Abstract: A load-dependent brake force governor is proposed, in which the actuation linkage which influences the governor valve is additionally used for the purpose of actuating a signal transducer which then produces a load-dependent signal. The signal transducer can be either a control valve (FIG. 1) or an inductive transducer (FIG. 2). In this manner, even when the brake is not actuated, a load-dependent signal is available for use, with which further devices, such as an engine brake or a retarder, an axle load indicator or a headlight range control means, can be actuated. A supplementary pickup of the movement of the vehicle chassis can be omitted. The brake force governor is preferably applicable to motor vehicles.
Abstract: A regulating device is proposed for the mixture composition of an internal combustion engine having a signal sensor and having regulating ranges which can be switched over between lambda equals one and the lean range. The lambda-equal-to-one regulation is effected by means of a two-point regulator and the lean regulation is effected either via an altered set-point value of the two-point regulator or with the aid of a steady regulator. The transitions between the two types of regulation take a course dependent on a selectable function, in order to avoid abrupt changes in rpm. A switchover is also made to controlled operation for a brief period at the beginning of each type of regulation.
Abstract: A method is proposed for sterilizing packaging material of plastic, cardboard or combinations of the two, in particular for sterilizing preshaped packaging containers intended for receiving acidic products. In this method, damage to the packaging material or the packaging apparatus is to be avoided because of the mild thermal treatment involved. By subjecting the surface to be treated to a flow of a moist mixture of water vapor and air at a temperature of from 80.degree. to 140.degree. C. and having a moisture content of from 5 to 50%, sufficiently high degrees of sterility for the sterile packaging of acidic food products are attainable within relatively short treatment periods.

A large part of this sealant is drained from the pipeline, and the part of the sealant remaining on inner walls of the pipeline is allowed to cure. The sealant contains coagulations of weakly cohering fine particles of inorganic oxide at less than 5 percent, and the particles have diameters not exceeding 0.05.mu..
Abstract: An electric control motor is proposed, which serves to adjust final control elements in closed- or open-loop control systems, in particular for varying the position of throttle devices provided for metering fuels in internal combustion engines. The control motor includes a housing, in which an electromagnetic coil and an armature are disposed, the armature being rotatably supported upon a shaft providing spaced air gaps therewith and with magnetic poles. The magnetic poles are disposed on arcuate conducting bodies, which are disposed in spaced relation on a nonmagnetic carrier body. At ends remote from the magnetic poles, the conducting bodies communicate with one another via a magnetically conductive plate.
Abstract: A method which serves to bond electrically conductive wires by means of heating and of a soldering material; it is applicable in particular to wire segments of a hot wire fastened on wire holders for measuring the mass of a flowing medium, where the wire segments intersect one another and form a loop. In the method, in a first operation, the wire to be bonded is guided around the respective wire holder such that it forms a loop, and a soldering segment provided with a layer of soldering material comes to rest in the vicinity of the intersection point of the wire segments, in fact only at one of the wire segments.

The steering cylinder is disposed perpendicular to the center pin and mounted on the front wheel supporter so as to swing in integral with the front wheel supporter.
Abstract: A multi-range weight scale which includes an adjustable cam that changes the weight arms-mechanism so that the scales will weigh a normal weight load or twice the normal weight load.
Abstract: A fuel injection apparatus for definite pilot and main injection in internal combustion engines. A hydraulic auxiliary pump is supplied via a pressure line with fuel from a high-pressure injection pump, which fuel reaches a main injection nozzle and simultaneously drives the hydraulic auxiliary pump. The hydraulic auxiliary pump contains a differential piston comprising a reservoir piston and a pilot injection piston with different diameters and with a spring prestressing such that between the end of supply of the pilot injection and the onset of supply of the main injection, an injection-free spacing stroke (DH) which can be predetermined by means of mechanical stops results, during which spacing stroke (DH) the reservoir piston by retracting further, receives the supply quantity which is pumped during the injection interval by the high-pressure injection pump.

Abstract: A fuel injection apparatus having pre-injection and main injection and associated with Diesel engines is disclosed. A high-pressure injection pump delivers a main injection quantity to a main injection nozzle, and a hydraulic pre-injection auxiliary pump is driven by this same pressure pulse. The pre-injection auxiliary pump includes a stepped piston, comprising a pre-injection piston portion and a driving piston portion, and the stepped piston has as an integral component such as a slide pintle control valve located in an extension of its driving piston portion. This control valve opens the passage to the continuing pressure line and to the main injection nozzle only after a predetermined stroke of the stepped piston has been attained.
Abstract: A fuel injection pump having a hydraulic injection onset adjuster, an rpm governor with at least one member operating in accordance with load, and a full-load stop of the governor which limits the maximum injection quantity is proposed, in which between the full-load stop and the governor member adjustable in accordance with load a switch is provided, which switch upon a change from full load to partial load triggers a magnetic valve, to thereby effect a shift of the injection onset toward "late". The magnetic valve, to this end, engages the hydraulic control of the injection adjuster.
Abstract: A nozzle holder for internal combustion engines is proposed, in which a sleeve can be secured in the cylinder head by means of a tightening nut. The sleeve protects the portion of the nozzle which protrudes into the combustion chamber from thermal effects. Ease of serviceability is attained in that when the nozzle holder is rotated out of the cylinder head, the sleeve is simultaneously removed, without requiring additional hand operations.

Abstract: A vehicle brake system including a brake force booster, controllable a brake pedal, for actuating a main brake cylinder in order to supply wheel brake cylinders with braking pressure for service braking operations and also includes brake pressure control valves, which direct braking pressures into individual wheel brake cylinders if there is a danger that the wheels will lock during braking. To this end, pressure is supplied to the brake pressure control valves from the brake force booster via controlled valves. In order to be able to reduce drive slip as well, the controlled valves are embodied as a switchover valve, so that pressure can be directed to the brake pressure control valves directly from a pressure supply container bypassing the brake force booster. The vehicle brake system is inexpensively further embodied for reducing drive slip by modifying the control valves.
Abstract: A device is proposed for controlling the injection start to a set-point value dependent on operating parameters, in which the period of time between the appearance of an injection start signal and a reference marking (for instance, a top-dead-center signal) is counted out and the result of counting is compared with the set-point value. To avoid malfunctioning, the triggering of the counting process is possible in only one, predetermined crankshaft angle range. Various values are provided for the counting-out frequency. In the exemplary embodiment they are within the range between 50 and 200 kHz. In case of failure, a control of injection onset is effected, and as needed, a limitation of the fuel quantity as well--for instance to 70% of the respectively determined quantity.
Abstract: A quick change tool retention device for attachment to a power operated mechanism, such as a power operated hand drill, provided with a body portion and a release means attached to a spring-biased leg portion so that a tool, provided with a groove for interlock with the leg portion, can be brought into a keyway and locked in place until such time as the release button is depressed, thereby depressing the leg portion against the spring biasing and releasing the tool from retention via the groove.
Abstract: A fuel injection pump is proposed for internal combustion engines having a pump piston having a blind bore and two control bores and in which the fuel quantity to be supplied is controlled by means of a control slide having oblique control edges. At least two control edges are provided in a window-like recess of the control slide, of which the lower edge in each case and possibly the upper one as well extend obliquely; the upper control edge provided in the recess determines the supply onset, in cooperation with the first control bore, and the lower control edge of the recess determines the end of supply, in cooperation with the second control bore.
Abstract: A method for the incorporation of an active agent into a porous structural substrate which comprises forming a pseudoplastic gel comprising:an active agentat least one solvent thereforand at least one gel forming agent and thereafter applying the gel to the structure to be treated. The penetration of the gel into the porous structure may be regulated by decreasing the viscosity of the gel by increasing the shear on the gel during its application to the porous structure. A predetermined gel penetration of the structure is achieved before 75% of the solvent has evaporated.
Abstract: A temperature-dependent measuring resistor layer is applied to a first carrier, the temperature and/or resistance of which layer is regulated in accordance with the mass of the medium. The first carrier is approximately rectangular and in particular is disposed parallel to the flow direction in a convergent section of the flow cross section. In a parallel section of the flow cross section, a second carrier having a compensating resistor is disposed, which likewise has a rectangular cross section and in particular extends parallel to the flow direction. An arrangement of this kind not only avoids deposits on the end face of the first carrier pointing into the flow but also prevents the result of measurement at the measuring resistor layer from being affected by the position of the second carrier in the flow cross section.
Abstract: A centrifugal speed governor, functioning as a minimum-maximum-speed governor, includes an adjusting member which is pivotable for adjusting the supply quantity, and the governor rod of the associated injection pump is adjustable via an intermediate lever by means of the adjusting member and a governor spring which is displaceable counter to the force of associated governor springs. The travel of the governor rod is limited in the direction of an increasing supply quantity by a governor rod stop including a starting spring. With the adjusting member resting on an end stop, the governor rod is pressed away from a basic test position (P) into its full-load position (V), and the differential travel (.DELTA.R) thereby resulting is absorbed by an accumulator in the governor linkage, preferably in the governor sleeve. The deflection stroke (A) of the accumulator is only slightly longer than that required to compensate for the differential travel (.DELTA.R).

Abstract: An electro-magnetically operable valve serving especially as fuel injection valve for a fuel injection device of internal combustion engines. The valve is composed of a valve housing, in which a magnetic coil is disposed around a core. The core has a concavely formed stop face against which, during excitation of the magnetic coil, a ball rests. The ball serves as an armature and movable valve part and cooperates with a fixed valve seat. The radius (r.sub.1) of the concavely formed stop face of the core is larger by about 0.1 to 1 mm than the radius (r.sub.2) of the ball. This causes a sufficient hydraulic cushion between the end face of the core and the ball when the ball is attracted toward the core upon magnetic energization of the latter and thus prevents a bouncing movement of the ball or its sticking to the core, when the ball is biased toward the valve seat upon de-energization of the core.
