Abstract: A pump comprises a housing, with an interior defining a rotor path, an inlet formed in the housing at a first position on said rotor path, an outlet formed in the housing at a second position on said rotor path spaced from said first position. A rotor is rotatable in the housing with a first surface that seals against the housing. Abstract: A roller pump including a drive shaft, a motor, a roller head assembly, a stator housing, and an occlusion adjustment assembly. The drive shaft is coupled to the motor. The roller head assembly includes a hub, a slide body, and a roller. The hub is mounted to the drive shaft, and maintains the slide body and the roller. The stator housing forms a raceway receiving surface. The occlusion adjustment assembly includes an actuator knob, an actuating structure, and a ground shaft. The actuating structure interfaces with the slide body, and thus the roller, with rotation of the knob. The ground shaft supports the knob and is rotationally isolated from the drive shaft. A user and optionally a control system can adjust occlusion while the pump continuously delivers a fluid medium.

Abstract: A peristaltic pump system includes elastomeric pump tubing and a roller pump. The pump tubing has a pumping segment and an inlet segment. The inlet segment has an inlet segment outer diameter. The pumping segment has a pumping segment outer diameter less than the inlet segment outer diameter. The roller pump has a roller assembly and a roller assembly housing. The roller assembly is disposed within the roller assembly housing and engaged with the pumping segment within the roller assembly housing. The roller assembly housing has an inlet gap formed through the roller assembly housing. The inlet gap defines an inlet gap inner diameter smaller than the pumping segment outer diameter. The inlet gap is adapted to frictionally receive the inlet segment for aligning the pump tubing with a roller assembly and mitigate longitudinal movement of the pump tubing into the roller assembly housing.

Abstract: Tube roller pumps for blood treatment devices are disclosed. The pumps include a curved surface with a rotor rotatable therein. The rotor attaches via a reception means to a drive shaft of the pump. The rotor has a first locking element for axially locking the rotor on the shaft and a second locking element for rotationally coupling the shaft and the rotor. The reception means and the drive shaft guide the rotor to a position on the shaft, when pushed onto the shaft, and, at this position, the first element may be moved by the shaft from locked to released. The rotor, when pushed further onto the shaft, is moved to another position at which the first element is automatically moved back to locked and the second element may be brought into manual engagement with the shaft to transmit torque from the shaft to the rotor.

The pumps include a pump housing having a bearing surface and a rotor inside the bearing surface, wherein a tube is introduced between the bearing surface and the rotor in loop shape. Means for mounting the tubing segment are provided so the tubing segment can be pivot by pivoting a tilting element on which the tubing segment is at least partly mounted. A cover is mounted on the pump housing so that when closed upon pivoting the tubing segment toward the closed cover it constitutes a counter-bearing for the tilting element by which the tubing segment can be aligned with the pump housing. • Publication number: 20130343938
Abstract: A pump for pumping fluid using peristaltic compression. The pump includes a rotor and a roller. The rotor includes a first cam that extends along a circumferential direction relative to the rotor. The first cam has first and second dwells. The roller is movable relative to the rotor between the first dwell and the second dwell of the first cam as the rotor rotates in a first direction and a second direction. The rotor includes a second cam extending radially from its shaft for engaging the roller. Contact between the second cam and the roller increases frictional resistance between the rotor and the roller as the roller translates between the first and second dwells of the first cam such that the roller transitions between the first and second dwells without slipping.

Abstract: The invention relates to the field of fluid pumps and medical treatment devices, in particular dialysis machines. The object of the invention is to design methods and devices such that the operating pressures and flow rates of the fluid pumps assume the desired characteristics, in particular constant values or controlled profiles. This object is achieved in that the operating point of a peristaltic hose roller pump is adjusted based on the angle of rotation of the pump rotor or by adjusting the operating point of a centrifugal pump in accordance with a profile.

Abstract: A peristaltic pump, and related system method are provided. The peristaltic pump includes a cam shaft, first and second pinch-valve cams, first and second pinch-valve cam followers, a plunger cam, a plunger-cam follower, a tube receiver, and a spring-biased plunger. The first and second pinch-valve cams are coupled to the cam shaft. The first and second pinch-valve cam followers each engage the first and second pinch-valve cams, respectively. The plunger cam is coupled to the cam shaft. The plunger-cam follower engages the plunger cam. The tube receiver is configured to receive a tube. The spring-biased plunger is coupled to the plunger-cam follower such that the expansion of the plunger cam along a radial angle intersecting the plunger-cam follower as the cam shaft rotates pushes the plunger cam follower towards the plunger and thereby disengages the spring-biased plunger from the tube. A spring coupled to the spring-biased plunger biases the spring-biased plunger to apply the crushing force to the tube.
