Abstract: A device is proposed for generating specific electrical voltage values for consumers associated with an internal combustion engine. The device also encompasses a voltage elevating circuit which can be switched on in the vicinity of the minimum voltages for the consumers. This means that this voltage elevating circuit does not need to be switched on continuously during engine operation, but rather only at times of increased power needs. The voltage elevating circuit has a series circuit of a coil 20 and a diode 21 in a voltage supply line, and the connecting point of these two components is briefly closed off from the other supply line in a clocked manner. The activation of the voltage elevating circuit can be switched on and off in accordance with the input and output voltages and in accordance with the maximum permissible switching current. Depending on the clock frequency of the switch 23, the line inductance of the supply line suffices as an inductance 20.

Abstract: A pressure responsive reed switch operating mechanism comprises a magnet mounted on a rod which is fixed to a dashpot piston and which is spring urged against a movable stop. The location of the stop is controlled by a pressure responsive system comprising a fluid pressure servo motor, a buckling link, a lever and a coil spring. The stop is stationary and the magnet displaced from its switch actuating location until the predetermined switching pressure is established whereupon the coil spring yields and the buckling link buckles with a snap action so that the stop is moved rapidly away from the rod. The rod follows the stop slowly, due to the combined action of the dashpot and the spring, until it reabuts the stop whereby the magnet is moved into position to actuate the reed switch a predetermined time interval after establishment of the switching pressure.
Abstract: A fuel supply apparatus for internal combustion engines is proposed, which has a fuel injection pump for supplying a regulatable fuel injection quantity, a ventilation apparatus for the fuel injection pump, a fuel quantity meter and a means of exhaust gas recirculation controlled by fuel quantity. A ventilation valve responding to a predetermined pump interior pressure is included in an overflow line in order to cool the fuel injection pump by connection with the fuel supply container. The fuel quantity meter is embodied as a spring-loaded piston-type fuel quantity meter and has a travel receptor which generates an electrical output signal and delivers it to a control member of the exhaust gas recirculation system for varying the recirculated exhaust gas quantity accordingly.
Abstract: An apparatus for regulating the exhaust gas recycling rate in an internal combustion engine having self-ignition is proposed, in which a set-point or nominal ignition delay value is ascertained, and the actual ignition delay value is regulated to this nominal value. The nominal ignition delay value is efficaciously derived from a multi-dimensional memory, the coordinate values of which are dependent on at least load and rpm. The ignition delay time is ascertained from a comparison of the signal for the injection onset of an injection nozzle, for instance, and the signal of a pressure sensor communicating with the combustion chamber.
Abstract: An electronic control system for internal combustion engines which has signal generator circuits for the fuel metering and for the ignition. During starting, especially in the case of cold starting, three different phases are provided for controlling the injected fuel quantity and for regulating the fuel quantity downward; furthermore, the ignition angle is adjusted in accordance with temperature and rpm. In terms of the fuel metering, the boundary between the first and second phase is dependent on the rpm or on a maximum total number of revolution cycles, and the end of the second phase is predetermined by a minimum metering signal which is dependent on temperature. In the ignition system, there is an increasing adjustment toward "early" approximately in the rpm range between 200 and 600 revolutions per minute as well as an increasing adjustment toward "late" as the temperature increases.

Abstract: A pressure control valve to control the pressure of a fluid in a fluid system so that it remains constant. This type of valve can be utilized as element of a fuel injection system for internal combustion engines, and has storage means which are independent of the valve member, and actuatable by the pressure of the fluid. The pressure control valve comprises a housing and a support assembly urged toward a valve seat by a control spring. Additionally, a storage spring in the support assembly urges a closing member toward the valve seat. The closing member is slidably received in a bore in the support assembly. The support assembly is connected to a membrane which is tensioned between the housing members. Other variations of this device are also revealed herein.

Abstract: A gas purification system has: a first treatment apparatus, which purifies an untreated feed gas, containing toxic ingredients such as HCN gas, H.sub.2 S gas and NH.sub.3 gas, into a primary treated gas by causing the feed gas to contact with an alkaline absorbent liquid; an absorbent-liquid-resuscitation apparatus, which refreshes the absorbent liquid, after absorbing the toxic ingredients, by bubblingly introducing a resuscitation gas; and a second treatment apparatus, which further purifies the primary treated gas into a secondary treated gas by strippingly capturing any possible remnant NH.sub.3 gas still present in the former. The resuscitation gas and the toxic-ingredient-absorbed absorbent liquid are forcibly converged by premix nozzles into combined gas/liquid jets as are injected into the absorbent-liquid-resuscitation apparatus.
Abstract: A fuel injection pump for an internal combustion engine is proposed having an adjustment piston for the adjustment of the onset of the injection, on which an rpm-proportional fuel pressure determined by a pressure control valve and a pressure valve placed behind it and controllable in dependence on temperature acts. An adjustment device controls a full load stop for the limitation of the full-load fuel maximally injected by the fuel injection pump. The adjustment device has a movable piston for this purpose disposed movably in a work bore. The circumference of the piston is formed as a cam and is scanned by a scanner determining the position of the full load stop. The movable piston is acted on one side by the fuel pressure in the suction chamber and on the other side by a spring and by the fuel pressure between the pressure control valve and the pressure valve. This results in a compensation of the fuel pressure force at the movable piston, which is caused by the pressure valve.
Abstract: An apparatus for enclosing objects, for example, candies, with a sheet of packaging material has a tube forming and guiding apparatus. To tightly fit the tube to the objects, an elastic collar is arranged at the end of the tube forming and guiding apparatus in the shape of a funnel and under tension, so that the collar presses the tube against the objects and forces superfluous packaging material into an overlap of the packaging material edges.
Abstract: A fuel metering system having a .lambda. regulation device in which the delay periods known per se from the prior art are variable upon the switchover of the integration direction of an integrator included in the .lambda. regulation system. This variation produces a shortening of the delay period, as a result of which it is possible to prevent an excessive enrichment of the mixture. The invention relates to a controllable reduction of the individual delay signal as well as a control of the total duration of control exerted on the delay signals as they appear. The invention is independent of whether it is realized by either analog or digital circuit technology.

Abstract: A brake force amplifier for a multiple-circuit brake system. The brake force amplifier has a multiple-circuit brake valve, parallel to which a switching valve is provided. This switching valve is actuated by a main cylinder pressure in exactly the same manner as the brake valve. When there is no pressure available in a presurizing apparatus supplying the brake force amplifier with pressure medium, the switching valve keeps the brake valve ineffective. When a brake force amplifier of this kind is used in an anti-skid apparatus, an apparatus is created which has lower cost, lower weight and a smaller structural volume than known designs and the function of which is improved in terms of noise and retroactive effect on the pedal. The brake force amplifier is intended for a multiple-circuit brake system for motor vehicles.
Abstract: An electronic regulating device for regulating the rpm of an internal combustion engine having self-ignition in accordance with at least rpm, fuel quantity and accelerator-pedal position is proposed. The device has a PI regulator with feedback, for example, and is characterized in that the regulator itself is controllable in accordance with the respective rpm deviation. This is effected, with a view to the desired stability of operation, even in the presence of very steep characteristic curves, and the control is effected with a limitation of the respective maximum rpm deviation. To this end, one upper and one lower threshold characteristic curve are realized at either side of a static shutoff characteristic curve. These threshold curves are formed in accordance with rpm and accelerator-pedal position, and where there is a discrete regulator structure, in the case of limitation, they determine the voltage over the capacitor of the regulator determining the I component.
Abstract: A device for the control of at least one throttle diameter in a control line, especially in a line carrying fuel for an internal combustion engine, is proposed. The device includes at least one circle segment-like control section in a control bore intersecting the control line, the section pivotable around an axle and opening to a larger or lesser degree the throttle diameter formed by the intersection. The control bore has a circularly arched sealing surface surrounding the throttle diameter extending eccentrically to the axle and with which the control section, also disposed eccentrically to the axle and disposed pivotably, works together in such a way, that the radial distance between the circumference of the control section and the sealing surface is nearly zero when the control section is in a closed position, and increases during a pivotal movement in the direction of opening the throttle diameter.
Abstract: A rotary vacuum pump is proposed, having a rotor with vanes which rotates eccentrically within a housing bore. Each vane is coupled with a body which is ineffective at relatively low pump rpm; however, at higher rpm, the body engages the vane in such a manner that it removes the vane from its track within the housing bore.In this manner, an rpm-dependent shutoff device is created for the pump. In cooperation with the furnishing of underpressure as an auxiliary pressure in motor vehicles, the pump is used to supplement the underpressure which prevails when the internal combustion engine is at low, idling rpm; this prevailing underpressure is at a very low pressure level, and so when it is thus supplemented there is sufficient auxiliary vacuum force available over the entire rpm range.

Abstract: An overspeed safety means for fuel injection pumps of internal combustion engines in which an electrically actuatable valve is retained by an electromagnet provided in an electrical circuit in an open, retracted position which assures the normal operation of the engine or of the fuel injection pump. The electrical circuit includes a destructable loop which is located adjacent to a device deflectable in response to centrifugal force; when this device is deflected into a position corresponding to a specific threshold rpm, it severs the loop in the circuit, thus closing the valve and terminating injection.
Abstract: A fuel quantity measuring apparatus, preferably for a Diesel engine, is proposed in which the course of the fuel pressure is evaluated. A specialized pressure gradient of a first polarity marks the onset of supply or injection, and the maximum of the pressure gradient of the other polarity represents the end of injection or supply. The question of which designation prevails, whether injection onset and end or supply onset and end, is determined by the measurement location, that is, whether it is in the direction of the injection valve or in the direction of the supply element of the fuel supply pump. The injection quantity, for example, may be determined via the integral of the pressure during the metering period. It is recommended, when a piezoelectric pressure receptor is used, that a resistor-capacitor element be switched parallel thereto.

The object of the invention is to maintain or re-obtain the original association between the fuel quantity and the position signal of the quantity-determining member for the purpose of providing a correct indication of the load state existing at a particular time. The drift compensation is intended to be capable of being performed manually, semi-automatically, or automatically, in an additive and/or multiplicative manner. It can furthermore be realized via a preferably rpm-dependent characteristic curve. The various values may be ascertained, for instance, in connection with running-out and running-up tests.

Abstract: An internal combustion engine is provided with an ion current sensor in the exhaust conduit. The sensor may be simply a spark plug across which is applied the vehicle battery voltage. The operation of the engine at various values of mixture composition yields characteristic curves for the ion current and for the fluctuations in the ion current as a function of the air number. These characteristic data are used to provide set point values against which the prevailing ion current is compared. If a set point value is exceeded, the fuel-air mixture is adjusted accordingly by an integral controller.
Abstract: A runner-type lubricating device for a vertical engine, in which a power gear is secured to a rotary shaft and properly meshed with a driven gear secured to a runner, with a bracket for pivotally supporting the runner secured to a crank case by a fixing means.
