support assembly including elongated upper and lower parallel plates. A plurality of column supports separate and interconnect the parallel plates. A clamping assembly is supported by the plates, the clamping assembly having vertical and horizontal pressure screw assemblies. A vertical pressure screw assembly is mounted upon the upper plate adjacent each end thereof, and a horizontal pressure screw assembly is mounted upon the lower plate at each end thereof. Both vertical and horizontal pressure screw assemblies project into the space between the upper and lower plates. An annular flexible platform is attached to the lower plate adjacent each end thereof, beneath each vertical pressure screw assembly, and projects into the space between the plates. Lenses, which are to be fixed together by adhesive means to form a combination lens, are received upon a flexible platform, aligned by action of a horizontal pressure screw assembly, and pressed together by action of a vertical pressure screw assembly.

  • Patent number: RE35719
Abstract: A holding device for vertically positioning a windshield or rear window so that it can be bonded into the frame of a motor vehicle. It has a holding part which can be inserted into a lower transverse part of the frame and a series of support steps transversely spaced from one another in a direction parallel to the transverse part of the frame and pivotally connected to the holding part so that they can individually and elastically pivot out to a holding position or be pressed into an out-of-the way position. The steps each have a support face, the faces being arranged in step wise fashion at an equal vertical distance from each other.
