  • Patent number: 10945506
Abstract: A contour detection apparatus includes a processor. The processor learns to detect a nail contour being a detection target by setting an initial shape including feature points based on learning data each being image data on a finger including a learning target nail, and setting, as a reference point, a feature point among the feature points corresponding to a reference position, thereby obtaining contour detection information. The processor arranges, in treatment target data being image data on a finger including a treatment target nail, an initial position of the shape such that a point corresponding to the reference position in a contour of the finger including the treatment target nail is superposed on the reference point, and fits the shape to the treatment target nail from the initial position, thereby detecting the nail contour of the treatment target nail.

Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods of detecting user identity, differentiating between users of a computerized service, detecting a possible attacker, and flagging a particular financial transaction or a particular retail transaction as being possibly-fraudulent. The methods include monitoring of user-side input-unit interactions, in general and in response to an interference introduced to user-interface elements. The monitored interactions are analyzed, and enable extraction of hardware-specific features of a computer mouse, a touchpad, a touch-screen, a keyboard, or other input unit. In some methods, detection of different mouse polling rates or different mouse DPI values, across two different usage sessions in the same financial account, enables the method to detect a possibly-fraudulent transaction.

Abstract: A bio-sensor device includes a surface for touching by a body part, such as a finger. A light source, such as an array of LEDs, emit light through the surface so as to be reflected and partially absorbed by the body part An array of photodetectors detects light reflected back by the body part and generates signals corresponding to an image of the light reflection, which corresponds to the light absorption pattern in the body part. The light absorption pattern may correlate to a fingerprint, a blood vessel pattern, blood movement within the blood vessels, or other biometric feature. A processor receives the signals from the photodetectors and analyzes the signals to determine a characteristic of the body part. The characteristic may be used to authenticate the user of the bio-sensor device by comparing the detected characteristic to a stored characteristic.

Abstract: This document describes an improved method for identifying of characteristic points of a calibration pattern within a set of candidate points in an image of the calibration pattern. The method includes scaling a template arrangement of template points that corresponds to the calibration pattern to an initial size. The method uses the scaled template arrangement to determine potential characteristic points. The method then determines whether the potential characteristic points meet a termination criterion. If the termination criterion is not met, the scaling of the template arrangement is modified and the previous step and this step are repeated. If the termination criterion is met, the potential characteristic points are identified as the characteristic points. In this way, the described method provides a robust means to automatically identify the characteristic points in the image of the calibration pattern without having to determine the distance between a camera and the calibration pattern.

Abstract: There are described methods and systems for facilitating identification of an object-of-interest. A face similarity score and a body similarity score of a query image relative to a gallery image are determined. A fused similarity score of the query image relative to the gallery image is determined by applying a relationship between the face similarity score, the body similarity score, and the fused similarity score. The fused similarity score is indicative of whether or not the object-of-interest and the potential object-of-interest are the same object-of-interest. For example, a machine learning process is used to fuse the face similarity score and the body similarity into the fused similarity score. The process is repeated for multiple gallery images. The gallery images may then be ranked according to their respective fused similarity scores.

Abstract: Unauthorized use of a secured device can be prevented using customized hardware that only permits operation of the secured device while an enable signal is being generated, and prevents its operation at all other times. The enable signal is only generated when variations in incoming ultrasound waves indicate that a specific ultrasound activation signal has arrived. This ultrasound activation signal is generated by an activation unit that is acoustically coupled into an ultrasound conductive body (e.g., a person's body). Because the ultrasound activation signal cannot cross air gaps, the ultrasound activation signal will only be able to reach its destination when both the activation unit and the secured device maintain acoustic contact with the ultrasound conductive body. • Patent number: 10867182
Abstract: An object recognition method and system thereof are provided. A recognition result of a first object of a (i?1)th frame of a video stream is obtained. A ith frame is received, and a second object is detected from the ith frame. Whether the first object and the second object are corresponding to the same target object is determined according to a position of the first object in the (i?1)th frame and a position of the second object in the ith frame. If the first object and the second object are corresponding to the same target object, whether a recognition confidence level is greater than a predetermined threshold is determined so as to perform the object recognition on the second object or assign the recognition result of the first object to the second object.

Abstract: One embodiment described herein can provide a system for enabling a service over a computer network. During operation, the system receives, from a first client device, an object-distribution request. In response to the request, the system generates an object package containing a number of objects based on the request and obtains at least one challenge associated with the object package and a predetermined response corresponding to the challenge. The system then presents the challenge to a user of a second client device and receives a response to the challenge from the second client device. In response to the received response to the challenge meeting one or more of predetermined criteria, the system causes the object package to be distributed to the second client device over the computer network.
