    Abstract: An apparatus is proposed for controlling the exhaust recirculation rate in an internal combustion engine, in particular an engine with auto-ignition, which includes preferably one mixture valve in the area of the discharge opening of the exhaust recirculation line and which is characterized in that the control is accomplished via the mixture valve position ahead of the inlet valves in accordance with the concentration of at least one component of the air-exhaust gas mixture and/or at least one component of the exhaust gas. Thus it is possible to operate the engine with a relatively emission-free exhaust. An exhaust gas reservoir is further provided, with which peaks in the exhaust gas concentration due to a dynamic driving mode can be intercepted. Finally, it is also proposed that the exhaust recirculation be realized solely via a pressure, which can be controlled in open-loop or closed-loop fashion, in the exhaust line by means of a valve.

    Abstract: An rpm-governing system for an internal combustion engine with auto-ignition is proposed, in which the fuel quantity to be injected at least in the event of idling is subject to the influence of an electromagnetic final control element, in which the control unit for forming the final control element trigger signal includes a regulator having PID behavior and in which the regulation signal is formed in accordance with the actual rpm/set-point rpm deviation. This rpm-governing system has an increase in rpm set-point value, with a retarded drop, this increase in set-point being made to follow up the increase in actual value. The PID regulator furthermore has a non-linear and preferably rpm-dependent P component. The signal end stage includes a pulse length modulator, the output signal of which triggers an electromagnetic final control element while there is a simultaneous current regulating action.

    Abstract: An apparatus is proposed which serves to regulate the idling rpm of an internal combustion engine. To this end, a bypass valve is provided, which is disposed in a bypass around a throttle valve in the intake tube of the engine. A movable wall of the bypass valve separates a control chamber from a bypass chamber. The intake tube pressure downstream of the throttle valve in the bypass chamber prevails. The control chamber communicates via a control throttle restriction with atmospheric pressure and also, via an electromagnetically actuatable control valve which operates in accordance with operating characteristics of the engine, as well as with the intake tube pressure downstream of the throttle valve. The regulation of the idling rpm is thus effected by means of a proportional component effected by the bypass valve and an integral component effected by the pressure distribution between the control throttle restriction and the control valve.

    Abstract: A hydraulically operated bar stock feeder having a hydraulic circuit in which a hydraulic pump drives a hydraulic motor which in turn operates the bar feeder carriage. The hydraulic pump operates a hydraulic cylinder with a designed live center cup attached to the end of the cylinder rod. The hydraulic circuit has a control valve with hydraulic detent which will lock in a forward or backward position. While the control valve is locked in forward position, fluid is allowed to go to a relief valve at the hydraulic motor on the carriage. The relief valve reduces the pressure going to hydraulic motor and deceleration valve. When the carriage reaches the end of track the deceleration valve is depressed, which, through another relief valve at a lower pressure starts the cylinder rod moving outward. Both the cylinder and carriage motor are able to set (not move) under pressure and will start automatically when the lathe chuck is open.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus are proposed for the combined guidance, incorporating a register, of two continuously advanced foil strips, such as when attaching a foil cover strip to a lower foil strip including container-like recesses. The foil cover strip is preferably of aluminum and has printed legends which must be oriented precisely with respect to the container-like recesses of the lower foil strip. A marking is associated with each legend for scanning by a photo cell. The distribution of the legends and thus of the markings is somewhat closer together than the distribution of the container-like recesses. By stretching the foil cover strip, the distribution of the legends and of the markings can be adapted to the distribution of the container-like recesses.

    Abstract: A fuel injection valve is proposed for fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines, which serves to supply fuel into the intake tubes of the engine. The injection valve includes a movable valve element which cooperates with a fixed valve seat. Downstream of the valve seat a bore is provided in the valve body. A charge controlling device in the form of an insert having a section having axially extending flutes thereon is pressed into the bore. The insert has a section on its end away from the fixed valve seat that functions as a metering section. The metering section has a diameter smaller than the internal diameter of the bore, with the metering of fuel taking place in the space thus provided. A diversion means downstream of the charge controlling device serves to divert fuel flow from a valve in a radially extending fan-type spray into an intake tube.

The temperature sensor includes a carrier body receiving electrical connections and a temperature-dependent electrical resistor element which is surrounded by a protective sheath. The protective sheath has apertures which permit free access to the temperature-dependent electrical resistor element by the medium to be measured. The protective sheath is advantageously capable of being connected in a positively-engaged manner with a protruding catch of the carrier body. As a consequence of the free access of the medium to be measured to the temperature-dependent electrical resistor element, a very short response time on the part of the temperature sensor to changes in temperature is assured.

The electronic regulating device of the air flow rate meter and a pressure regulator for regulating the fuel pressure at the injection valve as well as a supplementary air valve for controlling an air bypass bypassing the throttle valve during the warm-up phase of the engine may be provided on the air intake fitting. As a result, a mixture formation system is attained which is simply constructed and functions reliably, and which because of its compact structure can be accommodated in the engine compartment of an internal combustion engine even where space is extremely limited.
