    Abstract: A regulating device for the supply quantity of an injection pump for internal combustion engines having an electromagnet system as a component of a fuel quantity final control element is proposed. The fuel quantity final control element effects the controlling position of a control member, which fixes the supply onset or end by the injection pump through the closing or opening, respectively, of a relief conduit of the pump work chamber. The fuel quantity final control element includes a linear magnet, which is operationally connected with the control member. In order to transmit the stroke movement or displacement of the armature of the linear magnet onto the control member, a transmission member is provided which includes a rotatably supported adjusting shaft, a crank and an eccentric. The crank and the eccentric are disposed on opposite ends of the adjusting shaft and protrude in opposite directions from one another.

    Abstract: A fuel injection nozzle is proposed having a valve needle which opens in the direction of fuel flow and a throttle point controlled in accordance with the stroke of the valve needle which is loaded by at least two closing springs, in order to obtain a distinct pressure jump with respect to the required opening pressure when the throttle point is rendered ineffective. As a result, the throttle point is fully effective during idling and at relatively low partial loads and is only rendered ineffective when the supply of fuel is relatively great.

    Abstract: There is proposed an improved fuel injection pump which will prevent erosion at the pump housing caused by the fuel stream leaving the return flow openings at the end of injection, by providing an impact protection ring on the cylinder bushing. Guide faces on the ring inclined toward the center (M) thereof are molded into the impact protection ring in the vicinity of a cylindrical wall portion. The impact protection ring rests on an abutment shoulder disposed above the return flow openings, in the vicinity of the return flow openings encloses an annular chamber, and is pressed by a snap ring without play and with a defined prestressing force against the abutment shoulder. As a result of the guiding action of the guide faces on the impact protection ring, a rotational movement of the impact protection ring triggered by the obliquely exiting fuel stream is assured, in order to attain a long service life for the pump.

The actual regulation is effected by means of a PID-regulator, whose individual characteristics may be established for processing data as desired, preferably in accordance with the rpm deviation. A limitation regulator furthermore serves to establish the respective maximum and/or minimum limitation of the adjustment member in accordance with operating characteristics.

    Abstract: There is proposed a control apparatus (FIG. 1), which in order to prevent the emission of smoke upon acceleration of the engine, controls a damping stroke (h.sub.D) preceding the adjusting stroke (h.sub.L) which is controlled in accordance with charge pressure. The apparatus has a pressure chamber defined by a movable wall and connected via charge air line to the air inlet tube of the engine, and the movable wall actuates an adjusting member which varies the adjusting range or the full-load position of a supply quantity adjusting member of a fuel injection pump. A throttle device embodied as a sequence valve is inserted into a line connecting portion connecting the charge air line with the pressure chamber, and the stroke/time characteristic of the throttle device determines the damping stroke (h.sub.D). The apparatus may be mounted either on the rpm governor or on the injection pump of Diesel motor vehicle engines.

    Abstract: In internal combustion engines with external ignition the fuel metering is often interrupted during overrun operation for the purpose of saving fuel. It is proposed to inhibit this blocking of the fuel supply in those cases where the danger of slipperiness because of ice or snow exists. This danger is addressed by means of the method of measuring and evaluation of the intake air temperature and/or the temperature in the vicinity of the motor vehicle. Besides the possibility of realizing the invention from the block switch diagram, it is also pointed out that the electronic control device in accordance with the present invention can also be implemented relatively easily within the confines of a computerized control of the fuel metering.

    Abstract: A lambda regulating device is proposed for a fuel metering system in an internal combustion engine with externally supplied ignition. In addition to the regulation means which is already present, multiplicative and additive corrective variables are formed and are stored in non-transient memories. The regulating device enables an additive regulated shutoff of the additive lambda shift during idling and in the lower partial-load range, and it also enables regulation to a symmetrical distance on the part of the regulating manipulation from the limitation. The additive correction may be selected to be in accordance with rpm. Finally, the reference variables for the corrective value may be selected depending upon the air throughput in the intake tube of the engine. With a view to realization of the invention by means of a computer, individual flow diagrams relating to the mode of operation are given in the drawings.

    Abstract: An rpm governor of a fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines is proposed. The rpm governor includes a governor spring, which at one end engages a governor lever of the fuel injection pump and at the other end engages a correction lever. The other end of the correction lever is engaged by a correction spring, which is coupled at its other end with an adjusting member secured eccentrically relative to an adjusting shaft on an adjusting lever. The adjusting lever is connected with the adjusting shaft and is variable in its position by means of this shaft. The correction lever is supported between a roller and an adjusting gear wheel, which engages a rack zone of the correction lever. By rotating the adjusting gear wheel, the lever arms associated with the governor spring and the correction spring can be varied, thus varying the resultant spring force or spring constant engaging the governor lever in order to establish the degree of proportionality of the rpm governor.

Below a minimum permissible filling pressure, the control valve is closed.The tire-pressure regulating system is preferably applicable to trucks and trailer trucks such as semitrailers to which frequently is attached another wheeled cargo carrier.

    Abstract: An electrically controlled fuel metering system having an air flow rate meter device in the air intake tube and a subsequent linearizing circuit layout is proposed. The linearizing circuit layout functions in accordance with the point-slope method and is embodied as a voltage-to-current converter. A first exemplary embodiment of the linearizing circuit layout has transistors coupled with one another respectively at the base and collector sides, the emitters of which are connected with different potentials and are triggered on the base side. In a second exemplary embodiment, individual transistors or transistors which are combined into groups receive their trigger signal via separate amplifiers, while the collectors in turn are carried to a common output point and the emitters likewise have different signal levels. Because of its relatively simple design, the proposed embodiments are particularly well suited to the purposes of integration.

    Abstract: An electromagnetically actuatable valve, especially an injection valve for fuel injection systems which supply internal combustion engines with fuel, is proposed in which the fuel injection valve encompasses a valve chamber and a core upon which a magnetic coil is mounted by means of a carrier body. Fuel supply openings discharge into a flow passage provided around the magnetic coil. Vapor bubbles dissolved in the fuel may be flushed out of the flow passage via a first restriction into fuel return openings which communicate with a fuel return line. On the other hand, the fuel may flow from the flow passage into the collecting chamber which houses a valve component and a valve seat. Vapor bubbles which may appear near the valve component may be flushed out via a second restriction which is provided in the interior of a core to reach the fuel return openings. Thus, disturbances with fuel injection, especially during the "hot start" of the internal combustion engine, are avoided.

    Abstract: A device is proposed for generating control signals with a primary and an auxiliary control unit, having an error indication circuit layout and a subsequently disposed switchover device from the primary to the auxiliary control unit. The auxiliary control unit operates in parallel with the primary control unit and emits monitoring signals spaced apart in time from those of the primary control unit, which do not yet influence the consumer. If the device is put to use as an injection signal generator in internal combustion engines, then it is recommended that the auxiliary control unit emit its output signal either one cycle later, or 180.degree. of crankshaft angle later, than does the primary control unit. The occurrence of the individual signals can be detected and evaluated. Upon the appearance of an error, the former auxiliary control circuit can then be switched over to become the primry control circuit; in that event, then a reversal must then be effected in the times when the individual pulses occur.

After the actuation of both contact switches, the angle indication marker is located in a predetermined rotary position, which is indicated in the associated test circuit and serves in particular to ascertain the supply onset position of the drive shaft of a fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines.
