Abstract: A butterfly valve comprising a valve body provided with a hard body seat having a cylindrical sealing surface, and a valve disc rotatable within the body and provided with a hard disc seat on the periphery thereof. The body seat and the disc seat are adapted to contact each other substantially over the entire circumference. The valve of this invention is capable of good sealing and is opened with a small driving force.
Abstract: The invention relates to a subpressure limiter for a fuel injection system of a mixture compressing, externally ignited internal combustion engine wherein the apportioned fuel quantity is injected into the suction tube containing an arbitrarily actuatable throttle valve, and wherein the suction tube sections upstream and downstream of the throttle valve are interconnected by means of a bypass whose cross-sectional area is variable by means of the subpressure limiter and features a pressure dependent control element responding to the subpressure prevailing within the suction tube section downstream of the throttle valve during an overrunning operation.

Abstract: A control device for internal combustion engines serves to maintain selectable speeds at a constant value. The control device comprises an actual value-desired value comparison stage for the speed, at least one integrator, as well as storage capacity for the integrator value. The engine has a speed device and within a selectable speed range of the engine, the speed device operates in accordance with its function. Outside of the selected speed range, particularly at higher speeds, the integrator serves as a storage device so that when the speed again enters the control speed range, the stored value serves as a starting point for the renewed control operation. In this way, a rapid control action is insured upon each re-entry into the control range, besides providing an exact control operation within the range.
Abstract: An internal combustion engine in which each cylinder or combustion volume includes a separate ignition chamber which communicates with the main combustion chamber through a relatively narrow channel or channels. The combustible mixture is delivered to the separate chamber exclusively through these channels by the compressive action of the piston and is ignited there by a suitable electrical spark, for example. There is no additional admission of fuel or fuel mixture to the separate ignition chamber. The channel or channels terminate in the ignition chamber in such a manner, for example, tangentially, that one or more vortices are generated in the chamber prior to ignition. The channels are so oriented that the emerging igniter flames are directed to potential hot cells in the main combustion chamber where auto-ignition could occur.
Abstract: An X-ray apparatus for transverse axial tomography by direct exposure of a photographic film.A localizer, constituted mainly by a lead-lined cylindrical tube, is fixed to a pivotal lever in the vicinity of the source of X-rays. It contains, in particular, a set of movable filters and movable opaque shutters each of which is moved by driving means according to the movements of the pivotal lever so that the essential part of the beam never impinges directly on the cassette holder and the rays located at the edge of the beam are less powerful than those located in the center region.A transverse tomography apparatus of general utility.
Abstract: An air filtering system for large installations such as spinning machine rooms, textile factories, etc., has a rotating drum with permeable walls through which air is aspirated to the interior of the drum while the accumulated contaminants are removed during the rotation of the drum by a reciprocating vacuum cleaner. In order to protect the bearings of the drum and the drive mechanism from contact with uncleaned air, the drum is carried by rollers which contact only the interior surface of the drum. The drive motor and transmission are also placed inside the drum.
Abstract: An electrical control circuit, especially for a fuel supply device of an internal combustion engine, which serves to control a control member that reacts to the electrical current, said control taking place in dependence on the temperature. The electrical control circuit includes a temperature-dependent element in the form of a cold conducting (PTC resistor), and in the special exemplary embodiment is in the form of an electromagnetic valve as a control member especially to supply additional fuel into the intake manifold of an internal combustion engine at temperatures below a predetermined starting temperature of the internal combustion engine. A relay can also serve as the control member that controls the electrical current of the above-mentioned electromagnetic valve.
Abstract: The invention concerns a fuel injection nozzle with a valve needle and a hollow needle, both of which are loaded by only one spring. During opening one of the needles strikes a stop while the other needle continues to move against the force of the spring.
Abstract: A machine for molding pipe type elements such as steel fabric reinforced concrete pipes, provided with a funnel having protrusions on its inner surface mounted rotatably in relation to an external mold on rolling elements, a core tube being provided with preferably three guiding members arranged inside the core tube, at least one of the guiding members being filled with lubricating liquid and a seat at the lower ends of the guiding members fitted separably with a lubricating gasket, the seat consisting of at least two parts arranged symmetrically about a cylinder whereby the inner opening of the seat is fitted slidably to the outer diameter of the cylinder with the guiding members guided slidably in the openings of a guide forming the tip of the cylinder.

Abstract: A long-term endoprosthesis in which a relatively large part of the surface, which in the implanted condition makes contact with the bone of the wearer of the implant, is provided with electrodes. These electrodes are connected with a source of a low frequency electrical voltage and are so arranged that they alternate with relatively short spacings in the contact zone. The electrode spacing preferably decreases in size in accordance with the size of the mechanical area loading on the corresponding part of the contact area, that is to say, the greater the loading, the smaller the spacing.
Abstract: What follows is a description of a mechanism for displacing structurally related component parts of a larger assembly of parts relative to each other. The component parts are typically locked together into the larger assembly and the mechanism is designed to first unlock the component parts and thereafter produce the relative displacement of the component parts. The mechanism is also designed to reverse the noted procedure and first produce the relative displacement followed by locking of the component parts. The procedure is effected using a single actuator and a continuous operation.
Abstract: The invention relates to fuel injection nozzles for internal combustion engines provided with a nozzle body one end of which includes plural fuel injection spray apertures with plural telescopable valve needles slidably positioned in the nozzle body and arranged to control feed to the spray apertures. At least one valve needle is controllable by an adjusting piston subjected to fuel supply and plural pressure chambers associated with the respective valve needles permits pressurized fuel supply to successively lift the valve needles independently of the other away from the spray apertures in the nozzle body.
Abstract: A fuel injection apparatus for mixture-compressing, externally ignited internal combustion engines. An air flow rate member, arranged in the air intake manifold is moved against a return force by air flowing through it to adjust a control slide of a metering and distribution assembly arranged in the fuel supply line in order to effect the apportionment of a quantity of fuel which is proportional to the air quantity. The return force is produced by a pressure fluid acting upon the control slide, the pressure of the fluid being variable in accordance with operating characteristics of the internal combustion engine. The control slide has an actuation slide contacting the air flow rate member as well as an apportionment slide, which has a projection with a smaller diameter projecting into an axial throttle bore of the actuation slide and defining a damping space in the throttle bore.

Abstract: A full height compensation circuit for a capacitive type probe of the type used to measure the mass of fuel in a tank which includes a probe capacitor for immersion in the fuel connected to a source of power for supplying current to the probe capacitor, the probe capacitor current being summed with a current corresponding to the capacitance of the fuel tank in the empty state to provide an output voltage, the output voltage being positively integrated to a predetermined value as determined by the number of pulses counted by a counter, following which the counter is actuated to count down the number of pulses required to return the integrated output voltage to zero, and the number of pulses counted down providing a digital number output proportional to the mass of fuel sensed by the probe capacitor.

Abstract: The invention relates to a fuel injection system provided with a pump and at least one nozzle, in which the fuel quantity which collects by leakage in the spring chamber of the nozzle for the purpose of limiting the speed of the needle as it opens flows out through a throttle valve in a controlled manner. The throttle valve is controlled in accordance with engine characteristics.
Abstract: The invention relates to improvements in valve needles for fuel injection nozzles wherein the terminus of the needle that projects into the injection port of the valve body is tapered downwardly. As a consequence, a change in the flow cross section is attained even during idling or lower partial-load of the valve needle. This invention thus achieves an improvement in shifting smoothness, lower fuel consumption, the quality of the exhaust gas, as well as the entire efficiency of the internal combustion engine.
