  • Patent number: 11556407
Abstract: Described is an improved approach to implement fast detection of node death. Instead of just relying on multiple heart beats to fail in order to determine whether a node is dead, the present approach performs an on demand validation using RDMA to determine whether the node is reachable, where the approach of using RDMA is significantly faster than the heartbeat approach.

  • Patent number: 11509572
Abstract: In one illustrative example, a network node connected in a network fabric may identify that it is established as part of a multicast distribution tree for forwarding multicast traffic from a source node to one or more host receiver devices of a multicast group. In response, the network node may propagate in the network fabric a message for advertising the network node as a candidate local source node at which to join the multicast group. The message for advertising may include data such as a reachability metric. The propagation of the message may be part of a flooding of such messages in the network fabric. The network node serving as the candidate local source node may thereafter “locally” join a host receiver device in the multicast group at the network node so that the device may receive the multicast traffic from the source node via the network node.

  • Patent number: 11503610
Abstract: Techniques and apparatuses are described for enabling user equipment to coordinate for interference cancelation. In some aspects, base stations form a user equipment coordination set by pairing a UE of a base station with another UE of another base station. The UE receives, from the other UE, information regarding an uplink transmission of the other UE to the other base station, the information including I/Q samples for the uplink transmission. Based on the received information, the UE can model interference from the uplink transmission of the other UE to a reception of a downlink transmission by the base station to the UE. After the UE receives the downlink transmission, the UE cancels, based on the modeling of the interference, the interference to the received downlink transmission from the uplink transmission of the other UE. By so doing, receiver performance or link quality of the interference-canceling UE can be improved.

  • Patent number: 11457494
Abstract: This application provides a communication method, a communications device, and a network device. When a beam failure occurs in a secondary cell of the communications device, the communications device sends a beam failure recovery request to the network device by using a PUCCH or a MAC CE, and determines an active state time of DRX based on a status of the beam failure recovery request. The communications device may also determine a stopping time of an uplink retransmission timer based on a running status of a configured grant timer, where the DRX of the communications device is in an active state when the uplink retransmission timer works; and monitors a PDCCH when the DRX of the communications device is in the active state.

  • Patent number: 11456913
Abstract: Switching hubs such as relay devices capable of path control are arranged at a plurality of branch positions respectively on a wire harness including a trunk line of a communication line. Each of the relay devices includes a failure detection part, a routing map, and a path control part. The trunk line of the communication line is formed to make it possible to use a plurality of types of paths selectively. When the failure detection part in any relay device detects a failure, an instruction of path change is given to another relay device therefrom. When any relay device receives an instruction of path change from another relay device, the routing maps in the relay device receiving the instruction are switched according to a failure occurrence portion. A VLAN is constructed on an Ethernet communication network, and logical assignment of the VLAN is controlled by a central gateway.

  • Patent number: 11444793
Abstract: In general, techniques are described for enabling a network of network devices (or “nodes”) to provide redundant multicast streams from redundant multicast sources to an egress network node. In some examples, the egress network node (or a controller for the network) computes maximally redundant trees (MRTs) from the egress network node to a virtual proxy node virtually added to the network topology by the egress network node for redundant multicast sources of redundant multicast streams.

  • Patent number: 11438260
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for forwarding an MPLS data packet are provided, which are used in an environment of hybrid networking of an SR network and a non-SR network. The method includes: when obtaining a to-be-sent MPLS data packet, a first SR router in an SR network determines whether a next-hop router supports an SR characteristic; the first SR router encapsulates the MPLS data packet into an IP tunnel when determining that the next-hop router does not support the SR characteristic, and sends an encapsulated MPLS data packet to the next-hop router to enable the encapsulated MPLS data packet to be forwarded, based on an IP routing table, to a second SR router. According to the application, correct forwarding of an MPLS data packet is completed in an environment of hybrid networking of an SR router and a non-SR router.

  • Patent number: 11432183
Abstract: A method and system to control carrier aggregation in a wireless communication system including a first access node and a second access node, where the first access node has a first respective backhaul connection, where the second access node has a second respective backhaul connection, where the first access node supports serving user equipment devices (UEs) with standalone connectivity, and where the first and second access nodes cooperatively support serving UEs with dual connectivity. A method includes detecting that the second respective backhaul connection of the second access node is threshold heavily loaded. And the method includes, based at least in part on the detecting that the second respective backhaul connection of the second access node is threshold heavily loaded, causing the first access node to suppress an extent of carrier-aggregation service that the first access node will provide to any standalone-connected UEs, to help free up capacity for dual-connectivity service.
