Abstract: A bioscaffolding can be formed within a post-myocardial infarct region sufficient to cause attenuation of a rate of myocardial infarct expansion. A bioscaffolding may further be formed in the post-myocardial infarct region to cause an increase in posterior left ventricular wall thickness. The gel or bioscaffolding can be formed from a mixture of gel components of different gelation systems. For example, a bioscaffolding can be formed by mixing at least two different components of at least two different two-component gelation systems to form a first mixture and by mixing at least two different components (other than the components that make up the first mixture) of the at least two different two-component gelation systems to form a second mixture.

Abstract: A dietary supplement for removing or preventing the bio-accumulation of heavy metals in the body includes one or more chelators, precursors therefore, with at least one chelator capable of crossing the blood brain barrier to promote capture of a heavy metal ion from a site in the central nervous system, and a vascular system promoter for assisting in distributing the chelators within the body. The chelator then crosses back through the blood brain barrier with the entrained heavy metal ion. Preferably, one or more secondary chelators promotes binding any of the heavy metal released from the primary chelator and hold it for removal via an excretion pathway. In one embodiment, the supplement includes a cilantro extract to assist the body's' natural defense systems in removing mercury from the human body.

Abstract: The irritation experienced by many males resulting from shaving with a razor and/or a depilatory has been well documented. There are several causes, the most outstanding being the tendency of the clipped hair to curl and grow inward beneath the skin surface. The shaved surface then bumps as the combined result of shaving irritation and clipped hairs which have not grown straight through the skin. The action of an astringent solution works to eliminate and prevent shaving irritation. The addition of ALUMINUM POTASSIUM SULFATE DODECAHYDRATE to ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL causes the pore size of the shave surface to be reduced and gives the topical antiseptic needed to eliminate inflammation. The reduction of pore size denies the clipped hair the room to curl inward therefore causing it to grow straight through the skin surface which, essentially, prepares it for clipping again. The following proportions of each ingredient are used to make the after shave solution: To 95 ML.

Abstract: The invention provides a multivitamin and mineral nutritional supplement composition comprising at least one polyvalent metal and at least one oxidizable vitamin with substantially improved resistance to reactions that lead to darkening and/or spotting and reactions that may reduce the potency of oxidizable vitamins. The composition is a multivitamin and mineral composition comprising at least one polyvalent metal and at least one oxidizable vitamin wherein the composition is substantially free of mobile bound water. The invention also includes methods for making such a composition and methods of preventing or reducing oxidation, improving the stability of oxidizable vitamins, and stabilizing the disintegration time of a multi-vitamin and mineral nutritional supplement composition.

Abstract: The present invention describes a novel antimicrobial ion delivery system (IDS) article, methods of making the article, and its applications in cleaning dentures and dentistry equipment. The novel IDS entails a source of oligodynamic metal ions embedded in a matrix that allows for the release of metal ions in water at concentrations that are biocidals and prevent biofilm formation. The preferred IDS contains particles made of metallic alloys and bound to a matrix that ensures the controlled release of ions in water. The novel IDS is safe for use in humans and it is environment friendly and biodegradable.

Abstract: A vaccine composition comprising two valences is provided: (i) a first valence which is adjuvant-enhanced with aluminum hydroxide and (ii) a second valence which contains a polysaccharide of bacterial capsule comprising one or more o-acetyl groups and which is not adsorbed with aluminum oxide due to the presence of a protecting compound which may be a phosphate, a citrate or a carbonate and which prevents the adsorption. The first valence can be any vaccine valence. In one particular embodiment, the vaccine composition contains (i) Hepatitis A valence, adsorbed on aluminum hydroxide and (ii) the typhoid fever valence formed by the polysaccharide Vi of the Salmonella typhi capsule.
