Abstract: It has been found that toothpastes containing balance amounts of calcium based abrasive, copolymer of vinylmethylether and maleic acid and clay have significantly better stability even at elevated temperature. It has also been determined that the selected combination allows for complete removal of or at least a significant reduction in thickening silica, with almost no adverse effect on rheology. Disclosed is a toothpaste composition comprising: (i) a calcium based abrasive; (ii) a copolymer of vinylmethyl ether and maleic acid; and (iii) a clay, wherein ratio of the calcium based abrasive to said copolymer of vinylmethyl ether and maleic acid is at least 1:0075 and ratio of said calcium based abrasive to said clay is at least 1:0.02.

Abstract: The present invention relates to compositions and methods for calcifying dental tissue, e.g., preventing or treating dental hypersensitivity. An oral composition of arginine bicarbonate and calcium carbonate promotes the formation of dentinal tubule plugs aided by combining calcium and phosphate in the fluid. The combined one or more resins are present in a suitable amount such that the composition, when the solvent evaporates, will dry to form a solid coating that sticks to the skin, nail or mucosal membrane to which the composition is applied, and maintain the pharmacologically active agent over a sustained period of time in contact with sites on the skin or mucosal membranes exhibiting symptoms of the disease. Abstract: A therapeutic rinse for treating a sore throat including a self heating container having a reservoir. The self heating container is capable of reaching a temperature of at least 130 degrees Fahrenheit when activated. The therapeutic rinse includes a liquid composition having sodium chloride, water, an antibiotic, and a variety of vitamins, minerals and herbs stored in the reservoir of the self heating container. During use, the self heating container is activated and the liquid composition is heated inside the reservoir to about 130 degrees Fahrenheit.
Abstract: A composition for endodontic irrigation is provided. The composition includes a chemical depilatory during intra-canal, and chemo-mechanical instrumentation in endodontic. The composition includes calcium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide, sodium hydroxide, and potassium thioglycolate or calcium thioglycolate to form an effective root canal medicament. Abstract: Presently described are dental compositions comprising one or more fatty mono(meth)acrylates, methods of use, dental articles, and methods of making dental compositions. Abstract: The present invention is directed to improved sweetener compositions and oral care compositions, especially those in the form of a toothpaste or oral/dental rinse, comprising the same. The sweetener composition comprises a combination of saccharin, sucralose and a rebaudioside, or sweeteners of similar sucrose equivalence and type, preferably in a ratio of about 1:about 1: about 2. The sweetener composition of the invention was found to significantly improve the taste profile, long lasting freshness and clean feel of oral care compositions and to deliver an in-use sweetness that was more natural and pleasant than artificial sweeteners alone.

Abstract: This invention comprises a set of dental products and methods to prevent and treat dentinal hypersensitivity, prevent tooth decay, and heal incipient caries by means of Mouth Friendly® dental products containing calcium carbonate, having a preferred particle size of 1 to 100 nanometers (nm), and a preferred weight range of 5 to 30%. Said products must contain 8 to 95 weight percent of xylitol, plus the surfactant system described in U.S. Pat. No. 5,496,541 (Mar. 5, 1996) and U.S. Pat. No. 5,900,230 (May 4, 1999). It is further required that all irritants and other mouth unfriendly ingredients be absent from the dental products of this invention. Additional features of this invention include prevention and treatment of aphthous ulcers, oral mucositis, periodontal disease, perioral dermatitis, halitosis, oral candida, chapped lips, and oral plaque and tartar. This invention also ameliorates the condition of those who suffer from xerostomia and cold sores.

In the patch for upper teeth, a central portion covering right and left upper central incisors is widest. Abstract: An oral care composition which is a liquid at or below room temperature and which forms a two-phase cloudy system at body temperature and wherein the composition comprises a water-soluble non-ionic polymer, such as HPC, having a cloud point in the composition at a temperature no higher than about 38° C., for combating (i.e. helping to prevent, inhibit and/or treat) dentinal hypersensitivity.

Abstract: A tooth sensitivity treatment composition is disclosed. The composition includes a compound of formula I M1-A-M2-B-M1??(I) wherein: M1 is a monovalent or divalent metal; M2 is a polyvalent metal or metal oxide; and A and B are, independently, selected from the group consisting of C2-C6 diacids, triacids, and tetraacids. Methods for treating tooth sensitivity are also disclosed.

Abstract: The invention includes a dentifrice composition that comprises a zinc ion source, a polyphosphate ion source, an anethole, and a silica. The silica has a mean particle size of about 5 to about 12 microns, an Einlehner hardness of about 1 to about 20, and an oil absorption of about 40 to less than about 100 cc/100 g. The composition contains zinc ions and polyphosphate ions in a weight ratio of about 0.1:1 to about 10:1 and has a RDA value of about 100 to about 200 and a PCR value of about 75 to about 110. Related methods are also included.
