Abstract: A fuel injection pump in which for the purpose of controlling the injection quantity and in particular to determine the onset and end of injection, a hydraulically actuatable piston slide is provided, which controls a connection between the pump work chamber and a fuel supply line or the fuel supply container. The control is effected via two magnetic valves acting in opposite directions, by means of which two different, high control pressures acting upon the piston slide can be exerted. The control pressures are made available either with a single pressure control valve and by blocking off the relief of the supply side of the fuel supply pump, or else by means of two pressure control valves.
Abstract: A heald frame assembly comprising a plurality of heald frames which are provided with at least one guide plate which contacts with another guide plate on the heald frame adjacent the heald frame having the said one guide plate. The guide plates are so constructed as to make plastic to metal contact in this assembly.
Abstract: A fuel injection nozzle for internal combustion engines having a valve needle opening outward and connected with a piston which defines a damping chamber filled with fuel. Upon the opening stroke of the valve needle, the damping chamber communicates with the flow path of the fuel only via a throttling conduit. The damping chamber is formed in a cap, which is mounted upon the piston and centers itself on the piston. The cap is supported on the nozzle housing toward the side of the injection opening via a pre-stressed support spring, and the cap and the support spring are confined between stops attached to the housing. Therefore, the damping can be limited in a manner dependent on pressure or speed.
Abstract: For the electronic control system of a Diesel injection system a smoke pulse limitation device is proposed, so that even during dynamic operational conditions the exhaust gas clouding does not exceed unwanted high values and without requiring sensors for the direct or indirect determination of the amount of air aspirated per cylinder stroke. For this purpose there are proposed a delay element for a signal giving the desired amount of fuel as well as a real differentiator in a rpm signal processing branch. Finally, by way of a performance characteristic data storage for the smoke pulse limiter, maximally permissible fuel amount values are determined.
Abstract: A device for injecting fuel in combustion chambers, especially for self-igniting internal combustion engines, is proposed, in which a fuel injection nozzle, by aspirating air through an air guide device in the manner of a jet pump, generates a fuel spray that is surrounded by an air envelope. This air-enveloped fuel spray is directed through a heating element, the heat generation of which is distributed in such a manner over its length that a desired heating profile along the heating element is produced. The type of heating profile depends not only on the properties of the material making up the heating resistor but also on its structural makeup and its electrical bonding. A highly suitable material for the heating resistor is molybdenum silicide (MoSi.sub.2).

Abstract: The invention relates to light, sailing vehicles equipped with at least one sail fixed on a mast and attached to a boom. The mast is supported toward its middle part at the top of a two-legged support, in the form of an inverted V, and mounted rigidly on the frame of the vehicle, while the foot of the mast is mounted in such a manner as to be capable of sliding along a cross member substantially perpendicular to the plane of symmetry of said frame and shifted toward the front with respect to the transverse plane passing through the top of the two-legged support.
Abstract: The pump/nozzle unit for a fuel injection system is disclosed which has a pump piston that is driven via a drive tappet and is rotatable by means of a regulating sleeve. The regulating sleeve, provided with a radially protruding control lever arm, is axially secured in its installed position by means of a guide bushing. The guide bushing includes a guide part for the drive tappet and a radially protruding flange, which is secured to the pump housing by at least one holder passing through an oblong slot on the flange of the guide bushing. A recess in the form of a circular segmented ring is cut out of the guide bushing for the passage therethrough of the control lever arm. By rotating the guide bushing within a range limited by the oblong slot a lateral limiting edge of the recess is adjustable into a position in which the pump piston, with the control lever arm resting on the limiting edge assumes a rotational position associated with a fixed supply quantity.

Abstract: A method for testing the correct position of a wiper of an electric potentiometer and an electric potentiometer for performing the method are proposed. The electric potentiometer includes a wiper lever with brush wipers, which upon a rotational movement about a pivot shaft brush over two work sections of an electrically conductive layer applied to a carrier plate. One of the work sections communicates on one side with a connection layer and on the other with a grounded connection layer, which the other work section communicates with a pickup connection layer. Respective testing faces are provided in the extension of the permissible movement paths of the brush wipers on the work sections, these testing faces being embodied as electrically non-conductive and in a testing position of the wiper lever being crossed by the wiper lever.
Abstract: A brake system for vehicles with trailers and having a compressed-air, dual-line brake system, in which a pressure sensor is associated with the trailer brake valve, with which sensor an electronic switching system disposed on the trailer can be triggered. A following pressure control valve is either switched parallel to a brake line leading from the trailer brake valve to the brake cylinders or, given dual-circuit triggering, of itself takes on the function of supplying the brake cylinders.
Abstract: A cranial controller for supplying directional signals to a computer input is provided in which the controller is affixed to the head of an incapacitated user and by selectively moving his or her head one of several mercury switches is activated to send a directional control signal corresponding to the selected cranial movement to a computer console or video device. In addition, the user's mouth provides a pressure source for activating a vacuum controlled switch in the controller for providing a function signal to the computer input.
Abstract: A fuel injection nozzle for internal combustion engines, having a valve needle, which at the end of a pre-stroke directly or indirectly opens an auxiliary conduit, by way of which the fuel pressure acts upon a reservoir piston and a pressure shoulder which acts in the closing direction of the valve needle. As a result, the valve needle is temporarily returned to the valve seat and the closing pressure is notably increased. The subsequent primary injection phase is initiated at a correspondingly higher pressure, and the higher closing pressure continues effective until the end of the injection event, thereby bringing about an exact closure of the valve.
Abstract: A pressure sensor is disposed downstream of a throttle valve in the intake tube of an internal combustion engine. When the throttle valve is closed, a throttle valve switch generates a logic signal. A monitoring of the pressure sensor is effected in that upon the simultaneous occurrence of the logic signal and a pressure signal which corresponds to an abnormal or a physically impossible state when the throttle valve is closed, an alarm is triggered.

Abstract: An apparatus for the rpm-dependent adjustment of the timing of an injection pump for internal combustion engines (shaft-type injection adjuster), in which a rotationally driven primary part is connected in a rotationally coupled manner with a secondary part but with the rotational angle between them being variable. The connection is effected via an axially displaceable sliding sheath, which is positively connected via at least one of the parts via a bevel gear and simultaneously acts as an adjusting piston. The working face of this adjusting piston is supplied with a control pressure by a centrifugal force control piston supported in a separate transverse bore in the primary part, either directly or with the intermediacy of an additional control piston, with respect to which then the adjusting piston effecting the coupling between the driving part and the driven part is embodied as a followup piston.

Abstract: A control system for an internal combustion engine which has a driving-pedal position transducer, a subsequent performance graph apparatus for control values and a control device responding to these values. A delay element is provided in series with the performance graft apparatus between the driving-pedal position transducer and the control device. The purpose of the control system is to adapt the mode of response of the control device (a throttle valve, for instance, in an Otto engine or the regulator rod in a Diesel engine) to various operational states. Of special significance are rpm, the position of the driving pedal, and the change in driving-pedal position. The proposed system is efficaciously realized by means of a computer.
Abstract: A control device for Diesel engines with which a rapid shutoff of the latter is possible by emptying the suction chamber of the injection pump by aspiration. The control device includes a control valve, which in the operating position (I) opens up the feed line of the feed pump toward the suction chamber and in the reversed shutoff position (II) blocks this feed line between the compression side (D) of the feed pump and the suction chamber. The control valve is an electromagnetic shutoff valve. A further part of the control device is an electric fuel pump, which as a special aspirating pump is disposed in an aspiration line leading from the suction chamber back to the fuel tank. For emergency engine shutoff, the control valve, displaced into its blocking position (II), blocks the flow of fuel between the feed pump and the suction chamber, while the aspirating fuel pump that has been turned on at the same time empties the suction chamber by aspiration.

Abstract: It is proposed to adjust components, tools and devices of a packaging machine to various formats in accordance with the products to be packaged and packaging material to be used. To assure that the operator will approach the correct conversion point when adjusting the individual conversion points in accordance with a program of a data-processing control unit, the various conversion points have code carriers with a code identifying the particular conversion point. The control unit does not emit an adjusting signal unitl the operator has connected a code reader with the code carrier the code of which agrees with the conversion point displayed at the control unit.
Abstract: An idling regulation system for an internal combustion engine is proposed, in which preferably the air throughput in the intake tube is regulated in accordance with the deviation between the set-point and actual rpm values, the temperature, and the like. In this manner, the air leakage of the throttle valve, for instance, is additionally detected in an idling regulation system, via a bypass final control element.
Abstract: A combination walking cane, path light and uprisal assistance device is provided by the invention. The shaft of the walking cane is adjustable in length to suit the user. The handle of the device is provided with a switch to operate an illumination device mounted near the base of the cane shaft. The upper extremity near the rebent portion of the cane is provided with a flange or collar allowing the user a better grip and improved leverage in rising from a seated position to a standing position.
Abstract: A mirror collector having a generally parabolic surface terminating near the vertex in a circular or cylindrical curve, an evacuated cylindrical heat entrapment tube composed of a clear glass for energy admission and two pair of elongated heat collector tubes centrally located in the heat entrapment tube for passing an inner fluid to be heated. The two pair of heat collector tubes are constructed of copper with a selective absorption coating for receiving heat and positioned so that the mirror collector concentrates substantially all incoming energy upon the central heat collector tubes.
