Abstract: A telescoping syringe suitable for use with medications and other materials is presented. The telescoping syringe includes a valve, a plunger, and a barrel. The valve further includes a barrier, an outlet(s) through the barrier, and an annular extension extending from the barrier. The plunger further includes an inlet(s) and a first side wall with a proximal wall. The barrel includes a second side wall with a distal wall at one end and an open end at another end. The plunger is extendable from and retractable into the barrel at the open end via slidable engagement between first and second walls. The valve directly contacts one end of the first wall so that an annular flange slidingly engages an annular groove. The valve and the barrel slidingly contact the plunger so as to open and to close the inlet(s) and/or the outlet(s).

Abstract: A novel single use auto-injector for delivering a fixed amount of medicament is described. The auto-injector may include a sealed housing rotatably held in a cover. Once the auto-injector is positioned at the injection location, the user can transition the housing from a locked to an armed position. The user can then compress the sealed housing into the cover, triggering activation mechanisms that initiate the injection. A first activation mechanism engages an interlock to prevent reuse of the auto-injector. A second activation mechanism straightens and extends a curved needle to a set the exposed needle length. Abstract: An operation tool for a fluid injector includes an outer cylinder having a housing extending from a first open end to a second open end, and a selective transfer mechanism provided on the outer cylinder. The selective transfer mechanism moves the fluid injector from an initial position to a first protrusion position and then to a second protrusion position in the housing of the outer cylinder. When the fluid injector is at the initial position, the multi-microneedle device has microneedles retracted from the first open end and positioned inside the housing, when the fluid injector is at the first protrusion position, the microneedles are protruded out to a first distance from the first open end, and when the fluid injector is at the second protrusion position, the microneedles are protruded out to a second distance from the first open end. The second distance is shorter than the first distance.

  • Patent number: 10576205
Abstract: It is known that fluids, for example, drugs, may be administered via a syringe. It is further known that in some instances, a second fluid must be administered following the administration of a first fluid in order to flush the first fluid. There are numerous reasons for why such flushing may be required and/or desirable. For example, flushing ensures that a patient has received the entirety of a dose of the first fluid (e.g., a drug), that the first fluid does not mix and/or react with a subsequently administered (third) fluid that may be incompatible with the first fluid, and/or that the infusion lines are clean and/or primed for a subsequent infusion, to cite a few examples. The present invention is a novel syringe design that houses the flushing solution as part of the syringe to streamline the fluid delivery (drug) and the flushing solution subsequently.

Abstract: An integrated vascular delivery system and method of use, the system including: a frame having a catheter hub that provides a first anchoring point on the patient and receives a catheter insertable in the patient to transfer fluid at an insertion site, a stabilization hub that provides a second anchoring point on the patient, at least one lateral member extending between the catheter and stabilization hubs, and a fluidic channel. The frame operates in a folded configuration in which the hubs are coupleable and an unfolded configuration in which the anchoring points are distributed around the insertion site to anchor the frame to the patient, thereby stabilizing the catheter. In some embodiments, the system further includes a septum that helps prevent fluid leakage from the catheter hub, or a needle shield that covers the distal end of a needle used during catheter insertion.

  • Patent number: 10561801
Abstract: A shielding needle assembly is provided with a hub having a needle cannula with a puncture tip extending from a forward end thereof, and a shield member in telescoping association with the hub. A drive member biases the hub and the shield member away from each other for relative telescopic movement between a first position in which the puncture tip extends from a forward end of the shield member, and a second position in which the puncture tip is encompassed within the shield member. A pivoting lever maintains the hub and the shield member in the first position against the bias of the drive member. The lever is pivotable during contact with a patient's skin surface, thereby releasing the hub and the shield member from the first position and permitting the drive member to bias the hub and the shield member toward the second position.
